After Caija finally finished her huge line of questions and gave Fiogo the contract, he let out a hearty laugh. "Well, it looks like someone knows their laws! Alright, now to answer your questions, Maria!" He snapped his fingers at her. She glanced up towards him the second he did so. "Please get the money from the car." "Yessir." She said, hurrying over to the limo and pulling out five suitcases. "You will each be paid the ammount in these suitcases, as well as the ship tickets, and you may keep anything of no archaeological value you find. The Things that you do find of archaeological value will belong to me. I will give you some money for them though. The courts are not to divulge that I have hired Mercenaries to the public, however." He glanced down quickly at the document that Caija had handed him, and continued speaking. "You're going to be heading to Ruistis, considering that that's where the majority of the Raigukai's ruins are. As for the Red Door," He paused for a moment. "I don't really have that much information myself. All I know is that for some reason they want to cover up the Raigukai's death from anyone and everyone. Are they from the government? Are they a radical group? Are they from the church?" He shrugged his shoulders. "Who knows? All I know is now that I know something, they want to eliminate me, although they seem to be doing very badly at it. And let me answer your last two questions together at once. I know that none of you have any archaeological skill whatsoever. However, Sigil has been under my tutaledge for seven years. He will be accompanying you." Sigil Jumped off the ground a bit and turned his face towards Fiogo. "B-but, sir! I thought I was supposed to be guarding you?" Fiogo gave sort of a gruff cough, to clear his throat. "Now, boy, I think you'd best get out and see the world if you ever want to recover your memory." Sigil Jumped again. "SIR! Did you really have to divulge that information?!" He said, turning his body to face Fiogo. "I don't see the harm in it. They were going to find out sooner or later, weren't they?" He said to Sigil without looking at him. After a moment, Sigil turned back to the direction the drones were coming from, remaining silent. "He can contact me, although I guess it's not necessary to tell you how." He glared at Sigil's back for a moment. "So, there you have it." He said, lifting up one of the suitcases and using it like a clipboard to sign the contracts. "Does anyone else have any questions?" He said as he handed the signed contracts back to Caija.

"You beg for an archaeologist and then you worry about me? I was quite the mage in my day, I seem to have made all of you think I was an Erian, didn't I? I can take pretty good care of myself with only one body guard, especially one as skilled as Maria."

* * *

At this a sudden whir of wheels came from around the side of the warehouse that Sigil was standing on. The drones appeared, not in any particular formation, but not crashing into each other either. "Stay where you all are." He said to the people behind him. The aura in his hand grew as the drones came closer. "Dumb things never learn, do they?" he said as the aura grew to be about the size of his head. He breathed out, and a massive lightning bolt hit the tight grouping of drones, frying their circuity and melting their metal plating together. The lighting bolt lasted for about a second, after which Sigil took his hand away from the fallen drones and turned around. "Besides, you people are utterly lacking in magic. You'll most likely need it at some point." Fiogo finished.

Jerry stood watching everyone. Slightly chuckling to himself.

"So all we have to do is uncover a secret organizition, who will then try to kill us, and then find information on a race that's been dead for a while." Jerry looked around at his partners. "Well, I guess we better get a move on, they'll know who we are know. The Red what-ever will most likely find us. I would suguest we try and find them, and come to an understanding with them. Heck if we make a good enough impresion," he chuckled a little at his bad joke, " they might even tell us what we need to know."

A phone rang suddenly. Fiogo reached into his suit coat and took out a cell phone. "Hello?" He said as he turned around to his limo. "Yes, I'm sending them to you. Be patient." He said as he pressed a few buttons. The Warehouse behind them opened, revealing a Helicopter, painted black with red writing on the side that said "SKY SHARK" "OK. Nice to hear from you. Bye." He said as he hung up the phone. The sun was begining to set, casting everyone with a larger shadow. "Alright. Head North by North-east and you should be straight on to the continent." He said, hitting a few more buttons, causing the roof of the warehouse to pull back. "Good luck. You'll be needing it." He said turning his back to them. "Oh, and Caija? I hope you like contracts with burns on the bottom." He said before he entered the limo and shut the door. Maria glanced at Sigil. "It's been fun, little one." She said as she turned her back to him and entered the driver's side of the limo. "Thank you, Maria, for everything..." Sigil said as the limo turned around and drove off, casting the group into darkness. Sigil muttered something for a second, and a light burst from the tip of his finger. It blinded everyone for a moment, until their eyes got used to the light. "Sorry, That's as low as I could get it." Sigil apollogized. "So... Who's going to be driving this thing?"

