If the opponent(s)’s roll(s) (2d6+ INT+ observant skill rank + sense motive skill rank) beat Ethra’s roll (2d6+ CHA + Deception skill rank) then the opponent(s) don’t attack this turn, and if Ethra attacks the next turn any results of rolls normally made to defend by her opponents who failed the check are halved. (shadow magic = 2) Whirling shadow impaler (8MP) or slicer (10MP) : A thin transparent black tentacle-like appendage shoots forth from Ethra’s hand and impales a single target (8 + shadow rank)*2 + 1d6 = 25 – 30 or slashes enemies in front of her (a very very sharp whip) (4+shadow rank)*2 +1d6 = 17– 24
(shadow magic = 3 healing magic = 1) Shadow’s price (3MP) : Dark energy begins to radiate around Ethra, four black appendages form, and shoot out, much like her attacks, however when these tentacles hit their target, they begin to pump life energy into it. This heals the target 3d6 hp, Ethra in turn loses that much hp.

Background: (unfinished)

tossed out techs:
Anger suppression (innate): Going to be used to suppress the insane states draconic people go into without going into their dragon forms now and then. The problem was solved though, so I tossed it out... though in hindsight, I should of saved it.

Dark Xia

a marvel universe character...

Unread postby Dark Xia » Wed Nov 26, 2003 12:22 am

Metal wasn't an element mastery in the book... though in hindsight I should of jsut made it magnetism perhaps.

Name: Esyl Demu’riel
Race: Human (Japanese)
Age: 37
Powers: Element Mastery (Metal)
Description: Black hair, brown eyes, no facial hair, continuous eyebrow, light brown skin.
Garments:
Everyday-life: Depending on the occasion he is dressed in either his ancestral formal Japanese robes, his business suit, or simply a T-shirt and jeans.
Combat: a suit made of metal fibers.

Born in a Yukuza household, he was taught that life is cheap, live with what you get. What he got were several disfigurating aspects.

&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp However, with these ugly parts of his being, came power, though what it was exactly, was hard to discern at first. While eating breakfast quickly one school morning, after a few spoonfuls of high-energy cereal, Esyl let out a shriek that was heard by his mother who came rushing. A first glance nothing seemed to be wrong with Esyl, however his mother was forced to give him an odd look when he told her his spoon had turned into silvery water and gone into the milk. After scolding him for making up such ridiculous story, Esyl was sent to school. While washing the dishes his mother found an irregular mass of metal in the cereal bowl. One morning during his teenage years the growing man had a deep wish not to go this morning, as most highschoolers usually wish. In his mind he imagined the engine falling apart, pipes cracking open, causing steam and other chemicals to be released, spouting high in the air. Needless to say, for this “special” little boy, such a dream came true.
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp At age 18 Esyl was escorted to an unknown location by men he had never seen before. There he was ordered by his father to preform various tests to determine what exactly he could do. After resting his powers on wood, dirt, sand, metal sheets, glass, it was finally determined what he could do exactly. During this time of testing, and the soon to come vigorous training, her was not allowed to show any affection for his father, lest he be punished severely, whipped sometimes.

Metal Mastery
power 1 - ability to detect metal,
2. Ability to gather metal atoms together and fuse them into one solid ball
3. Ability to liquify/solidify metal (5 foot cube)
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Tin, copper, low density metals – 1 red stone
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Titanium, -slightly more dense metals -2 stones
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Platinum, gold, Tungsten, steel -3 red stones
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Alloys -4 red stones
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Adamantium -10 red stones
4: ability to move metal
5. Intricately shape

After he had gained sufficient control over his skills, he was handed a new responsibility: to create ceremonial and actual oriental blades. Learning the art from the clan’s ancient dying master, who coincidently died on the say he had finished his teaching, the cause a heart attack. He forged fine blades, some decorated with gold, others cut hairs into quarters of the original length-wise strand. He took much pride in his work, yet one day, came the inevitable fall that comes to all, whether they have pride or not. One of the swords he allegedly forged broke in a bout, killing a rather important Yukuza as the splintered blade flew through the air, and impaled his neck. He denied that it was his blade, saying that the metal impurity responsibility would never have been missed by his senses. Never the less, he was challenged to a duel by another gifted member of the clan, however he won, and with that battle hid freedom, however he was expunged from the Yukuza, they promised to leave him alone, as long as he did not step into their city ever again.

Powers:
Metal Mastery, rank 5
Self-healing: rank 2
Flying: rank 1 <p>Image

Dark Xia

... character who sadly got put to no real use....

Unread postby Dark Xia » Wed Nov 26, 2003 12:31 am

Name: Xia
Race: Half-drow
Gem: Emerald
Weapon: small shield on right, claws on wielded by the left.
Profession: Druid

Her father was a drow, Dendon, and her mother a white elf, Milshi. The story of how they got together was never told to her, and she never understood why some people gave her and her parents odd looks. At an early age her parents moved away from Bolikor. Her parents had grown to dislike the busy, noisy, and (in their opinion) dirty streets of the merchant city. Xia, who truly did not wish to leave, she was 7, and had lived there al lher life.Together they travelled to Resheif, back to the forests, back to nature. She learned how to be in touch with nature, how to calm the hearts of animals.

