A System for Second Gen

Unread postby Uncle Pervy » Wed Jul 23, 2003 8:27 am

Given the leaps and bounds Second Gen has taken toward becoming a full RP world in its own right, I have taken a liking to GMing within it. And being the sort of GM I am, I like to be evil. But, I also like to reward my players for enduring that evil. And my favorite award is XP.

Thus, I sought a way to give this. I do not want to use Philsys as it is too slow for my tastes. I'm too likely to discard it when the math gets hard and go into what Adam has termed LamerSys; roll d20 and ignore the result.

So, I looked to our beloved friend of DF, the Window system. And there I found what I desired. A simple system with simple XP. And thus, I wish to make this the System of Second Gen RPs.

I've spoken with several regular Second Gen RPers, and they agree to using it, so I'd like to share it with everyone. This is essentially Window with a few select bits of alterations I made to make it a bit more pleasing to myself, and contigious with what we already do.

Choark

Apple

Unread postby Choark » Wed Jul 23, 2003 9:28 am

Character sheet of Apple:

Apple

Gender: Female
Age: 18
Height: 6' 0"
weight: Approx 13 stone.
Eyes: Blue ( I think - can't recal at this moment )
Hair: Spikey Wild Silver hair that reaches far down past her back.
Clothing: She has been wearing a tight fitting Dancer gear as of late, that shows more then it hides - a lot more - it was made for "pole Dancing" in the bar "Busty Barbarians".
Build: Busty, Atheletic and fairly Slim

Background:

Apple is the child of the somewhat infamous Choark, Barbarian Ninja and a as of yet, unknown mother whom Apple has said nothing of. She was raised in the wild, by her family. They walked to and from places all over Geara and few people are as well travelled as her. Her life has been of constant battle practice, hunting and a few good times in bars. However she lacks even the basic knowledge of how the normal human world works, understanding little of the concept of money and its importance in the running of civilasation.

Her Father did raise her on stories, of people who went on quests and faught great evil and saved the day. Heroes. Apple took al of these stories and held them close to her heart. To her, this was the world. This effected the direction of Apples life. She decided to leave her wondering family and go to Doma, the normal starting point of the tales, and become a "Quester" herself. She "Borrowed" her fathers magical Warhammer, which she had been trained to use anyhow so she certainly didn't view it as stealing.

From there she has met a girl named Choko whom she now adores and see's her as the perfect person and falls head over heels every time she see's the 12 foot lady. At one point Choko berated Apple and her life style, telling Apple she was a bandit and should do an honest days work. Apple searched for the work in the one place her Father had said people like them could earn money, the Slums.

Unlike her father though, she never made it to the fighting pits and instead was approached by a man and asked to work in a place he thought would be really suited to her. Apple went along and found she did indeed enjoy the work on offer. She got to dance and sometimes fight in mud, Certainly it was weird that they asked her to slowly loose her clothing but it didn't really matter much to her. She even got to take out and beat up trouble makers, which there seemed to be a lot of. So now Apple works "part time" in the "Busty Barbarians" in the slums. The manager is also happy at having a good looking girl who is seemly a natural dancer who doubles as a bodyguard for the other girls as well.

Note: You can assume that for almost everything else needing skill she is d30/d20 - as she picks things up very slowly

Second Note: The Warhammer she holds is a overly large double handed magical Warhammer that is infused with many types of magic. It lacks Dark magic as of yet though, but can do Earth, Fire, Lightening, A strange "air", Holy (doubling as a torch), Ice and Water.

Third note: Mages may be suprised to find there seems to be the soul of something not human in the Warhammer.

SHEET SHEET WAI

Miranda Amanziani
Gender:Female
Age: 13
Height: 4'8
weight: Approx 155 pounds.
Eyes: Left eye: Blue- Right eye: Silver
Hair: Light blonde, usually down, but sometimes ties it back with her fathers old bandanna
Clothing: Green tank-top, long green pants, Barian Traveling Jacket(Thicker then average jacket, whee)
Build: Small and thin

Background: Daughter of Griff and Yfandes, Miranda was born into a strange type of royalty. At the time, her grandfather, Frederick, ruled Barius, but her parents weren't in a position of royalty. Her grandfather and Griff didn't get along, due to Frederick's distrust of dragons, and Griffs love for a pair of them, but they still needed to stay around and help Frederick rebuild Barius, so Miranda spent the first years of her life in full human form, to help ease the tensions between her father and grandfather. After Fredericks death, her parents took over as the rulers of Barius, and Miranda found herself to be the princess of Squall Castle.