Ryu peeked inside the helicopter. He'd read about one of these once, but he'd never been inside one, let alone flown one. He gazed around with the bit of light Sigil's spell was giving off. "Ummm...." He said as he poked a few buttons. It didn't appear to have a key slot, but there was a screen. It turned on, and displayed in red letters, "SYSTEM ACTIVATED". Ryu poked a few more buttons, one of them turning on the headlights to the helicopter. "Let's see..." He said as he poked around some more. He found a switch below the screen labled "AutoPilot". "Forget worrying about a pilot. This thing can fly itself!" He shouted back to the group. "Now hurry up and get in!" He said, looking in the back to see six more seats besides the pilot's and co-pilot's. He sat in the Co-pilot's seat, as it was the closest.

"He has better be right about it being able to fly itself..." Caash thought to himself as he headed for the helicoptor. Then he looked at the pilot's seat. All those dials and numbers and blinking lights, all serving some unknown purpose, all looking intimidating.....

Caash settled for standing by the doorway of the back and holding it open for the rest of the group. There is NO way he is going to sit in front with all the unknown electronics, and his seemly gentlemanly conduct is actually so he can get a window seat. If something happens, at least he can bail out, and grab a lucky someone on the way down....

"You know what," Zulian said, plopping down in the co-pilot seat, "I know a little bit about helicopters. I mean, I read books about them, plus, they can't be that hard to operate. Look," he said, poiting to the buttons, "They're almost all labelled. I'll stay here and help you if there's any trouble." He finished wth a smile. In the back of his head though, he had serious doubts. Why the hell would a guy send us on a mission in a helicopter, but no pilot? This doesn't seem right... or maybe I'm just thinking too much again.

Caija sighs inwardly at the semi-burned contracts. She might have needed them, but oh well. Then something caught her attention...
"Wait, none of you know how to pilot a helicopter? What kind of mercenaries *are* you?"
Before waiting for answers, she jumps into the until-this-moment vacant Pilot's seat, and quickly runs over, in her head, the tutorials she recieved on aircraft piloting while the aircraft apparently pilots itself. She does, however, buckle herself into her seat, and begins to move her lips as though she's reciting something. If anyone can read lips, she's right now going through the takeoff procedures to a low-fly glider and working her way through her mental textbook to the Helicopter section. At this point she's removed her cap, allowing the small, tight military braid in her otherwise close-cropped hair to fall loose. She's projecting confidence, though it appears more in the line of allaying her own fears than the fears of others.

"There's a mercenary school? And it looks like our ride knows what's its doing..." She shifts slightly, and appears a bit uncomfortable as she tries to settle herself down from her primed state. It's clear she doesn't really seem to enjoy talking about herself.
"Read the beads if you can." She gestures to the little braid-tie that cascades down from her short-cropped hair with a series of colored beads tied onto them. It's something the armed forces use, and it looks fairly official (though not tremendously clean). "If you can't, ask me later. I'm a little more interested in where this thing is taking us. What'd you do, Ryu? Just punched a button?" She once again begins to flip through her mental textbook in that unsettling fashion that looks like she's both reading something no one can see and talking to someone no one can hear.

Ryu froze. Zulian was sitting directly on his lap. he barely even noticed Sigil hop into the back directly from the ground. What is this? What the hell is he thinking? What's wrong with him? Ryu felt these questions run through his mind. His hands were spread open in surprise. He then noticed that Zulian's head was directly in between them. It was also right in front of his face. Ryu instinctively spat a bit of fire onto the back of Zulian's head, causing his exposed hair to be set aflame. Ryu then instantly realized what he had done, and realizing that someone would panic, he pick Zulian up and tossed him into the back. Landing him right on top of Sigil.

TED'Caash shifted uneasily in his window seat, watching the scenery as the helicoptor shot through the air towards their destination. Not that he was uneasy about flying, after all Caash have wings and are not afraid of flying high.

No, he was more worried about being in a metal tin can, controled by a brainless entitiy who might or might not lead them straight into a mountainside. That, and the fact the helicoptor is flying too fast for any natural fliers, AND the darn shaking. ('Ta-Bu-Lanche, is it?' Caash thought to himself)

The shaking rattled him the most. Always, when Caash was flying under his own power, he could at least anticipate the winds. Now, he just sat uneasily in his seat, looking around for any trouble, and also sometimes stealing a glance at the mercenary pilot.

And of course, both Caija's 'landlocked' status and her unsettling "reading the book" does not help Caash's confidence one bit...

