"You may see yourself as such, but I'm afraid we don't share your opinion," Triya said, "Large wolves don't confer legal authority. Now, you are of course welcome to attempt to enforce your will through the use of violence, but that's not quite the same thing as arresting us."

"She doesn't care," groans Rasmus, sounding and looking very much like an exasperated teen. "She's too stupid." His blade goes to rest on his shoulder while he gives Lancaster a pointed look. "Now, are you gonna try arrestin' us or what?"

Oleai winces as the giant wolf barks - sensitive ears and all that - shaking it off and trying to keep focused and prepared for loud noises.

"Well don't goad her on.. This is serious.." She mumbles toward Rasmus, without trying to give away to the enemy just how much she didn't want to fight.

Rasmus gave Oleai a mildly condescending look, until a flicker of a devilish grin crossed his face, which quickly turned more diplomatic as he looked back at Lancaster. He sheathed his sword and spread his arms out wide.

"She's right," he said, strolling toward Lancaster and the Beast. "They're both right. We shouldn't fight. We oughtta just talk it over."

He stopped right in front of the Elvenblade's sword. "Whaddya say?"

"Nah." Lancaster says. "At this point I'd rather maul ya."

With that, she throws her alchemist's jacket back, revealing two pairs of small satchels at her hips, several knife handles poking out. In a single fluid motion, she draws a pair of ornate throwing knives; etched wooden handles with long blades attached by a ring in the center. Spinning them on her forefingers, she catches them and charges Rasmus, Gytrash charging slightly differently, letting his hunter's instincts get the best of him and going for Oleai.

Oleai goes wide-eyed as the alchemist and her beast went hostile - the monstrous animal charging straight for her causes the plainsrunner's fur to all stand on end. She lets out a shriek, "Aaaaaah! Rasmus help!"

Her hands flew forward, the collected energy of her magic and elements shooting toward Rasmus, as opposed to the enemy. A cool wind would sweep up and around the elf, as the air itself began to obey and assist him. His limbs and weapon feeling as light as a feather - without losing any of their destructive potential. Why, he could do anything! (Even take two actions this round.)

Spell cast, her instincts now took over - and Oleai leapt as high as she possibly could, in hopes Gytrash wasn't quite as springheeled as she.

Following her lead, if not with quite as much force, Kyrie leaps to the side, glaring down Lancaster as things descend exactly how she expected them to. As she leaps through the air, she pulls a pair of daggers from as seemingly as nowhere as Lancaster, flinging them at the alchemist in an attempt at disarming her before she reaches Rasmus. Coming into a roll as she lands near the caravan, she comes up in a crouch. She watches Gytrash closely, another throwing knife already in hand as she waits to see if Oleai needs any additional support, or if either decides to make a run for the caravan and their still-exhausted genie aid.

Triya pulled her own sword, dancing swiftly to skewer the wolf in the flank as it loped past on its way to attack Oleai. She wasn't exactly keen on fighting such a large wolf, but at least she'd be getting the first hit in.

Lancaster was attacking him, and Oleai was giving him a boost? What more could Rasmus have hoped for? Still, as much as he wished to take a swing at Lancaster, Oleai would have to take priority. As he drew his sword, Rasmus tossed himself in front of Gytrash and steeled himself for the blow.

The giant wolf is closing in on the tiny bunny, it's massive jaws opening wide to snatch her weak little neck inside of and snap to murderous bits. It's tongue lolls out slightly as it turns it's head to get just the right angle on her...

But Rasmus, wind at his back, soars into a defensive position in front of Oleai, swinging his borrowed sword into the waiting jaws of the beast. For a moment, they colide as literal sparks fly from the edge of the blade scraping against the wolf's diamond hard teeth. It snarls in irritation, huffing and snapping at Rasmus while trying to dislodge it's teeth from his weapon.

Rasmus is more than happy to assist, using his considerable Snow Elf strength to toss Gytrash's head to the side, opening up for a powerful slash down the flank of it's neck, causing the monster to howl in pain. Pain which is likely doubled by Triya sinking her own blade deep into Gytrash's flank.