Miranda spent the next 10 years growing up with the best of everything, yet was always taught not to take things for granted. She got a proper education, along with a few lessons on diplomacy of not only Barius, but diplomacy concerning international affairs. With her grandfather gone, and at Griff and Yfandes insistence, she learned and developed the traits and abilities granted to her from her storm dragon heritage: Wind and lightning magic, flight, and the metamorphosis and use of her dragon form. Although she never got the chance to really get used to her full dragon form very well, she learned how to fly quite well, deciding to take dragon-half form most of the time to keep her wings and tail, which she's very fond of.

Eventually, she decided to go with her mother and father on a 'trip of good faith' to Doma, where she continues to learn about the world and its workings, while still being as naive and skeptical about things as her father once was.

Ryoko Devilmen

Unread postby SALSAlys » Wed Jul 23, 2003 11:24 am

Y'know, I love this. Yes I do. I am tempted to GM a second gen arpee now just so I can have fun looking over char sheets and messing with it. ^_^

At any rate:

Ryoko Devilmen:
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Height: 5’5”
Weight: (I’m not good with weight; 130 pounds?)
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Light brown; when loose, reaches midback. Has chunky blonde streaks.
Clothing: Hot pink tank top with a cut that shows a generous amount of cleavage, and a black miniskirt.
Build: Slender but busty.

Background: Daughter of Nightbride and Argus Devilmen, it’s small wonder she’s got such a problem with hormones, and in fact has a rather (in)famous crush on Jaeko Messiah Williams. This half-succubus inherited the ‘sooky cleavage space’ as well, and despite her libido and seeming ‘experience’ with sex, is actually quite naive and trusting. Also more than slightly ditzy, she is likely to act or speak before thinking, or to let her mouth meander off and mouth her thoughts when she's not paying attention.

Choark

Jenna Tymisson

Unread postby Choark » Wed Jul 23, 2003 12:51 pm

Jenna Tymisonn

Gender: Female
Age: 25
Height: 5' 10"
weight: Approx none of your damn business
Eyes: Red
Hair: Long black with large blond dyed fringe
Clothing: Anything she can buy dirt cheap at the moment - Jester outfit if in the mood
Build: Overly slim

Hell hath no fury campaired to this terror. Or at least that was the case when Jenna Tymisonn was younger, now the once proud vampire half has taken a rather unexpected turn in life. It all started in her teens when she decided she could handle the taste of blood. For a three month period, Jenna was hunting, drinking and killing the people of Geara until stopped by her family and friends. The vampire half could just not handle the thirst.

She was then basically made to go cold turkey. Strapped to her bed she went through months of personal hell as she tried to free herself and feed again. After she recovered from this (the same way a human would recover from being addicted to drugs) Jenna was guilt ridden over the things she had done. Even for her, she had passed the limit and beyond.

Thus the Tymisonn blood that was still a part of her kicked in. She became a Hero, helping others (though often reluctantly) and fighting off many problems normal humans couldn't deal with. A few of them were problems she had helped cause too. She currently has an office in Doma she rents off a ghost and works with 3 other people, each with an area of expertise, where they apparently are "Heroes for Hire" though Jenna sometimes forgets to ask for the money.

As a final blow to her old ways, she has even giving up hurting humans in anyway, and this even goes to burning there pants - (though she lets that slip now and then for special occasions) - Because of this she mostly restrains herself on what she does.

Now-a-days Jenna guilt is finally subsiding and she is even getting her "Wit" back, though the people of Doma may think of this as a step in the wrong direction. She lately has even been thinking of making Chris pop the question to her, cause despite herself, she knows she loves the werewolf and childhood friend. Maybe one day she'll start a fairly normal life, though she has no idea what a normal life is.

Depends on how bad the failure is. It could result in having clothes in the wrong places for a lesser failure, or leaving something unbuttoned or untied.

