The many screams of dying green-people know as goblins

Servi threw on a fake smile at the thought of someone actually being afraid of goblins.

"one arrow can bring down a goblin," Servi said fingering his bow, "Trying doing that with a bugbear or nymphilian."

Hearing what Servi said, Saber stopped walking and turned to him.

"Listen. I said I'm not scared. I know a single goblin is no problem. The thing is that goblins are never alone. When you see one, there's probably ten more attacking you in the back. They are smart enough to lay an ambush, and hardly ever attack when they don't outnumber their target greatly. They can come up with the most devious and complicated plans if they get the chance. I'm not saying I'm afraid, but just that we should be on our guard at all times. I won't feel safe as long as we're in goblin territory..."

Freya walked out of the mine with. A strnge purple Gremlin, about four feet tall and a little smrik on his face. Freya walked up to the group.

"? Hey..."

Frey whinned noticing Freya had slipped right past him. He runs up behind the Gremlin. Picks him up and hugs him.

"Pathos!!"

He said with a grin.

"Yo Frey..."

Pathos said pulling himself from Frey's grip. He dusted himself off and walked toward the group.

"So...you guys is gonna go through da mines huh?"

Pathos looked to Freya.

"Hmm...I dunno Freya. These guys dun't seem as if dey can make it through da mines. I mean, the Goblins' been upitty lately 'bouts the territory. 'The mine ain't big enough for both of us.' They said. I dunno if this bunch'll cut in there."

"Aww let through Pathos. We have to get to the Northlands, and we don't want to be stuck in Goblin territory at night. Fenrirs are all about at night."

"Hmm...*sigh* I dunno...."

Pathos stood examining the group.

"I think you'll find us quite capable to defend ourselves." Lock said to the gremlin, overhearing the conversation. "We'll have no trouble dealing with some goblins."

Saber stepped towards the gremlin. "Are there? I mean, is it really 'some goblins'? Or is it more like, 'endless hordes of goblins, waiting to ambush anyone who enters'...?"

"Hmm....well all I can really tell you is dat when push comes to shove, Goblins always have reinforcements. Don't worry though. As long as you have Magic they won't bug ya. Goblins have a weakness toward da stuff, why do ya thinkGoblins and us Gremlins can coopertivly work in a mine?"

"In other words, with him as our guide we'l be fine."

Freya smiled. Pathos grinned and chuckled softly.

"Yea, yea, that's what I meants. So youse guys ready or what?"

"Dude, can we like get stuff to eat?"

Frey asked rubbing his stomach.

"Let's go..."

Freya scoffed dragging Freya away by the collar.

"Well fallow us.."

Pathos motioned the group into the mines.

Servi walked behind, amusing himself with a little fireball he conjured up in his hand,

"I only know a little magic, not alot, just enough to burn something," Servi said staring at the flame.

The group faired deep into the dark drippy mines. All aorund them Goblins and Gremlins of all sizes and colors mined either precious metals or artifacts from the rock walls. Pathos smiled and looked at the group.

"Waddya think? All this work eh."

Pathos looked back at the group.

"Careful though..once n' a while fights break out...so stay on da rails and away from da miners."

Freya tapped Pathos' head and he looked up.

"So have you found it yet? Lord Odin still awaits it"

Pthos looked down and began to ponder. He looked up to Freya a grinned.

"Of course Lady...Meet me at the end of the mione..just follow the tracks out, and I'll give it to you."

"Thank you Pathos."

"No Prob..."

Pathos sprouted wings and flew to an open cavern above them. Frey rubs his stoamch.

"Aww man...I didn't ask if he had food."

"*sigh* Come on.."

She pushes Frey ahead of her. Zarn jumped onto her shoulder and the group continued onward.

Following Freya, Lock and Saber observed the gremlins and goblins working in the mine. Saber had calmed down a bit, because the goblins didn't seem hostile. After a while, Saber approached Freya.

"Excuse me, Freya. Do you know what they mine here, and what they use it for?"

Freya stayed silent a moment. She scratched the back of her head, than looked at Saber.

".....They..mine ore...and ancient artifacts. The Goblins sell their share of what they mined to the highest bidder, and the Gremlins usually sell most of what they've mined to the Asgardian Kingdom."

