Warcraft RP: Group 1

Unread postby Jak Snide » Sat Jun 17, 2006 9:25 am

It'd been well over a week since Dun Modr had been freed from the grasp of the Dark Iron clan, and every dwarf in the Wetlands was filled with relief. They had enough to worry about with the situation in Hillsbrad to the North without an old foe stirring up trouble at home. They were also thankful, and this thanks was given to the force that had liberated the border town from the invaders. There was more thanks to be given to the five individuals who not only took part in the counter attack, but also ensured the safety of the Hammer of Ironbeard, intercepting the Dark Iron Captain Drugor Coldbrand and his personal guard inside the tomb of the dwarven hero and putting an end to their evil scheme. Coldbrand himself now languished in a dungeon, shaven and humiliated, awaiting transport to Ironforge where he'd undoubtedly face an even worse fate.

As for the aforementioned five, life had been busy for them since their return. Anlak, a dwarven prospector of growing renown, found his time increasingly taken up by meetings at the local guildhall of the Explorers' League. Dimsdale found himself instantly seized by the Union of Tinkers and ruthlessly interrogated about the performance of the Dragon's Eye in the field. Any free time he had after this was monopolised by Crumbleshears showing off his "latest and greatest creation" and the subsequent smoothing over of things after said creation punched a 10 foot wide hole in the Union workshop's wall. Cassie was slightly less in demand from the locals, though the taverns on the docks were pleased to accept the nice, shiny coins she'd got as pay for her work and plundered from Coldbrand. Even after her pay had been (quite unfairly) reduced by 25%, she still had a good sum of money, and even more was coming in for the continuation of her regular guard work. Anador, the elven mage who'd hired on with the force, made himself scarce. He wasn't fond of crowds, it seemed.

As for the strange creature who called himself Rin Tsu, his life took quite a dramatic change. The commanding roll he'd played in recent events in the region had attracted attention from the higher ups, and he found his time being consumed by nob knobbing with the upper class of Menethil and attending one rather fine dinner. Much to his relief, it was traditionally dwarven and many a fine ale was to be had. Though he wrangled no invitations for his friends, he did politely hint that they would be appreciated. Thankfully the organisers were more perceptive than Kenedy. Or perhaps just cared more. Either way, Anlak, Cassie and Dimsdale found themselves invited to a the big bash.

(Intros and descri-ption of what everyone would have been up to for a week plus after they got back to Menethil. Everyone received 101 gold from Coldbrand's payroll rather than the 51 previously stated, and Cassie earned 45 gold from regular pay, and another 14 from a week's work in Menethil.)

(Also, someone really needs to stop the board from blocking the "scrip-t" in descrip-tion)

Anlak had been taking things reasonably easy for the past week, if you count a constant series of meetings as taking it easy.He seemed to be quite enjoying himself. There's something to be said for the way fame opens certain doors...

Still, the ongoing war with the Forsaken did cast something of a pall over things. Anlak had made it a point to keep himself at least moderately up to date on happenings.

There was also the matter of that accursed hammer to be seen to. Making sure it was thoroughly destroyed was a priority. After the way it had possessed Cassie, he felt much more comfortable knowing it had been dealt with.

The hammer had been handed over to the authorities once the group returned to Menethil. It was dispatched back to Ironforge two days later by gryphon. Anlak had seen the beasts of Aerie Peak at work before, but it was still a marvel to watch the Wildhammer clan rider and his flying mount sour up and over the mountains of Dun Morogh far to the South.

It is a fairly quiet time in the day, as Tsu ponders over his invitation. While he was technically doing he task of administering the customs building, in truth this time was pretty much his own. After a moment, he turns his attention to another distraction, a scroll rolled out in front of him, bearing a number of ideograms.

"I wonder if Toby would know where to find proper grain?" he mutters to himself.
