A Question on SteroTypes...

Unread postby wkz » Wed Apr 21, 2004 12:58 pm

Just curious: What are the common sterotypes available in the world of Gaera?

I know there are Pirates by the score, Knights by the tons, Wizards nearing infinity, not to mention deadly Dragons, "I live forever" Elves, and such....

But what about types that are not so common to a fantasy world? Ninjas? "Wild-western" cowboys? Mechanics? Aviators? etc...

(and by "common sterotypes", I mean "having enough of the type walking around, such that even a backward village of Gaera knows about them")

For ninjas, go to Nekonia.

Choark has Justin Justice, the best and only take on a cowboy that Gaera currently has. We have at least one machanic, that being AM's Chandler. As for aviators, we have Pervy's Hanz, who will never ever get over the fact that there's a forge on a ship.

Jak forgot Loake when he thought of aviators and mechanics ;_;

Also! Dragoons, both Rivan and Baronian.

And that's what I have to add.

Oh- And Barian Assassins- They have the bad habit of training good numbers of those guys.

Remember though that they aren't 'common' in any sense. a good 97.9% of the population of anywhere in Gaera is normal civilian type folk.

I would say more than 97.9%, actually. More like 99.8%. Very few people are abnormal enough to be stereotypical.
_________________

You know, you bring up a good point. I would like to add my own question into this fray and tack onto this already made thread. Are there any bards out there? Not people who can just play instruments, but people who go into battle with an instrument in their hands as a weapon.
_____________

Probably not.

Because Instruments are really really bad weapons, due to being precisely crafted, and thus expensive, as well as being not made to actually hit things without breaking.

What about tubas?

More seriously: I believe Duelist's character, Max, uses musical instruments as a form of spell foci, so in a way, they could be considered weapons.

Other than Musicians, what about medics? And what about all the "science guys", any of those adventuring out there?

Idran: Point granted, though I don't consider a spell focus a weapon.

"Ooze-Hugger: What about them? "

Any note-able RP characters of that type?