At the age of 15 Xia had matured and grown in strength, but she longed to have the power of her parents. Her father and mother grew worried about her impatience, but could not get her to understand. One day Xia discovered a hidden groove, clearing, the trees surrounding it were growing so closely together they seemed to have been created as a wall. In the center she found the dead carcass of an enormous tree. as she examined the stump she noticed a faint green glow from underneath. She knelt down and peered into a space where the tree had been partially uprooted. There was a beautiful green emerlad, and it radiated with energy, reaching down she touched the emerald. "Don't take it!" A voice echoed in her mind. She ignored it and pulled the emerald out of the ground. Soon A cracking of trees and large footsteps could be heard, and a large black dragon broke thrugh part of the walls of trees. Xia dashed back to her home, the dragon breathing fire erratically at her. Her father and mother had heard the disturbances and were as ready as any mortal can be when facing a giant beast such as a dragon. With one breath the dragon turned their house into ashes, and before it could breath the next dark tendrells of shadow tried to pierce it's hide, without success. Milshi pushed her daughter out of the way as a large claw was about descended on her daughter. With her last breathes Millish gathered the energy of light and burned away the leg of the claw that killed her. The dragon tried to shift it's weight to its other legs so as to not lower its head and leave it vunerable to close range attacks. Dendon commanded the dark tentecles to pull the dragon's head to the ground and were able to. "Xia, aim for the eyes! Deep into the eyes!" THe dragon head spewed on last burst of flame at Dendon and killing him before being shut by their master's orders. Xia, still a bit shocked from her mother's sacrifice and her father's demise took a moment to respond, but then quickly dashed to the dragon, the tendrels holding the dragon down starting to disappear. The claw on her left hand glowing with the magic of the emerald, she plunged her hand deep into the dragon's head.

Ever since then she has lived a a life of solitude. She has returned to the land of her birth and away from the place of horrible memories. She has vowed never to seek power so recklessly again.

And on another note...........
Mhhh... someone's done soil ^_^(method by which wierd bullets filled with this "Soil" are put into a gun and then combined together to create summons) I'll definitely have to try to do "mist" then...

Dark Xia

Criticism, advice, and suggestions wanted.

Unread postby Dark Xia » Wed Apr 14, 2004 9:46 pm

Name: Shade
Sur name: Undecided
Race: Undecided, probably "Demon"
Age: undecided
Sex: Male
Height: about 4 feet (sonuds kid sized to me)
Weight: to be loosely calculated later
Hair: Black with reddish tint
Eyes: red
ears: small, but pointed
Skin: slightly pale
Outfit: darkbrown vest, leaving his shoulders and some of his chest exposed, darkbrown cutoff pants, ending right above his knees, laceless matching shoes, and a red (top) fading to black cape, long enough to barely brush the ground.

Personality: Tactless, and blunt, he rarely holds any comments back, be they insulting or maybe even dangerous. He'll butt into a conversation occasionally to get these comments out. He likes to keep a sense of dignity though for the most part, he's carefree.

Backgrounnd idea: Demon Prince
Yes, this is inspired little by Disgaea, and might be inspired even MORE by the game, if I had actually been able to play it. With this background Shade would have begun his tour of the world(s), sort of like what English royalty do. Of course since I haven't actually READ UP on the demnos of Gaera... well... I'll get back to this.

Notes about encounter one:
He's currently under the misconception that what is written in a novel, or any book for that matter, is true. A certain swordsman and "Daniel" attempted to change his understanding without too much success. So far, two options have occured to me. He's being all demon-like and was just messing with the two people being option one. The second option being that he's referring to a higher-plane of thinking that since alternate universes exist, anything could, and would of happened in the infinite alternate universes, thus the books are actually true, just not about this universe.

Notes about encounter 2:
Sorune took interest in this person whom seemed to be at first a 40-year old midget with a taste for red licorice (I'm currently thinking because it's red, like blood, sort of) in a general store. He awas told of vast amounts of evil ("Creature"), and expressed his apprecitation for empathetic people like Sorune. Again, it's possibly him just playing up to Sorune (and getting a whole jar of licorice, SCORE!), pity for a fool, or his true feelings. One last note: he refused to climb up and get at the jar of licorice, which was out of his reach, trying to think of another way of getting it so either it's too undignified for him to do something like that, or he had a bad feeling that the shelves would come down on him.

Flunky:

Name: Undecided, but "Batty" being a likely candidate
Sur Name: probably non-existent
Race: bat-demon, or just bat-like creature
Age: undecided
Sex: Male
Height: undecided
Weight: to be loosely calculated later
Hair: very messy and black
Eyes: dark blue
Ears: as large as a bats and mounted on the top of his head like one.
Skin: Humanoid in form, but covered by black fuzzy fur from his knees up to his neck
Wings: As the likely name might suggest, they're bat-like in structure

Personality: Just as carefree as Shade, and maybe a bit more so. He 's definitel less learned, and only mockingly subservient to his master. However he is loyal to his friend and young lord.

History: Childhood friend, and now servant (or maybe he was then too) of Shade.