Pure Devilmen

Gender: Female
Age:23
Race:Drow/Nekonian Halfbreed
Height:5'4
Weight:112 lbs.
Eyes: Black
Hair: White
Clothing: A nice cotton dress in a bright
cheery color, pink stockings underneath,
functional boots, and ribbons in her hair.
Build:Typical elven build. >:P

Background:

Pure had an interesting past. There was a mix
up, one which parent she belonged to, as both
considered her rather an item to own at the time.

She is the only child from a liason between a scatterbrained nekonain healer, and a drow gigolo.

She was pretty much abandoned at the age of three, and left to roam the Doman streets alone, along with her only friend, Snoo the stuffed fish toy.

However one day, Argus Devilmen came across her in a trashcan, and took Pure in, giving her a family. But Pure was often left to her own devices, and scammed most of Doma out of a fish dinner with her adorable antics.

At age fifteen, Pure became curious about her blood family, and about her Nekonian roots, so she went to Nekonia and sought out her blood mother. There Pure spent several years learning about the Nekonian culture, how to cook proper nekonian dishes, a few basic home remedies.

At the age of 21 Pure journied back to Doma city, but unfortunately due to her lack of a formal education, or any real applicable skills, she was coerced into a job as a dancer at a sleazy club, because of her hopes to be an actress at the amphitheater.

After a while, the rather proper young woman could take it no longer, and quite her job. After doing this, she has taken to living with her friend Choko. Her day's now consist of job hunting, fencing lessons from one Sindal Yohlm, and lovingly teasing her two younger Devilmen siblings.

Pink

Gender: female
Age: 30 (has the appearance of a 20 year old)
Height: 5'0"
weight: 80 lbs
Eyes: blue
Hair: light brown
Clothing: black or blue slacks, various pink shirts, or a simple pink dress
Build: petite

Background: Pink spent the first ten years of her life with her mother, Rai, and twin brother, Kadalni. Her mother, quite insane by the time her twins were born, was not the best caretaker in the world. Both twins were used in physical and magical experiments, one of which resulted in Pink's body reverting to that of a very young child around age 10.

After ten years, Kadalni and Pink went in search of their half sister, Dia Rai. Pink came under the care of Dia for several months then, but left her care for that of Cosette, a paladin of Fluffigami. It was under Cosette's dedicated care that Pink changed from a recalcitrant, angry, antisocial girl to a self-assured and happy, if slightly cynical, young woman.

At age 20, Pink was living in Doma with her half-sister, Dia, learning how to run the Jade Dragon Inn. By age 25, Dia moved to Riva, leaving the Jade Dragon Inn in Pink's hands. With an outgoing personality and shrewd mind, Pink takes care of the Jade Dragon quite comptently.

Robert Charles Kliyy, III

Gender: male
Age: 30
Height: 6'2"
weight: 220 lbs
Eyes: grey
Hair: mud brown
Clothing: brown or blue traveller's pants, white padded vest
Build: sturdy

Background: Robert grew up in Middith, a town along the northern Doma border. He lived alone with his mother, with periodic visits from his father, for 8 years. During his youth, Middith experienced periodic raids from Rivan dragoons and the Doma-based gang known as the Shango, and Rob took shifts watching out for these raids ahead of time with other members of his town.

To his mother Mayra's knowledge, but unknown to Robert, Robert's father was actually an active member and leader of the Shango. Desiring to remove her husband's influence over Robert, Mayra hired a mercenary to escort her son down to Doma City, where she would meet up with the two after setting things in order in Middith. However, Mayra never made it to Doma...the reason why is unknown. Robert was thus left in the custody of the unfortunate mercenary in question -- Dia Rai.

Despite loud protestations, Dia raised Robert like her own son. Robert was never without food, clothing, shelter, or love. At an appropriate age, Robert was enrolled under the tutelage of Sirvix Malone, and later, enrolled in Jenna Baseton's School of the Arts.

Under Dia's care, Robert developed high aspirations for himself. He determined to become the world's first and finest hero, amongst other things. He travels the world as an adventurer, keeping a sharp eye out for wrongs to right and adventures to be had.