Freya grabbed Saber in a headlock and dragged him along.

"My country is very prosperous, we collect all the rare artifacts the Gremlins mine and place them into museums..."

Freya let go of Saber and grinned.

"All you have to really worry about is if one of those fights break out..a fight between Goblins and Gremlins can get dangerous..."

She chortled and continued to walked along the rails.

"Yep...Goblins can be very territorial. They only creatures Goblins let into their territory are prey animals and the Gremlins...and they barely can get along with them."

Freya looked ahead. They were almost out of the mine. Pathos jumped down from nowhere and handed Freya a package.

"There ya go. I'll be seein' ya later."

"Thank you Pathos."

Freya smiled.

"Oh n' here!"

Pathos tossed Frey some smoked jerky.

"Thanks Pathos!!"

Frey cackled. The group continued and were soon out of the mine.

"Okay...we're almost to the Southlands..."

Freya announced as they treked foward.

"Did you see that?"

A Goblin whispered to his digging partner.

"Yea..."

He answered lowering his pick.

Servi shoke his head very slightly, almost as if unsure of something.

"We just easily passed thruogh a goblin/gremlin cave, somethings up." Servi said pondering some more, as he tripped over a root.

He landed face first in the dust, but quickly recovered and returned to his stance, almost instantly.

Freya said turning to Servi and Saber.

"Yeah cause that's when all the ghosts come out...whoooo! Hehehehe!"

Frey laughed as he circled Lock.

"*sigh*...let's go..."

The group continued until they finally made it out of the mines. It was pitch black by the time they made it to the open grasslands. Freya pulled a Sun Stone from her satchel. The Stone began to illuminate in her hand.

"Stay close guys...if you think Frey was kindding about the ghosts...."

Freya began off with Zarn and Frey hudling close behind.

First goblins, now ghosts? This is getting worse all the time. Goblins at least I can hit with my blade."

Saber pulled the sunstone he had kept out of his pocket, and held it in his hands.

"Now, how does this work?"

The Sun Stone burst into flames burning Saber's hand. Frey picked up the Stone and held it out to him.

"You have to mellow out dude."

Frey smiled.

"If you're spazed out that Stone'll like totally burn you alive...Watch..."

Frey held out the Stone. Than his hand was engulfed in flmes. He dropped the Stone and shook his hand around in pain. He run up behind Frey.

"O-okay...so I'm a little spooked at the moment..."

"But it's Saber's fault sis!"

Frey scoffed.

"My fault?! You're the one who's supposed to know how these things work! How was I supposed to know this thing was going to burn my hand?"

Saber said, holding his burnt hand.

"Man this hurts..."

Lock silently watched what happened, and then took his own Sun Stone. He examined it for a moment, and then the stone started emitting a faint light.

"I'm not much of a magic user, but this'll do. Let us continue."

"But... my hand!"

"I care not for your hand. I'm sure you'll be alright. You're just overreacting again."

"I'm not!"

Lock didn't pay attention to Saber, and turned to Freya.

"How long do you think it will take to reach our destination?"

"There's a forest up ahead, we should make it out of there and to the Southland's territory main city, Arcadia, by morning. If some people would stop playing around."

"Haha.."

Frey laughed at Saber. Freya slapped the back of Frey's head.

"I meant you you little munchkin..."

"Oh...*blink*"

Frey runs off into the forest laughing, and Zarn ran off with him.

"*sigh* Come on..."

As the group continued their treck into the forest two Goblins were far behind following their mud tracks.

"Look Wess..."

The Goblin pointed out toward the tracks.

"Yea...they're headed into the Dok Forest...what about it Nevv?"

Wess answered.

"You know what we gotta do don't ya?"

Nevv grinned evilly. Wess grinned and nodded his head.

"Well grab you axe stupid and let's go!"

Nevv ordered as he resumed following the tracks. Wess picked up his axe and closely follwed Nevv.

Servi held his sun-stone out in front of him, calmly keeping control over the powers of the stone.

"The faster the better, I ain't afraid of goblins, but ghosts, take inter-demenstional warp-rifting, blah blah, blah stuff to kill," Servi said examining the woodlines. "And if that Frey guy tries to scare us i'm ripping off his head, I think the world deserves it."