Sigil got up and dusted himself off. He hadn't appreciated having someone flung onto him, especially by one of his own comrades. Humph. That Ryuii had better be damn sure that nothing like that ever happens again. He thought to himself as he glanced in Ryu's general direction. The Ryuii was admiring the clouds, watching them go by more swiftly then he had ever seen before. Sigil sat down in a window seat, his long robes still running on the ground. He then realized that he was bored. He stared out into the night sky, somehow being able to see as though it were day. He saw a bird flying by. "Eh, why not." He thought as he changed the current of the wind outside the helicopter. It didn't affect the helicopter, but the bird had to speed up drastically to keep pace. "Hee hee hee." He giggled quietly as he changed the wind current again so it was in the opposite direction, then quickly whipped up a strong gust and smacked the bird out of the air.

*Landscape description*

The helicopter is flying just below the clouds, over the sea. It is very dark and cloudy, with the moon shining through the clouds every so often. A few dolphins pop up from below every now and then. The sky is clear of any kind of storm. Caija is in the Pilot's seat, and Ryu has sheepishly moved behind it. A flustered Zulian has taken up the Co-Pilot's seat. Caash is sitting in the back seat of the co-pilot's row. Sigil is taking up the seat in front of him, With Jerry sitting across.

He hadn't noticed the Ryuii, since he was glad to be able to try out his helicopter flying, but was dissappointed when he found out it had auto-pilot, and that Caija knew how to fly it. He looked out the cockpit window and saw the landscape spread out around him. He felt the helicopter slow down.

A slice of Caija's Inner Monologue:
"Okay, that's the fuel guage, this is the barometer, that thingey has something to do with steering, but what does *that* do? I can't press it without risking... bad stuff. And I haven't the slightest idea what that guage is for, except it keeps moving around. What's that smell? I wonder how new this helicopter is. Did I remember to bring pads? Don't know how long I'm going to be away. Hope I did. Pull for up, push for down. Why are I here, anyway? That Sigil guy seems more than able to take care of himself in the "blow stuff up" kind of way. What direction are we heading in? Did I bring some meds?"
On and on and on. None of this is betrayed by her face, which has stopped its recitation for now and now is stern, as though she is concentrating fiercely on something. What she's concentrating on is anyone's guess.

Ryu shifted his sword into ready position as he flew towards the mech suit. "...Two...On- Offensive movement detected! Shifting to full offensive mode!"

"Whuh...?" Ryu said as the suit shifted its gun to point at him. The gun began to glow around the edges with a blue sheen. "Damn!" Ryu said, using his wings to get a strong upward burst, delivering him out of the line of fire, and above the suit. The gun blasted a huge blue beam of energy, shaking the helicopter and knocking Ryu out of the air. It fizzled out about a second after it was launched. Ryu recovered before he hit the water, flying up and getting ready to swing his sword at the suit, then moving to block it as it tried to backhand him with the hand that wasn't a gun. It got a good cut from the sword, but Ryu stayed his disance, waiting for some backup.

In the Helicopter, Sigil stood up, dusting himself off again, even though there wasn't any dust to be noticed. "I'd suggest that we all find some way to fight this thing, and fast. Caija, I'd suggest getting this thing out of auto and performing some shaking manuvers. Jerry, Zulian, you'll probably need some guns or something to hit this thing, unless you've got some kind of psyonics or something. TED'Caash was currently angry, and that does not come easily for the demonic. There's that overpowered metal puppet out there that's going to blow up this tin can anytime soon. Yet, even after the pretty little speech by the mage, TED'Cash was still weaponless, and the demonic was forced to stay in the chopper waiting for someone to come up with a decent... something.

Then Jerry came up with a knife. Caash thanked the gods that he finally had an excuse to get out of this mechanical trap, and he moved towards the Erian. "Oh finall.....wait Wait WAIT!!" the demonic almost leaped after the knife as it was thrown towards the armored suit.

"Someone got an extra gun? I'm not that good with them, but it'll be more fire on 'em," Jerry called out from behind his seat, turing around to come face to face with a face from hell. "I NEED A WEAPON!" TED'Caash grabbed the Erian and violently shook him, his eyes still on the flying knife. "Didn't YOU HEAR that JUST ......." Caash watched in disbelief as the knifed lodged itself in the suit's neck. "...nice throw"

A glimmer of an idea occured to him then. " 'Xcuse me" he said as he launched himself out of the helicoptor so hard that the machine shook, the dark body angled straight for the metal suit. It was a risky maneuver, but if he body-slammed and hug the suit while it was distracted and grab the knife, he could do all kinds of damage to the suit's neck.

Well, anything was better than staying in that tin can death trap of a helicoptor.