Christopher Ferran Kilmett

Gender: Male
Age:25
Race: Werewolf
Height:6'0''
Weight:190 lbs.
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Blonde
Clothing: Knee length, torn up grey pants, wears a sleeveless white undershirt with a blue vest.
Build: Athletic

Background:

Chris always felt 'different' somehow as he was growing up. Unlike his father and older sister, both werewolves with fully human appearance, Chris was born with his wolven self visible at all times to the world. He was often shunned by other children, as he tended to act much like a young pup as well as a young boy. Aside from his family and a select few people, there was only one person Chris felt he could count on growing up. And that was none other than Jenna Tymmison. Even through all her schemes of world domination, not to mention what most would consider abuse toward Chris, he considered Jenna his best friend. She was always kind to him when he really needed it. That would all change, however, on one important night.

Jenna had gone missing for several days. While she was known for often going off on her own, not even her family was quite sure what had happened to her. At his unending insistance, he talked his older sister Gina into helping him 'sniff' out the vampire half. When they finally managed to find her, Chris watched in horror as his best friend drank from his sister's neck, mere moments from killing her. The young werewolf snapped, attacking his former friend. She managed to overpower him, starting to drink his blood as well. Just when he thought it was all going to be over, Jenna was gone.

Her family managed to subdue her several months later, but the young 'pup' was forever changed. His sister remained housebound for many months, and he blamed himself for not being able to help the two people he cared so much about. With permission from his parents, he sought out his father's old friend, a Garoujin named Ferran, to learn the martial arts. He trained with the wise wolfman, learning all that he could about self-discipline and self-defense. Eventually, he was told he needed to return home and confront those the young werewolf felt he had failed. His sister, finally well enough to go out of the house once more, assured him she still cared for him, and was never angry or disappointed with him. He found out about Jenna's months of forced reprieve from blood, eventually getting enough courage to confront her. After the two spoke, he realized that despite all that had happened, he still cared for her very much. He promised her that day he'd always be there when she needed him, no matter what.

Today, with Jenna constantly busy saving the world at the cost of, well, nothing, Chris has taken it upon himself to find some sideline work. Having always enjoyed preparing a nice meal, he managed to land himself a job as one of the cooks at the Jade Dragon Inn in Doma. He can often be seen greeting guests with his bishy puppyboy smile as he hands out a meal, or growling and snarling like an animal at his goblin co-workers.

Choark

Choark 2nd Gen - First draft

Unread postby Choark » Wed Jul 23, 2003 10:58 pm

Right, this one is so not being used as a main character in a RP but I'm having this here in case he services are called upon to lend a hand somewhere.

------

Gender: male
Age: 49? He guesses around there anyway
Height: 5'11"
weight: Never weighed himself
Eyes: blue
Hair: Spikey blue with a few natural white streaks
Clothing: Almost the same garb he wore when younger, though a little more battered and bruised
Build: Muscle man

Background:

The Barbarian Ninja has grown much in the past 25 years. He lived through the death of his two father figures, Pig (wind-fang) the Wolf-Pig and his Grand-father, he travelled back to him homeland with his sister Pia and caused quite a stir, which ended in the Barbarian Ninja's being free to roam all of Geara.

Despite the burdens of life however the man has not lost his cheerfulness, in fact He is now a family man, having one known daughter named Apple and supposidly a wife - or at least a female companion - and is very proud of them.

*most of background left out for various reasons*

He hasn't stopped his wondering ways and travels with his family with little sence of direction - or so it seems. A few may wonder what he thinks of his daughter taking his Magical Warhammer, if he cares at all.

In appearance his body is now full of battle scars, ranging from large to small. He has three huge scars on his chest that can be clearly seen, they look like some beast with claws tried to open him up. He looks older and wiser, though the wiser part is just in looks. His inhuman strength has reached its peak and as of yet, hasn't subsided and he is still one of the greatest and eger melee fighters Geara has seen.

Aside from that the Barbarian Ninja hasn't grown much in skills, mearly refined what he did know to a point where he can find few equals in his chosen area's of expertise. He is still the same clumbsy fool deep down inside.

He carries a large black Warhammer decorated in Wolf-Pigs teeth and claws, and is a show of honour for a barbarian ninja.

The day when.....?