Freya stopped a moment to examine their surroundings.

"Hmm..."

She walked over to a tree and kicked at it very hard.

"..aaAAAHHH...*THUD*"

Frey came crashing out of the tree head first.

"Frey..."

Frey jumped to his feet and moved over to Freya.

"Yea sis?"

"Take Zarn and run up ahead. Tell Boreas that 'The Pheonix will fall...if the Moon is cold.'"

"Gotcha sis!"

Frey saluted her, picked up Zarn and ran off with a silly grin on his face. Freya rolled her eyes and motioned the group to keep following.

Further back into the forest Wess and Nevv continued to follow tracks.

"Hey...what are we gonna do when we find them?"

Wess asked looking over Nevv's shoulder.

"Slaughter them and take our treasure back..."

"Cool!"

Wess replied swinging his axe around.

"Come on doofus, before we loss em..."

The Goblins laughed to themselves as they contnued their treck through the Dok's forest.

"I can't wait!!"

Wess laughed.

"But..."

"But what?"

Nevv turned to his companion.

"Well how come we wants their treasure fer?"

"Simple, you simpleton....do you know what we can do with that kind of power?"

Wess shakes his head, and Nevv slaps the back of it.

"You idiot! We get to pilfer and blow stuff up! And other such things..."

"ohhh...I gets it..."

Wess nodded as he continued to swing the Axe around. This inturun forced his blade's edge into the side of a tree.

Saber mumbled to himself. Moments later, he heard something himself.

"Hey guys stop! Now I've heard something as well. Should we go check it out, or let Servi handle it? I mean, it's not a good idea to send out someone on his own in unknown territory."

"What, you want to go help him?" Lock answered mockingly "I thought the ghosts scared you?"

"Shut up! I'm not afraid! Besides, Servi seems to know some magic, so we'll be alright."

Lock looked at Freya, and then back to Saber.

"Very well. You go follow Servi if you want to. Just try not to get lost."

Servi watched the two Goblins carefully from his spot in the bush, the axe the goblin swung was about a foot above Servi's head. Servi looked up at the axe, lodged into the tree, the goblin quickly pulled it out.

Servi had heard the entire conversation, He poped out of the bush, bow drawn, and pointed at the strongest looking goblin, the one with the axe.

"Surrender or die, goblin scumbags," Servi said loudly, and very intimadatingly, "I'm not afraid to let this arrow go."

Freya watched as Saber left after Servi.

"He'll be okay. It's impossible to get lost in this forest...this forest is home to Doks..gentle forest spirits. If he's lucky...he won't find the Caliburs...."

Freya motined to Lock to continue.

The Goblins looked at each other and stared blankly. They fell to the ground in histerics.

"'I'm not afraid to let go of this arrow!'"

Nevv mocked holding onto his side.

"'Surrender' he says..."

Wess chortled. Nevv drew his sword from his sheath.

"This sword was carved from Daimonds...the hardest Material in the universe....It's indestrucible and invincible...I can deflect that petty twig no problem..."

"Yep, yep...an' my axe is pure steel...a- a handle of Basalt wood...It's pretty and red...hehehe."

Wess grinned. The two goblins readied their weapons.

"Bring it on Human....."

"Stinkin' Human. Stay out of this! It ain't none of your business...."

Nevv readied himself in a stance, as Wess backed away to watch the from a distance. Wess was far enough to stay out of the action, but still close enough to jump in if necessary.

Saber arrived just in time to see Servi run away.

'Servi? Running away? What the hell kind of monster is out there?'

"Hey Servi! Wait up! Where are you going?!"

Saber yelled. Suddenly, he heard something behind him. Turning around quickly, he saw two armed goblins running after Servi.

'Just two? Ok... Relax... I can take them... But then again... why did Servi run away from them?'

As Saber doubted wether he should follow Servi, or fight the goblins, he realised the goblins had already noticed him.

"Alright you ugly creatures!" Saber yelled, as he drew his blades "Now it's my turn!"

Saber rushed at the first goblin, hoping to surprise the creature with his fast attack.