However, all's not entirely well as the scuffle begins. Matching his strength against a monsterous wolf leaves Rasmus open to a circling attack from Lancaster, rolling out of the way of Kyrie's knife before swooping in from Rasmus' right, giving him a pair of gashes in his side just under his ribs. Nothing that'll be a scar to show off later, but now he's got a bit of blood oozing down his side.

((map is create.

Rasmus successfully taunts Gytrash, absorbing his entire hit and then redirecting most of it back at him for 3 damage, but then gets sliced for 2 damage by Lancaster. Rasmus also regenerates 1 TP through natural regeneration. (23/25 HP, 19/25 TP remaining.) (L8)
Triya strikes with a normal hit for 1 damage. (10/10 HP, 25/25 MP, 10/10 TP.) (K10)
Kyrie misses almost critically; I think she would've slipped and wanged her head on the cart if she had. (10/10 HP, 25/25 TP.) (K1)
Oleai buffs Rasmus and doesn't get annihilated by Lupine Charge. She also regenerates 5 MP from Communion. (20/20 HP, 20/25 MP) (L7)

Gold dot is where the Elvenblade is. ...The sword, not the character. She's not even on the map. I put it there because y'know reasons. Gytrash also wasn't included in the key so he's the pair of dots that shares Lancaster's coloring on L9-10. Lancaster herself is on M8.))

Oleai had her eyes pinched shut as Gytrash leaps at her - waiting that half second and bracing for some kind of searing pain that never actually occurred. When she'd collected herself seconds later, seeing Rasmus actually HAD helped her? Worse yet, he actually got HURT doing so?

That won't do at all!

"Y..Y..you monsters!" She shouted at the sortie - like they would be listening - Thankfully she also had the good sense to be casting a spell.

Making a little bunny-hop (HAH) to her left to bring Gytrash into view, Oleai spreads her arms and splays her fingers - lifting them high above her head, wind beginning to kick up all around her. In her right hand the air seemed to coalesce into a literal spear, spinning itself into a visibly sharp point.

Reeling back - Oleai hurled the air lance at Gytrash with all her strength! Which had her stumble to a knee, but that was quickly recovered.

Cursing her aim, Kyrie quickly recovers from her near-fumble, moving along the cart's edge with another pair of knives already in hand. Seeing that Gytrash stands wounded while Lancaster has still managed to avoid any sort of strike, she focuses her attention on changing that, positioning herself so as to minimize her chances of striking an ally should she miss. With a quick snap of her wrist, she flicks her weapons across the field towards Lancaster, not aiming for any particular point this time, but giving them a wide spread, hoping that she'll find it difficult to avoid them both.

(Moving to M4 and attacking Lancaster again with thrown knives)

Keep moving, Tirya told herself. Lancaster obviously had Rasmus in her sights, so her best course of action was to take some of the pressure off him. At the moment, the giant wolf was distracting attention from Lancaster. Not something they should let pass.

Triya whirled round the non-bitey end of the wolf and came in on Lancaster's flank, blade flicking out to catch her in the back of her legs.

If Rasmus was bothered by the wounds he received, he showed no indication. He had already been grimacing from the exertion, after all. Or perhaps his annoyance was just directed toward something more destructive. Namely, a downward swing at Lancaster aimed toward the thigh. Then, as Oleai's wind continued to lend him momentum, he spun a bit on his heel and directed another upward swing at Gytrash's throat.

Oleai's air-lance strikes hard and penetrates deep, causing a nasty wound before dissipating back into the air from which it came. Hopefully Rasmus will be able to keep holding the wolves attention, because the beast does not seem happy with the current situation. As Triya's sabre slash and Kyrie's kunai throw both knick his master, drawing a bit of blood from both sides, he seems even less pleased, judging by the vicious snarling and slight foaming at the mouth. Then came Rasmus's initial attack on Lancaster, cutting deep into the thigh and causing her to cry out in pain.

And that's when Gytrash lost his goddamn mind.

Rasmus spun on his heel, closing in for a hit on Gytrash...Only to be bucked savagely away by an infuriated wolf. Not just bucked, either--Rasmus catches a bit of air, landing several meters away from Gytrash swinging his enormous head into him. Thankfully, his training paid off and he didn't let go of his sword...Or worse yet, fall on top of it. But still....Ouch. He seems to calm a little as Lancaster transmutes the lower part of that leg's trousers into a bandage automatically applied to the wound, but still...He's probably pretty dangerous right now.

