Shek could tell that he wouldn't like Tango.

The noise, the crowds, the debauchery, the lights. Everything about Tango seemed morally wrong to him. The big, dirty city was no place for a farmer. Least of all Shek.

Shek followed the group silently, his eyes stuck to the ground to avoid the obvious moral deprivaty of the place.

~Maybe if we're lucky, God will drop a rock on it anyway.~

Kalin shook the sleep away as they walked beneath the bright lights of the big city. He wasn't quite sure where to look first.

After helping Rydar restrain Gean from killing a passerby he turned to continue into the town.

"First we should find some place to stay while we're here. An Inn or something...."

He looked about him. On the main street alone there were no less than twenty hotels, all equally sleazy looking, with scantily clad women every ten feet.

Ryo winced some as he watched this spectacle.

People enjoy watching this? That is rather disturbing.....

He sighed and hoped the lady challenger would win. For it was not that enjoyable to watch a lady die. He could vouch for that on more than one level.

Shek decided to give in to Gean's plea, and walked up to an official-seeming man.

"Erm, hello. See, we were told there was this big-casino man out there, and he was looking to hire some people... or do you have any information on any work in general?" He asked, unsure of himself or the man.

Samaritan anyone?

Unread postby bunnygirle78 » Wed Mar 26, 2003 10:42 pm

The man smiled and nodded.

"I sure do know the place. " He said with a grin. "But you know, I've been a bit down on my luck lately. How about a deal. YOu give me. . .lets say fifty gella and I'll tell you where it is."

"WHAT!?" Gean said nearly pushing Shek aside. "Thats a hell of a lot! What's to keep you from lying to us?"

The man smiled.

"Well kid, tell ya what. For sixty I'll take you there myself."

He smiled at them.

"SO what do you say? Sixty Gella?"

Gean grabbed Shek by The ARM and led him over to Rydar and Kalin. She pulled them into a huddle.

"What do you think?" She said. "Its a lot. "

Shek thought for a moment, then said in a quiet voice. "It's not that much, really... I don't see how it could hurt. And if he tries to start a mess, we'll just beat him." He said this all, matter of factly, as if there was nothing wrong with it.

"Good point." gean said with a smile. She looked at Rydar and Kalin.

"Ok I got an idea. You two look all pissed off and mean. Shek you Just act normal. Follow my lead K?"

Gean turned to the man and put her hands on her hips.

"I tell you what." She said shortly. "You show us the way first, and then we'll pay."

The man shook his head.

"Your the one needin the information."

Gean sighed.

"You see those two back there?" She said pointing to Kalin and Rydar. "Well those two don't like a hustle. And Shek well you know what they say about the calm ones. I suggest you do what I said. Cause, I'd hate to be you if they get a hold of you."

Then man frowned.

"Yeah well I don't see them doing anything. You think you can threaten me?"

"Threaten, hay I'm warning you. DO you know what these guys can do to you. I mean," She motioned for Shek. "Do you see him," she said. "Quick at the draw, and he uses ARMS. Do you want to mess with three guys abel to use ARMS?"

"Oh no." Gean said puting her hands on her face. "Did you see that. See what he did?"

The man nodded. "Yeah so."

"He only does that when he is ready to kill, I am telling you. ..you don't want to make him mad. And don't I mean what ever you do don't look at him. Hes not to happy you see, a bit sleepy."

Gean sudenly took on a scared look. "You know, ARMS users are tuff. I am telling you, youd be best to do as I say. Better yet, I'd drop down some gella if I were you."

The man took a quick glance at Shek and the others befor looking nervous.

"Fine, sheesh. Try to make a littel gella and this is what I get. Folow me."

He turned and started to walk down the road.

Gean smiled at the others and gave them a thumbs up.

"Love these jokes," she said nudging Shek in the arm. "Don't you. I swear we could do a comedy act."

Shek laughed quietly to himself, as not to raise suspicion. Everytime the man they followed looked back at them, he shot him the most empty, taciturn look he could muster.

He just wanted to get the job done, and soon. Tango made him nervous.

As the five of them walked on, the man continued to give them side glances, not really sure what to think of them.

He soon led them to a large building that resembled a Castel in many ways, well it would have if it hadn't been so boged down with flashing lights and waving girls.

Gean frowned as they came up to it.

"Well," she said as she put her hands behind her head.

"Well what?" The man said. "Pay up." Gean sighed and payed him.

She turned to the others. I suppose we should go in. . ." Gean was cut off as three girls pushed her to the side and ran up to Rydar, Kalin and Shek.

"Welcome wold be gamblers to our little casino."

Gean glared at them.

"Whats the big idea pushin me over?" She demanded. The women ignored her.

"Would you like to come in." One said.

"The games never stop here." Another said.

"And refreshments are free for those who pay to play." Said the thrid.

Gean sighed and shook her head.

Shek was slightly startled at the rush of women who had thrown themselves at his companions. "Er... I... eh..." He stammered.

