Machine Knights ReACT

The sky was bright and cloudless over where the mobile base Tirisfal was docked, reflecting a myriad of colors off of its hull. In its shadow, Commander Zaran Lofton awaited his new transfers impatiently. There were other things he could potentially be doing aside from sitting here waiting for transfers, but this was what he was told to do. A good chance to get a small rest from the rigors of fighting the Ariscenian menace on a daily basis. That and it was definitely worth the time to meet the new transfers to his unit.

So he sat and waited for them all to get off of the transport ship, wishing to greet them all as they came.

(Bah. Could've done better, but hm. Intros please!)

A short intro for me!

Stepping off first was, what could only be described as, a huge man shaped frame of metal, obscuring any view of who ever may be behind him. The large intimidating frame was rather spoiled however by the large white vest that was hanging around its chest and a small cap resting on its head with two beer cans strapped to its sides with long bendy straws running from the top of the cans to the "mans" mouth.

"Huh, we're finally here." He says, his voice sounding synthesized (which is basically was), and with a stretch, taking off the cap and hanging it on his side. "Any longer and I'm sure my joints were going to fall apart."

Max Shonen yawned and filled what ever he used for lungs with air. His four eyes on his long flat almost DVD player shaped head, aside from the top being more curved and two long tube shaped "ears", actually blinked, with the covers for them shutting briefly, as he scanned the surrounding area. Making sure to get out of anyone

Right behind the incredible mechanical man was another recruit, seemingly his opposite in every way: quite short, not mechanical, and female. She was currently carrying nothing but a video solitare game.

She looked the commander over, and saluted crisply. Best to be cautious until I get the measure of this man. She smirked mentally as she then thought, I suppose I'm going to have to cancel the poker games until then.

A bit after the short one stepped off, a taller woman--at least average-sized, but likely looking much taller when compared to the one before her, did so as well. She was, though only of average size, at least decently attractive, or maybe cute--her shoulder-length, straight brown hair falling down onto the shoulders of a red leather jacket, hiding her athletic frame. Below that, one could see urban-camo pants, and, of all uncomfortable things, combat boots. One might get an occasional glimpse of her eyes--also brown.

She, appeared oblivious to her surroundings, or who was watching her, headbanging and rocking out to a tune she was vocally replicating, which might be recognized by some as one of Dead Plague Mechanic's songs. Those with possible knowledgable of this song might recognize it as "Rebellion Twice and Now". Others just know she's rocking out, as she disembarks from the ship...

"Twice, re-corruption proliferated, but the chances are zero, so...REBELLION NOW!!!" ...Yeeeeah. VEEEERY professional.

Commander Lofton gave the three new pilots a quick salute... and then, realizing that he wasn't going to get one back from Kanna, frowned. "I was hoping for a more... Oh, I dunno, PROFESSIONAL introduction to you, miss Nansrakii. Now turn that godawful crap down!"

Kanna, hearing it, looked in the direction of the shout, blinked once, and then apologized...

"Oh! Uhh, sorry!", as she hastily, apologetically saluted, and then followed it up with "but it's not crap!"

...It might be noted that she doesn't seem to be listening to or playing anything as of this moment...

The commander sighed. This was definitely NOT the start of a beautiful relationship. "Anyway, I'm Commander Lofton, obviously in charge of this vessel, your Armae, and you for the next 12 months. I would say I'm pleased to meet you all, but we'll just have to see about that. Make yourselves as at home as you can while you're here." With that, the Commander turned and started a half-step into the ship before he asked. "Anything else you want to get off your chests before I start showing you around the place?"

Max replied with a "Sir, no sir." Which seemed to be said with a smirk, not that his face betrayed anything of the kind mind you. Perhaps it was just the imagination playing tricks.

Truth was Max did want to speak to his new 'boss' however he wanted to do so in private. Being put together with a girl who seems just as likely she would want to start her own band as driving an Armae and another who should really be put in the tech department as an junior technician rather then be a pilot had made him less then happy to say the least.

He wondered whom both him and Lofton pissed off at the top brass.

As soon as Kanna heard the word "Armae", her eyes lit up ever so slightly. She spaced out for a second, as her face started smiling, non-feminine events involving the giant war machi going through her head as of the time being.

...She was then snapped out of this daze by the last question given by Lofton, upon when she quickly answered "No, boss!"

“…and when I get back to real civilization, I’ll be sure to drop you a line, aye?”

Another man winked an emerald eye back into the craft, to the blustered female copilot, as he stepped out into sight. A decidedly average-sized man, wearing a new looking flight suit. He ran a hand through neatly trimmed red hair, turned, and walked confidently away from the vessel, giving the commander a casual salute.

“Eamon Cooney reportin’ fer duty, sir.”

Kelom was about to say that she had not questions that couldn't wait until the briefing, but was distracted by the late (not even fashionably so) person coming in. So she decided to wait and see how the commander reacted. I meay be getting this man's measure more quickly than I anticipated. she thought, watching the potential scene.

"AH, Lieutenant Cooney." quoth the Commander. He did NOT look too terribly pleased by this fashionable lateness. "So glad you could join us. Though I WOULD like it if you would stop bothering the damn flight crew when we're scheduled to get your ass on this ship." Yep. Its quite likely that Commander Lofton would make Eamon pay for this later.

Max sighed and considered turning his audio buffers off or perhaps rerunning last nights basketball game over his visual data and let his body run on automatic while the commander done the hard work of rearing in these kids. Well he defiantly knew why the boys had been laughing when he was going on his merry way and why his last commander grinned while giving his orders. Team of crack pilots huh? Max looked them over again.

Commander Lofton sighed and then said. "Everyone here? Good. Lets go." And with that statement, the commander made his way into the ship, just assuming that the pilots (if he would even have CALLED them that) would follow him.

"Alright," started the commander after a moment or two "all you lot need to ksee at the moment are your rooms, but I might as well give you a small tour till I... "

"Commander Lofton!" came a yell, apparently from a young blonde woman who ran down the hall to come to a stop a respectful distance from the Commander. For a moment, the scowl that was starting to work its way into permanent lines on the Commander's face deepened as she whispered... something to him.

"Alright, you lot, I've got higher-ups to complain at. Lieutenant Taidra Hennison here can help you out in the meantime." And with that, Commander Lofton ran down the hall, leaving everyone in the care of the woman who brought the message for him. With a wide smile she turned to those assembled and said "Well, looks like you'll all be with me for a little bit. Anything you want to see first, or should we just go on?"

Kanna looked on as the commander left, blinking once before casually saying "Bye, boss!".

Then turning to Lt. Hennison, she stood, appearing to listen attentively, before cheerfully replying "I'd like to see the hangar."

...Particularly if there are any Armae!