The group seems to be on top, for now...But Gytrash definitely isn't taking kindly to the assault on his master.

((map is update.

Oleai casts Air Lance for 5 damage total. She also generates 5 MP from Communion. (20/20 HP, 10/25 MP) (J9)
Triya strikes with a normal hit on Lancaster for 2 damage. (10/10 HP, 25/25 MP, 10/10TP) (M9)
Kyrie strikes with a normal hit on Lancaster for 2 damage (10/10 HP, 25/25 MP) (M4)
Rasmus strikes with a normal hit on Lancaster for 3 damage, then MISSES his attack on Gytrash. Gytrash then Bucks Rasmus for 3 damage, plus an extra 3 from Froth for a pretty large hit of 6 damage and moving him to I8. He has one turn of Celerity remaining. (17/25 HP, 19/25 TP) (I8)

For transparency: Lancaster casts Transmute: Salved Bandage and heals 4 damage, Gytrash gains 3 points of Froth and then dumps them immediately into his Buck.

Rasmus was quite surprised. It hurt. He had experienced pain before, certainly, but he had never been in a fight quite like this either. There was no time to dwell on it, however.

Scrambling back to his feet, Rasmus was about to leap back into the fray when a thought crossed his mind and stopped him in his tracks. A quick turn on his heel faced him toward the Elvenblade, which remained stuck in the ground and completely unguarded. With the effects of Oleai's magic still on him, it seemed an ideal time to make a dash for it. And so he did.

All too proud of her hit, Oleai's victorious little smile is wiped clean the moment Rasmus is launched airborne and past her right shoulder. Now once more wide-eyed and facing the reality of fighting this beast.. Why didn't she just stay in her shop?

"Rasmus, where are you going?!"

That beast was a problem, and its anger was building. Oleai could feel that much. With a deep breath - she held her ground and kept her calm, watching Gytrash oh-so-closely for the moment it attacked again. Whomsoever it attacked, the elements would defend.

With Rasmus going flying, Triya decided that, in need of rest or not, it was time to skew the odds a bit before their assailants pressed their advantage. "Sana!" she called.

In response, the djinn stuck her head up over the side of the cart, eyebrows raised in inquiry. Taking in the scene at a glance, she shrugged and clicked her fingers before lying back down again.

All of a sudden, Triya was higher off the ground. Yet her feet were still planted firmly upon it. She groaned as she realised what Sana had done. Plainly, the mischievous djinn had decided that the proper response to a dire wolf was a dire Triya, and had scaled her up to match. Not quite the response she would have liked, but she'd have to work with it, she decided, swinging her sword down at Gytrash from her now towering vantage point.

Another kunai already in hand as Gytrash begins tromping and howling, Kyrie frowns as Rasmus runs off, leaving Oleai to, at least for now, stand her ground against both their foes, Triya offering little in the way of defense in her current position. While her sudden growth - surprising as it is to Kyrie, who hopes it isn't permanent - seems to hold Gytrash's attention, there's still the question of Lancaster.

Hoping to keep her distracted, Kyrie throws another knife her way as she circles her away from the cart. "Letting your beast fight your battles for you, alchemist? Why doesn't that surprise me?"

Rasmus flees the small battle, if even for a moment, just about the same time Triya becomes 20 feet tall. He reaches the sword without anyone noticing, grabbing it firmly with both hands, and giving it a strong yank. He's rewarded with little fanfare or celebration as the Elvenblade slides cleanly out, it's wicked Green Amber edge glinting in the sun. Now he just has to get back and use this thing!

Triya is now twenty feet tall. That almost puts her on the same scale as Gytrash, but he's got a very slight advantage over her in terms of raw scaling. Still, the wolf seems surprised to be fighting an opponent his own size, and is battered by a huge blow...Though probably not as huge as Triya had hoped.