Cause I'm guessing

1) use of something other then PS - or at least the use of this system?
2) set some RP's in the future?
3) me making Choark powerful old man NPC?

Hee, well, we just wanted a quick an easy system to use for Chat RP's for the 2nd Gen stuff. We don't want to get rid of Phil System altogether. Least I don't think there was plans to.

This was all just an easier way to have fun with proper chat RP's in the second generation, and Pervy wanted to award XP for puting up with his evil GM plans.

And he has lots of evil plans, yes.

I'll now wait for someone to tranlate what I just said into proper english - or I will after I get some sleep *nod nod*

Well, Second Gen is a different world than First Gen. That's why I'm not using this system in First Gen to this extent and have no plans to.

I'm the only one doing any extensive GMing in it at the moment, and I'd like to use a system that's easier on me than Philsys but still lets reward players with XP. *Shrugs*

Sorry if it bothers you or something. It's just how I plan to do things on my end, that's all. >_>;;

Hamilton Edgemont

Gender: male
Age: 48
Height: 6'2
weight: 240
Eyes: Green
Hair: a faded greyish blonde, finely combed in FFT Knight fashion
Clothing: a blue tunic with a flowing blue cape, which holds the Doman military insignia on it. When in duty he wears chainmail and a mantle.
Build: Solid, not bad for his age

Background:

During the days for when he was younger, Hamilton upheld his duty as a guard of Doma with great honor, and much to his surprise, his job required him to draw his sword more than he would have liked. Yes, in the older days, Doma always seemed to be the center of much activity, be it good or bad.
After only a few months of being in service to the Captain, Hamilton was given a promotion for his keen sense of leadership and his good work. He took his new job without question, and did it with as much skill as the Captain had hoped. It was not uncommon for Hamilton to accompany the Captain, or an angel named Enlil, on thier journeys, always willing to lend a hand or his swordsmanship when needed.
A few years later, Hamilton recieved command over a squad of knights to command as his own, known as the Rune Blades. With the foundation in Enlil's name helping the slums, and a strictly schedualed patrol in the streets, the crime rate in Doma has remained low and kept as such to this current day.
As the years went by, Hamilton found the need to draw his sword in protection of himself or others had dwindled, and had also been leaving the castle on journies much less than before. Wanting to pass his experiance off to others, Hamilton schedualed regular training days within the castle, to have other guards try thier hand at fencing with him, to sharpen thier own skill. Currently, Hamilton is 2nd in command of the Doman milita.

Well, far be it from me to disagree.

Background: Fiore, Keros, and Cerene were adopted by an elf named Leothe when they were born, and much of their attitudes can be traced to his influence. From a young age, the three have been travellers. And, for a phoenix, there are few limits on where one can travel. Each has different things they get out of travelling, though.

Fiore travels for the simple pleasure of it, the wonder of new places and cultures. Keros is driven by an insatiable curiosity. He has made it his goal in life to learn absolutely everything, and seems well on his way there. Cerene is, to put it mildly, an adrenaline junkie. Always out to find new sources of excitement, it is almost invariably her who gets the other two into trouble.

Despite their differences, the three get along well, and will frequently be found together (Although this is often because Fiore and Keros are bailing Cerene out of trouble). After many years away, they have been spending a lot of time on Gaera lately, specifically around Doma.

Fun fact: The ghost of Inverse Stanovich inhabits Keros' mind.

Fiore

Gender: Male
Age: 22
Height: 6' 5"
weight: ~ 90 pounds. (It's all down to the hollow bone structure)
Eyes: Orange
Hair: Fiery orange, short
Clothing: The sort of garb normally associated with scouts and rangers, though his wardrobe is potentially quite varied.
Build: Atheletic and Slim
Race: Phoenix

Caleb Fanrico

Gender: Male
Age: 24
Height: About as tall as his father Ash now.
Weight: Lightweight
Eyes: Light Blue
Hair: Light Brown
Clothing: Usually some kind of Mage robes, preferably the kind Red Mages wear.
Build: Kinda wimpy in the muscle category, but has good endurance.

The first born son of Ash and Christydia Fanrico. As luck, or irony, would have it, young Caleb turned out to be a mage (much to the disappointment of Ash at times). The boy,
being a Red Mage, can at least hold a light sword, which makes Ash alot more happier about the boy's situation, and the training was how the two bonded in their later years. He
has much of his father's access to Doma Castle, and is a well ranking mage there, learning from the texts written by the greats, like Hakaril.

