Rick expected an explosion of rubber, and so was ready to jump back. The problem with that was the fact that rubber girl's arms stretched, so jumping back didn't seem like the best idea. And he certainly wasn't expecting strangulation.

Vigilant successfully knocked Rick out of the way, but wound up pushed off his balance by his sister's quickly-moving arms.

(ROLL INITIATIVE! I'm kidding.)

Addy flinched and looked over to the room.

"What in the name of all that is Holy..." she began, pushing up her glasses, "What is going on in there?"

Rick got up off the ground and brushed himself off. "Well, that didn't go quite as poorly as I expected." He then went over to make sure that Vigilant was okay.

Blocking Skye's attack as best he can, Vigilant still can't entirely stop it; Skye's a tough fighter in this state. An arm wraps around his neck, but he gets his own arm up in time to keep from being strangled or worse; another wraps around his chest, bruising his ribs even through the armor; Addy and Rick can both hear the Kevlar squeal slightly under the strain.

He tugs at the arms, stumbling back, as he tries to snap Skye back to full awareness. "Skye! Wake up, it's me! You're safe!"

"I don't know," Kestrel answered Addy, folding her arms. "I'll check."

Much as Kes would like to leave Rick to face whatever madness he'd caused, it was beginning to sound as though there might really be something wrong with Skye. In case Vigilant needed a hand, Kestrel turned and hurried back into the room. Seemingly appearing just inside the doorway, Kestrel asked, "Vigilant, need help?"

Maybe he had it under control. But then again maybe not. After all there were arms everywhere. Kestrel had never seen a situation in which something this bizarre was happening and anybody could call it 'under control.'

Addy shifted from one foot to the other, nervously... what was taking so long?