While things are going crazy on the wolf front, Kyrie decides to slow it down a bit. Make it a little more personal. She throws a knife, the kunai cleanly embedding itself into Lancaster's side. Gytrash, like before, barks horribly as his master is suddenly injured, but Lancaster takes it even more poorly. Her head snaps in Kyrie's direction and without even bothering to remove the kunai stuck in her soft tissue she charges, and charges fast. She leaps forward, getting some extra downward force on her own knives, as Kyrie raises her hands to block the blow...But with the speed and strength she's coming in, Kyrie probably won't be able to hold the alchemist back...

..And then a sudden upward just of wind takes the lion's share of Lancaster's force out of the hit, allowing Kyrie to catch her hands with little more than a slightly bent-back finger. Lancaster, though...Seems like something might've snapped in her. She leans in towards Kyrie, gritting her teeth and growling as her eyes glow yellow, looking just like those of her wolf. "Ya think yer better than me....Nekana? Yer kind...Lurks in th' shadows...Pretend ya matter. I'll kill ya, kitten. An' no one's gonna even notice."

((Map is update.

Rasmus GETS EQUIPPED WITH ELVENBLADE. Rank 7 weapon with 5+3d6 damage, Rasmus is now the life of the party. Assuming nothing goes horribly wrong. (17/25 HP, 19/25 TP)(D7)
Triya grows 5 ladies tall and gets +2 to all stats. She lashes Gytrash with a normal (if not massive) hit for 10 damage. Triya has 2 turns of Level Playing Field left. Between that and the Elvenblade it's preeettty safe to say the fight is actually over, unless someone does something silly like attack Lancaster directly! (20/20 HP, 22/35 MP, 20/20 TP)(M9)
Kyrie attacks Lancaster directly and hits for 3 points of damage. (10/10 HP, 25/25 MP) (O6)
Oleai is the hero that Kyrie deserves, using Shield to absorb what would've been a critical hit on Kyrie. She also generates 5 MP from Communion. (20/20 HP, 12.5/25 MP) (J9)

Gytrash tries to bite Triya but misses (so I just played it as him being stunned instead). Gytrash also gains one stack of Froth but banks it.

Oleai's attention to Kyrie (apparently!) and those big ears of her come in handy for her next remark.

"Y..You're not killing anyone!" Oleai bounds to the right (J4) - hands poised and wind whipping around them. Her normally-innocent or frightened expression replaced with lips knotted tight in outrage and anger! Unaware that Rasmus was returning with some kind of Godkiller - and Triya had grown into a giant - Oleai was only focused on the alchemist baring down on her friend. Not a single hit was getting through if she could help it!

The air continues to deaden Lancaster's attempts at aggression while not impeding the Nekana in the least.

With a small smirk, a kunai flipping into either hand, Kyrie stares Lancaster down. "You heard her. Not dying today, it seems."

Swinging at her knife to knife, Kyrie's strikes are nearly a blur, the Nekana doing her best to keep focus and forget about the fact that despite her long training, this is the first true fight she's ever been in. Treating it like just another practice match, dodging and parrying Lancaster's attacks as she dodges and parries her own, blade sparking against blade as her awareness tunnels inwards, not seeing or hearing anything but her own fight. A few strikes possibly slip through either side's defenses, but Kyrie can feel the winds blowing around her as her defenses are buoyed by Oleai's enchantments; her expression soon turns to a predatory grin towards Lancaster, pressing on despite whatever wounds she might gain from Lancaster's assault.

In a way, it didn't seem entirely fair to pick on the poor confused wolf under the circumstances. Unfortunately, Triya was quite certain that he would kill them all at Lancaster's command, and she was the type to give the command. As such, Triya kept up her assault, determined to bring Gytrash down quickly, while her advantage lasted.

(Another melee attack on Gytrash.)

Finally, the Elvenblade was in-hand, and it was glorious. The weapon was practically deific. If there weren't more pressing matters at hand, he'd have sat there just to admire the handiwork for an hour or two. Of course, there was something more pressing to take care of, and even better than admiring the blade was using it. Everybody back home would be so jealous.

Rasmus turned back around and dashed back toward the fight. For a moment, at the sight of Giant Triya, his brain did not quite process what he was seeing. Oh, the things that can happen when your back is turned. Still, although it seemed likely that Triya would be able to handle the wolf at that size, he was keen on returning the favour to Gytrash after the beating he had received earlier.