You know, if you let me do the talking, we might get farther than you think.
~I'd rather not, as soon as you opened my mouth, we'd be in a ton more trouble than usuall.~

He threw Gean a ~Get-me-out-of-here~ glance.

Gean pushed threw the women, nearly knocking one down.

"Ok! Thats enough! Look we are here for the jobs. Do you know where we can find the owner or not. If not then get lost."

"Oh," one of the girls said as she let go of Rydars arm.

"Eck," another one said as she also let go of Kailns.

"Ah, thugs," the third said and pushed Shek away.

"You don't have any money then." The third girl said shortly. "How dare you lead us on."

Gean glared at the girl.

"You gona tell us where the guy is or not!"

The girls pointed to a small alley way. "Go around there." They said in unison and walked off.

"Honestly, you three!" Gean said crossing her arms. "What would you do if you didn't have me around. Shall we go?"

There was a creek as the door opened and a elderly man walked in. He was wearing a old suit and a strange expression.

"Ahh, so you wanted to talk to me ehh?" He said looking at Rydar. "Sorry but you see. . ." the man smiled suddenly and rubbed his head. "We hired some new girls. . .and I like to check out the staff before they start working. Names Treford."

He sat down next to Ry0 and laughed.

"Ahh, surrounded by lovely women, can't get any better than this ehh lad. By the way, I heard you wanted to play a littel game?"

( I believe you meant Ryo in your last post. ^_^;;; )

Ryo looked over at Treford and grimaced. "Yes I do wish to have a game with you. Of this," He pointed towards the arena where the pink challanger had yet to show up.

"I wish to aquire a artifact off of you if I win. Perhaps I will try and prevent killing you." He said this with a tone of anger, since he was tired of having to wait so long for this man.

The mans smile grew even larger.

"Oh but my boy, you see that game is just for show." He stood up and laughed. "Your not the only one who's ever come looking for my little trinket. And as for you trying to kill me? Please lad, I am old. Surrounded by lovely young girls all of the time. Hell this hole place is one heart attack waiting to catch up with me. So you see son, nothing really surprises or scares me."

He crossed his arms.

"You see son. Death cards have two faces. The one you see out there." He pointed out to the arena where the woman was standing. She looked agitated. "And the real one. You see only two people get the honor of even looking at my artifact. A young girl, and anyone who can beat my fighter."

He snapped his fingers and two girls came to his side.

"Ladies, show this fine young gentleman where to go. Ill see you there shortly. I have four new recruits to see." He ran his hand threw his hair. "I hear one of them is a little spite fire. I love those kinds."

(thanks for letting me know argus. Sorry it took so long for him to get there but The story line I have set up changes with each new post so it does take awhile.)

He continued with the others around the corner, into the dank alley.

As they walked into the alley they saw a small back door. More girls were standing there, only they looked a little less dressed up.

Gean put her hands on her hips and sighed.

"So now what?" She said looking at the girls. "You here for work to? Why?"

"Its the only place in town." A woman said. "We have to make money some how. The owner took over alot of the business here. I remember when Tango used to be a good place."

Gean frowned.

"Whoopee, were gonna be protecting a scumbag. Yay."

Shek looked at Jean and shrugged.

"It won't be for long, at least till we spot Ryo and his group. Then we'll deal with them and go home, I'd guess."

He really hoped it would be that simple, and that no contracts would be involved, he didn't like reading all the fine print, and neither did OldShek.

The back door suddenly opened as an old man walked down the steps and towards the small group.

The women who had been there earlier looked nervous and somewhat disgusted.

As he walked by he waved them off saying. "Your all to old." They all left slowly as he stopped infront of Gean and the others.

"So looks like I have three for the body guard position." He looked at Gean. He smiled and grabbed her hand. "And one young lady to be my new assistant."

Gean jerked her hand away and glared at him.

"Think again. We are all here to do the body guard thing."

He laughed.

"I only need one. So there will be a slight competition to see who it will be. Ahem." He glanced at Gean.

"So. . .are you sure you don't want to be my assistant. You get a really cute uniform."

Gean balled her hands into fists.

"No." She said angrily.

The man frowned and shrugd. Very well Follow me.

Gean elbowed Kalin in the ribs.

"YOu better keep an eye out," she said. "OR I MIGHT KILL THAT GUY!" She said angrily as she kicked a rock against the wall.

Gean sighed.

"Well I'm sure one of my guys will do fine." She said Slapping Rydar and Sheck on the back. "See they are excited about it already."

The four of them were led to three rooms. Their guide, a tall brown haird woman, turned to them.

"Now in you go. Well in three of you go."

Gean jumped into one of the rooms and smiled.

"YOu know you guys can't have all the fun, besides I want to see what this is all about."

And the door slammed shut directly behind him.

He immediately went into a crouch. He faced the door across from him, as he drew his ARM, and set his sabre on the floor next to him, ready for quick use.