He has exceptional lightweight blade-weilding skills, and through his mother’s side of the family, a good sense and ability for using both White and Black magic. Caleb’s traits as
well come more from his mother’s side. He doesn’t have much in the way of facial hair, at least not as much as his father now has. His hair is also longer than his father’s ever was,
going down a few centimeters past the shoulders.

Caleb cannot stand cruel jokes and teasing, which now mostly come from his younger sister Sammantha. Caleb as well finds himself occupying many of the various inns, bars,
and taverns long the Doma Streets at times. Much more talkative than his father, and more careful with his words.

Unlike his Father and sister, he spends most of his time in Doma, reading, studying, and furthering his magic skills.

Sammantha “Sammy” Fanrico

Gender: Female
Age: 21
Height: Many claim she’s as tall as the Queen is.
Weight: None of your damn business.
Eyes: Light Blue
Hair: Dark Brown
Clothing: Ranging from basic warrior armor to skimpy adventure outfits.
Build: Pretty tough, she WAS trained by her father.

The Second Child of Ash and Christydia Fanrico. Unlike her older brother, Caleb, Sammy has little to no magic skills (much like her father). She was much of a TomBoy growing up, always getting into scuffles and wrestling matches with boys her age. She came by her weapon skills almost naturally, having always been fond of such things.

Sammy does not care about speaking what’s really on her mind and she’s very rude in some aspects, boozing it down regularly and making obscene jokes (usually at her older brothers expense) whenever possible.

Sammy may seem like a care-free type, but is deathly serious when it comes to fighting situations, or if danger is near. She has learned much of her father’s sword skills, almost up to the famed Climhazza Cutta Slasha. It’s because of this nack for adventuring and swordfighting that she and her father are very close. Which leads her older brother to worrying if his father sees HIM as a failure or disgrace.

Sammy likes to hear stories of her grandfather ThornGrinn, as well as tales of other great warriors and dreams of how she hopes to one day became just as great as the heroes she’s
heard about her whole life.

Conversion griefs? Greater reliance on GM figures to check over characters? Unwillingness to convert?

Truthfully, I wouldn't mind trying this out for main Gaera RPs, especially after seeing how quickly RPs progress when run under it.

Dellilah

Gender: Female
Age: Unknown
Height: Bout as tall as Sammy
Weight: *Big Burn Mark*
Eyes: Red with Yellow Pupils
Hair: Dark Gray, usually in a pony-tail
Clothing: Very very eye catching outfits...
Build: Athletic Build and very gifted in some areas.

Sometime between the present and this current time, the Demon Huntsman known as Dark Fanrico was banished from Hell, and currently remains in exhile, due to a love affair
he had with an unknown human woman. The result of this was Dellilah, the very beautiful and almost as deadly spawn of the infamous Dark Fanrico. To keep this demon-half girl in check, the Lords sent with her a small (4 inches in height) demonic companion named Durant. This little imp’s job is to discourage Dellilah from following down the path her father took. He’s very critical and annoying. Having the attitude and demeanor of a harsh school teacher. He’s usually seen sitting atop her shoulders, scolding her almost every chance he gets.

Dellilah’s not too keen on having Durant almost always around (cept for showering and bathroom time) and is not above occaisionally tormenting him. This usually involves
smacking him out of the air, throwing things at him when he’s not looking, swatting him off her shoulders, sticking the little jerk in between her cleavage, and muffling his mouth with her hands when he talks too long or makes a pest of himself.

Although her own attitude often belies her true intentions. Dellilah likes to cause chaos through lies, secrets and other such trickery. Toying with the unsuspecting.

Because Phil Sys provides more intricate and satisfying combat, I think. Due to a rule heavy system when it comes to combat and character makeup more satisfaction comes from achieving something, which doesn't just have to be in combat, in fact. Also, people invest more time in PS character sheets, and thus watching them grow is more satisfying.