So, as he reached Gytrash, Rasmus swung the Elvenblade toward its neck with the force of an angry god.

Triya slashes at Gytrash, but this time he's a little more prepared for it. He rears back away from the blow...

...Right into Rasmus's charge. Rasmus brings his borrowed sword down, putting all of his strength into it! But quickly finds that the Elvenblade is no normal sword. As he swings, the surprisingly light weight sword suddenly becomes IMPOSSIBLY heavy, throwing him off balance and careening forward. On the bright side, Gytrash's neck is in the way. The beast's head is cleanly removed from it's neck, causing it's body to limply slump to the ground, dead.

In her duel with Kyrie, Lancaster seems to feel Gytrash's demise. Her eyes go wide and her face pale as she looks in the downed wolf's direction. With a shriek, she makes a quick attack at Kyrie, hoping to finish her opponent quickly to tend to her pet. The underhanded stab at Kyrie's shoulder is easy enough to block, especially with Oleai's wind shield.

It's the sudden shank to her gut that Kyrie wasn't expecting. Lancaster leaves her knife hilt deep in Kyrie's stomach, dropping the knife from her other hand and even discarding the satchels of knives hanging at her hips to lose the extra weight. She drops to her knees as she closes the distance, sliding to a stop and cradling her wolf's decapitated head in her lap. "You won't...Get away with this." She sobs harshly. "I'll kill you. I'll kill you ALL!"

She glares at Rasmus in particular, her eyes glowing a vivid yellow. And then she scrambles to her feet, carrying Gytrash's head with her as she retreats to the hills.

And then, stuff starts to get weird.

First, one might notice that Gytrash's body is beginning to bubble and boil, the sinew and flesh melting away from the giant's skeleton. It's probably not safe to harvest him for meat, though oddly his fur seems completely pristine, the liquefied filth not clinging to it at all. Secondly, one might notice the sound of nearby thunder, as what appears to be blue lightning sparks off the bubble of frozen time, striking Triya in the base of her enlarged neck. A moment later, Triya is gone, a pile of giant sized Triya clothing being the only indicator she was ever there in the first place. Thirdly, with the sudden shift of Oansenlig's mass mid-swing, it got away from Rasmus ever so slightly, and now embedded in the earth all the way to it's hilt.

Also worth noting is that Kyrie has a knife in her stomach and is bleeding. It's not the worst wound in the world; it's not going to kill her. But it does hurt like hell.

(I didn't bother to do in-depth calculations here. Rasmus hit for 35 damage which was more than enough to finish Gytrash. COMBAT OVER.

Also I forgot that Elvenblade's sword is named Oansenlig. This has been fixed in the latest patch.)

Though she fumbles here and there, she manages to fend off most all of Lancaster's attacks, to her surprise. It doesn't last, though, as she strikes out with inhuman fury at the death of her companion. With a strangled scream, Kyrie collapses to her side, only barely taking in Lancaster's retreat. Gripping at the knife left in her stomach, her vision fades in and out, every breath bringing a new surge of pain. She has enough presence of mind to not remove the knife yet, at least, but it takes all her willpower not to throw the thing aside.

Oleai is.. frozen. For what seemed like full minutes to her as the battle came to a sudden a brutal end. Not even acknowledging the decapitated wolf, or the fact Triya just vanished - Oleai only saw the knife going into Kyrie's stomach, replaying over and over in her head.

The air was brushing over her face, laying flat her ears. Something was happening? Was she casting a spell?

No, she was running.

The Plainsrunner was at Kyrie's side almost as fast as the Nekana hit the floor, ripping open her hip-pouch for a length of cloth. One after another items came pouring out of the bag. Coins, jewelry, some kind of dried fruit stick; but no cloth. "Kyrie! Hold on! Ohh please tell me you'll be okay!" She pleaded as if Kyrie could just change her mind about being stabbed in the gut. Oleai lifted her poncho up over her head, giving it only a momentary consideration before putting pressure on the wound and around the knife. Heirloom soaking up Nekana blood. "Do..Do we take it out?" She sat kneeling over Kyrie, hand held out for the knife - shaking visibly.

Wincing, Kyrie looks up towards Oleai, her efforts already helping to slow the blood loss. She speaks as best she can, though every slight twitch seems to bring a new bit of pain. "...can you stitch it? If you can't...have to bandage around it. There...there was that village...maybe a doctor there..."

Rasmus swore as he fell forward with the blade. Even as Kyrie cried out in pain and Triya vanished, Rasmus was more preoccupied with the sword. As Lancaster made her exit and Oleai rushed to help Kyrie, he pulled the blade from the hole. It had become light again, much to his surprise. Only then did he turn his attention to the others, and a look of dismay crossed his face.

Somehow, it had failed to occur to him that somebody else might get hurt. The great(ish) warrior that he was did not know how to help Kyrie. Oleai was the better person for this. His gaze swept over to Triya. She had magic. Surely she could.. have disappeared.

"Triya?" Rasmus called.

He jogged over and tried again as he lifted giant pieces of clothing.

"Triya?"

Thunder crashed about Triya, blue light flared in her vision, then she was falling. It was a short fall, with a soft landing, but she laid still for a few moments, getting her bearings. While she was lying on a soft, warm surface, it was dark, and she'd lost her sword in the confusion, along with... Literally everything else, a brief inventory revealed. This might be grounds for panic, but she could make out familiar if muffled voices through the surrounding folds of fabric, and a terrible suspicion began to take hold. She'd just started worming her way out of her own hopelessly oversized clothing when Rasmus intervened, unearthing her in fairly short order.

"I'm alright, Rasmus," she told him with as much dignity as she could muster under the circumstances. For a given value of alright, anyway. Judging by the way Rasmus now loomed over her, she'd gone from twenty feet down to a foot tall, if that, and the front of her undershirt was proving surprisingly heavy to hold in place as she stood up. "There ought to be a handkerchief in my coat pocket. Could you?"

Even the handkerchief, sized for the giant version of Triya, seemed far too big to begin with, but after a little judicious folding, she was able to wind a makeshift sari about herself. It wasn't exactly warm, but it would do for the moment. "How's Kyrie?" She knew Lancaster had hurt her, but she'd been smacked by lightning before she'd had a chance to see just what had happened.

"I.. I can sew but that's.. clothes or something not.." Her hands were trembling something terrible anyway, pressing down onto Kyrie's stomach to keep the blood in as best she can. The red soaking in over the intricate patterns of her tribal poncho. "Maybe.. Sana? Sana! Can you help, please?!" Even as she cried, Oleai began folding and wrapping the cloth around Kyrie - tightening it into a makeshift bandage.

"Rasmus! We need to get Kyrie on the cart, help! Triya.." She turned back, recalling Triya had vanished in some way - only to spot little baby Triya. Normally, this would've been cause for some laughter - instead it only put a lump in the Plainsrunner's throat. Instead she went to lift Kyrie herself as gently as she could - moving back to the cart.

As it turned out, Sana had already been walking over to inspect Kyrie. It seemed there was a limit to what she'd try to sleep through. "Best not to move her just yet if we don't have to," she said gently, helping ease Kyrie back down again, "We don't want to jiggle that knife about. Now, let's see. I'm going to cheat a bit, but we'll still need a needle, some thread and bandages."

"There's some in my pack," Triya said.

Sana nodded, taking it as given that somebody would fetch them, then began a running commentary, "Okay. Pressure on the wound, good. Clean hands." She clicked her fingers, an action accompanied by an uncomfortable scouring sensation on the hands of all present. Another click followed, to no obvious effect, but Sana perused the wound and nodded to herself, "Doesn't look like the knife's cut anything too vital. No nasty barbs either, so we can have that out. I don't suppose anybody's got something for the pain?"

In the end, Kyrie's wound was cleaned, stitched and bandaged, and hopefully the audience (especially those drafted in to participate) had learned something along the way.

"And if something does go horribly wrong," Sana concluded not-so-reassuringly, "We freeze the patient and cart her off to a real doctor." This was probably a joke. Probably.