Re: OMG!!! Ash has made Stat profiles!!!!! Hell's cooling do

Unread postby Ajil6 » Thu Jul 31, 2003 4:18 am

Name: Ajil V (V as in 5)
Age: 24
Race: Quarter-Elven (3/4ths human)
Hieght: 5'11
Weight: 140 lbs
Eyes: Brown
Hair: From what little can be seen, gray.
Clothing: He wears a thick moss stained white robe regardless of the weather, on his hand are a pair of black gloves, thin enough to show they're just made to keep his hands from being seen. He wears a thick black viel over his face, so that only his eyes are visible. He only has half a middle finger on his left hand, and no index finger what so ever.
Build: Average-slimmish

Rough, rough, ROUGH background:

The only offspring of a merchant family. Ajil was born with no 'known' forbearers to his name, but he claimed the title of 5th at the age of eighteen for some reason known only to him.

Ajil spent most of his years in a house in a small village somewhere (to be determined as of yet.) His father often came and went with caravans, often returning after long weeks with newfound tales, riches, and experiences. When Ajil was still young he picked up what he called "An interest in words." Leading him to have a childhood filled with the wonderful literary experience.

When Ajil turned the age of 14 his father took him on one of his caravan trips. Ajil was excited, like many young boys are, at the notion of leaving home and going on a grand journey (even if it was just to deliver and sell farm goods and so forth.) he, well, left.

The caravan trail wasn't always easy, but Ajil, happy that he was learning the family trade, didn't mind it too much. Befriending one of the caravan guards on one of the trips, Ajil learned the basics of sword play (i.e. how not to stab ones self while showing off in front of ones lady friend.) and so forth.

Ajil's caravan eventually stopped in a town stricken with poverty. This would be a town that Ajil would often pass through on future trips. Ajil could never stand the stench of the place, but as required, he'd remain quiet about it and never offend, or try too, anyway.

When Ajil was 19, he decided that his calling, after going once more to that decrepit village on a mission of mercy, that white magery was his calling. Ajil, however, wasn't content in spending his life studying over tomes and dusty scrolls. Ajil was terribly moved by the peoples plight, so much that he wanted to be the greatest healer that there ever was. Ambitious, to the extreme-o, that Ajil.

There was only one place Ajil figured he could go to gain the abilities he needed, and that was to a temple. The temple in question, being the temple where the causes and remedies to all diseases could most likely be found. And that was, well, the temple of Valkys, the god of disease and pestilence.

After getting permission to make his journy from his family (who wasn't thrilled in the least) he set out on a pilgrimage towards said Temple, and upon reaching there, he stayed there, unlike most followers or pilgrims. He stood outside the temple for three weeks, stopping only to eat and sleep, silently demanding an audience with Valkys himself.

Valkys, amused by the audacity of Ajil finally granted Ajil such an audience, and Ajil pleaded his case. And afterwards, granted said wish. However, he assure Ajil that with that much healing magic, he'd have to pay a great price which would be discovered later. Ajil however, didn't pay much heed to this, and set off to the decrepit town that inspired him.

The first man he healed there was a leper, thinking it fitting that the one with the worst disease be the first to be healed. The man of course, was eternally greatful to Ajil, and ran off, and lived a normal life.

However, all was not well in the house of Ajil. Over the weeks that followed, Ajil began to notice a certain numbness in his extremities. Paying it no heed to it really, he figured it was just part of being a warn out mage...

Unfortunetly, he was wrong. The numbess grew worse and worse each passing month, till finally he couldn't feel anything at all. And what was worse...

His hand had become infected with gangrene, in the course of his numbness he had never noticed what should have been pain in his hand. In fact... he hadn't felt a thing at all! It finally dawned on him, he was a leper. Immediatly he panicked, trying to cure his malady with his strongest curative spells, only to find that he couldn't. He finally understood the price he had to pay. He could never cure is own disease, he could only cure... or take, the disease of others.

Using his gifted knowledge of diseases , he knew he'd have to amputate his fingers to arrest and stop the gangrene. He was humbled, and knew now that he would have to live like a leper. He left his home and took to the road, knowing that he'd forever live as one of the people he would heal.

While humble, he was pretty optimistic about it.

Notes on Leprosy:

Leprosy is, well, a degenerative nerve disease that, contrary to popular belief, isn't as contagious as everyone thinks it is. You can contract it from extended periods of contact (sexually, or anything with body fluids etc.) but it takes many, many, MANY years. No one really knows how people get it, as far as I know anyway.

Also, your limbs don't randomly fall off. Many lepers have lost their limbs because they don't take care of themselves, as they can't feel because (The disease kills off the recepters that allow people to feel touch.) Because they can't feel pain, they can't tell they're hurt without looking at themselves over vigorously, and then cleaning and treating the wound extensively. Generally when this occurs, they contract gangrene and, well have to have amputations.

<.< There is more too it, and the background story. But generally I flesh out the important stuff as I go along. Everything I've done so far has been okayed... does this look good?
[--------------------------------------------]

Also, "Critical" success is whatever the GM decides it is.

Name: Mauerose Il Vuschwartz

Gender: Male
Age: 20
Height: 5'9''
Weight: 10 stone
Eyes: Dark Red
Hair: Blue
Clothing: Simple brown clothing.

Background: The bastard child of Sizer and a runaway from home, Mauerose was taken in by a druidic coven at a young age. Although some questioned his acceptance due to his poor temperament and questionable heritage (which explains his natural aptitude for fire magic) the elders saw potential in him and welcomed him. Having come to understand that he was a bastard child, Mauerose took quickly to the ways of nature, if only to forget the "civilized" world where occurrences such as him occurred. In time, he all but forgot about the world he'd left behind, and grew to love his new lifestyle, becoming a kind but stern keeper of the wilds. So long as he keeps his temper, that is.

Recently, however, he's left the comfort of the woods, to his distress. The elders had sent him back to the cities and lands which he now feared, saying that even a guardian of nature must not be ignorant to that outside of their domain.

Name: Osmond Banosai

Gender: Male
Race: Mostly nekojin, but also 1/8th vampire
Age: 19
Height: 5 feet 7 inches
Weight: 104 pounds
Eyes: Dark Blue
Fur: Black, thicker on face than rest of body
Clothing: Black shirt with sleeves torn off, thick gray pants. Always carries around a backpack (see background for explanation)
Build: Very slim - almost wiry, in fact - and definitely NOT athletic
Other Peculiarities?: Larger-than-usual teeth, particulary the 'canines'

Background: Osmond originally grew up in Smiildale, which was prosperous for the time that he lived there. He and his mother thought he was perfectly normal, but his father knew the truth. One night when Osmond was six, a mysterious nekojin named Jeyekuwa met the young Osmond on the streets asking for his mother. When Osmond led Jeyekuwa to her, Jeyekuwa proceeded to introduce himself as Osmond's great-grandfather. Then came the chilling news - Jeyekuwa revealed his vampiric nature. Osmond freaked out, practically going insane, and this insanity remained uncured until he found Jeyekuwa again in a dream one week later.

Jeyekuwa sent a calming telepathic message to Osmond then, insisting that Osmond was perfectly safe. When Osmond awakened the day after receiving this dream, he insisted that his parents leave Smiildale and travel to Doma City. They refused.

The next day, Osmond woke up to find both of his parents dead and the front door of his house shattered. In fact, the door handle had been cruelly embedded in his mother's brain. That night, Osmond immediately sought out Jeyekuwa. After Osmond told him what happened, Jeyekuwa offered to help. The two were able to trace the murder of Osmond's parents to a vampire hunter known as Kerrigan Meliamne. In the ensuing fight, Osmond killed Kerrigan - after she shot Jeyekuwa with an arrow in the leg - by pulling the arrow out of Jeyekuwa and stabbing Kerrigan in the heart with it.

Then he saw what she had really been after - Kerrigan had been wearing Osmond's father's backpack. Said backpack had been known throughout Smiildale, as Osmond's father had used it a lot in his illusion and conjuration 'tricks'. In reality, the backpack had, sewn within, a magic device that aided illusion and conjurations - though neither Osmond nor Jeyekuwa knew about it.

Jeyekuwa then raised Osmond for the next eight years, after which he turned Osmond loose. Osmond immediately headed to Doma City - still wanting to get away from where his parents had died - and has lived there ever since.

You'd have to age him 20 years. Because these characters are 20 years older.... differenttime period from the normal setting.

Image