Cautiously propping herself up with her arms once she's bandaged, Kyrie hisses a bit, but the pain's faded to a dull throb thanks to Sana's efforts. Her own shirt's about as ruined as Oleai's poncho, and she looks seconds from passing out, but at least now things are managed. "Thank you...though I must admit, I'm curious where a genie would have learned to stitch wounds like that."

She looks to Oleai with an unsteady smirk, hair matted about her face and ears drooped. "Nothing to worry about now. Just...mmph..." Arms shaking, she nearly collapses back to the ground, but catches herself just in time. "...just...need to heal. Though...think I'd like to see a doctor still..." She slowly lowers herself back to the ground, eyes half-closed. "...thirsty too..."

"I'll get water!"

Rasmus hopped up from the cross-legged position he had taken on the ground while Sana had helped take care of the wound. He had an opportunity to be useful again! Never mind that it was likely possible for the djinn to instantly provide clean water. He was set to prepare it the old fashioned way, via clean melted snow and a bit of fire to boil out possible contaminants.

Rasmus begins off to grab water. But as he does, he hears a very pointed 'Ahem' nearby.

Elvenblade stands not far away, looking between Rasmus, the rest of the group, and the bubbling wolf carcass. "You've made a powerful enemy today." She says simply, turning once again to watch a cluster of dark clouds on the horizon. "Hope Lancaster isn't the most powerful at Alchemy, but she is what you might call a pack leader. There are dozens more like her hound Gytrash at her beck and call. Worse yet, they're all lesser homonculi. You've not seen the last of Gytrash."

She looks back to the group, as best as she can see them with most of them in the cart and her on the ground. "The Nekana's wound is surely painful, but she won't die from it. The Nekana village nearby may be able to help somewhat, but with the town belonging to the Cat's Eye clan, they're just as likely to turn you over to the alchemists for money."

She then looks pointedly at Rasmus. "My sword?"

"Oh. ..Nnnnooo-oh, I was kidding! Gods."

Rasmus sighs and offers the sword to the Elvenblade.

"When you get tired of that sword I'll totally take it off of your hands for you. Woo-pah!" he says upon returning it to its rightful owner, mimicking the blocking of some attack with the blade at the end.

"...our relationship isn't that bad." Once Rasmus catches back up with her, she begins slowly drinking, still keeping herself stilll on the ground. "We compete, but there's no blood feud...unless things have gone far downhill since I left. The village...should be safe."

"I should...get back to the cart if we're leaving soon, though." Trying to get back to her feet, she doesn't get far upright before her legs begin to buckle and she falls back to the ground with a wince.

Oleai ran up beside Kyrie, slipping an arm down to help the Nekana move. She'd spent the last several minutes standing far back as to let Sana do her work - as if stitching were a major surgery - "Lets get to that village, and get you resting." Her mind was already made up.

They needed to take shelter somewhere as close as possible.

With a slight grunt as Oleai moves to support her, she doesn't even bother complaining about it; she's not going to make any airs about her current state. Letting Oleai take most of her weight, she keeps a tight hold on the waterskin, the bloodstained poncho still under one arm. But for a brief pause to claim the satchel of knives Lancaster left behind, they reach the cart without issue, thankfully without any further trouble from her injuries.

She offers a slight smile as they come up to the cart, doing her best to make it in without overly much help for this part at least. "You were better in that fight than you make yourself seem, Oleai. Probably the reason I'm not dead; I owe you thanks for that, by the way. You really ought to have more faith in your skills in a crisis." She eases into a sitting position against the wall (likely with some help), another slight wince as she makes herself as comfortable in her current state as she can manage. "Ever considered combat training? I know you seem to...edge away from violence, but I'd say you'd be better than you might think."

With a flourishing spin, Elvenblade returns her sword to it's place on her back, then begins off towards the anomaly again. She pauses not far from the edge, turning to look at the storm clouds starting to roll in from the west. If the suddenly heavy wind is any indication, there'll be a terrible storm tonight anyway- Shelter is probably the best thing they can do for themselves. And so the cart turns, the steam horses winding up and beginning to tug towards the small Nekana farming village. But as the storm approaches, Elvenblade doesn't move yet.

She stands still instead.
