The Kingdom [join in the ooc]

Unread postby Geocsuppi » Sun Jan 26, 2003 2:43 pm

You live/work in The Kingdom. Most everything is peaceful there is the occasional bar fight here or there, but nothing to big. You do your job in and out, work is good, the pay is nice, the women/men are plentiful and everything is good. Then one day a band of strangers come in a start killing anyone they can get to. The soldiers of The Kingdom swarm the strangers and massacre them. The next day a flyer is up all around the The Kingdom that reads:

The King is looking for a group of [3-4]

Strong and stout men/women to

find out where the strangers

had come from

please report to the

palace tomorrow at noon

The palace is in the center of the Kingdom next to the market. Many people who looked at the signs then 'suddenly' had to get something from the market.

Angel stood in front of the palace, a peice of paper in his hand and his pockets buldging from gold he had stolen from some townspeople on the way.

Angel dropped the peice of paper and a quick wind blew it off into town, the paper was the invitation to the palace.

Angel waked in and was greeted by several guards.

As Angel walked up to the guards the guards noticed that his pockets were rather full.

"What's in your pockets," the head guard said to Angel?

"I'm here in response to that flyer that was sent out, and i don't see anyone else lined up here," angel said turning around to make it appariant to the guards, at that several people walked up, he stuttereed and tried to continue, "It seemed ergent, especially after that attack so yuor probably gonna need every sword that comes along," Angel said, as he stared down the guards.

"bah," Angel said putting his hands in his pockets, "i ain't gonna let you have them."

Angel pulled some coins out of his pockets and through them on the ground behind him, were several people ran up to grab some of the currency.

"Now let me in." Angel said pushing aside one of the guards polearm.

JT walked around, his nose currently in a book. Something written in a language few have taken the time to learn, he mumbles various things including "Aaah... so THAT's how that works..." and the lot.

And he walked STRAIGHT into a wall while reading. "Ow!" He stumbled back and put the book away.

He looked up at the flyer, talking about heros, pilliagers, and a talk with the king himself. "Well. This is quite an opportunity... perhaps I should check in?" He tore the flyer from the wall, and walked straight toward the castle itself...

"Sorry to do this sir."

One guard held the tip of his polearm at Angel's face. While another took everything out of Angel's pockets.

[OOC: fighting is strongly not recomended, and from now on if you want to know what weapon the guard has just ask, okkie, no makin' stuff up.]

Angel Held his chin up as the point of the polearm pressed against his check, the other guard rummaged through his pockets. The guard pulled out a small amulet, with a blue jewel in the center and dipictions of angels embrodered around the gem.

"Wait!" Angel yelled in ernst as he held his hand out for the jewel, still keeping his chin upright from the polearm. "It's my fathers he gave it too me, see it has or family name on the side, Weisnger."

Angel, now aloud in, waltzed into the palace. The wals were practically lined with gold, as he starred in awe at the wonderful paintings and ravash red carpet.

"jeez," Angel said with his mouth gaping open, "The stuff in here must be worth alot of gold..."

Just before the guards allowed Angel to enter the palace they removed the rest of his items some of them being his but, Angel's pleas were disreguarded. The only things he was allowed to keep were the amulet and a some water he had. The food was considered stolen and so confiscated.

Anron had just arrived at this village, and he didn't much care for it... A quick sigh released from his lips when he noticed the sign. This caught his attention. After scanning it over, he ran toward the castle wall hoping he had made it before the quota for men was fulfilled.

As soon as he arrived at the palace gates, he saw that the guards were preoccupied with a few other clowns. "I might as well use this opportunity to get to the king first.", he sheathed his lance and began to creep silently past....

Jou stood in the shadows of the castle gate like he had been told to by his new master. It was obvious the guard didn't like him, but that wasn't anything new really. After all a slave wasn't supposed to be liked. His sword had been taken away however, which left him feeling naked. The only times he had ever been out of the arena was to go somewhere else for a fight, or to escort his previous owner, and he had never been out without his sword. It left him feeling vulnerable.

Right now his master was talking with someone while the others took care of the would-be thief. He was a young boy who looked to be a messenger. Something about the king agreeing to consider his request.

Jou's master and the guards were indeed talking.

"The king has agreed to your proposal," a guard said to the other man, who must have been Jou's master.

"Excelent, I have him here with me. He is capable and willing. He'll follow most commands given to him. Telling him to kill himself won't work. I'll go fetch him and you can be on your way," Jou's master said to the guard.

Jou's master walked back to the shadows of the gate. The guard behind him mubled something about having to take care of a stinkin' slave. Jou's master choose to disreguard it as he came upon Jou.

"You go with the guard over there he will tell you what to do."

[OOC: I changed the spelling because I'm assuming that your master doesn't know how to spell what you call your name.]

Jou nodded once, and turned thankful of being given something to do finally. He wasn't sure what it was he would be doing, but it got him away from the man's downward stare. He was impressed the guard managed such a feat seeing as he was head and shoulders taller than the man.

It only took a few strides for Jou to reach the other guard, who had just finished with someone else and had his back to him.

"Through there, pick one of the three halls and go through, they all lead to the same pla-..." The guard had turned around mid sentence, and paused as he looked up to eye Jou. After a moment the man glanced towards Jou's new owner, who waved him off then went back to his duties. "They all lead to the same place."

Jou stood uncertain at the three enterances as the man who was just before him casually walked into one. The ghost-sounds of chanting and cheering flooded his ears slowly. But the halls he walked out onto the red sands from were simple wood and dusty. This was finely worked stone and mortar. He steeled himself after only a moment and stepped into the hall on his right.

(Edit: changed to the right hall to coinside with PSL.)

Angel continued to walk. He turned around to see how far he had gone. A wall stood where a hall should have been. He tunred around with a bit of confusion, only to find yet another wall, both about three feet from him. Angel noticing a pattern looked at where the wall should be and tada, there was a wall. The shuden shock of finding himself in a box was overshadowed by the water now slowly flooding the box. A small end table, a vase with roses sat on it.

A test?

Unread postby Kyton » Sun Feb 02, 2003 4:18 pm

Jou was striding down the hall to the farthest right of the three, letting his gaze wander slightly. It was only a few feet in before a rich, red carpet began, trimmed in gold threads and soft under his boots. It would have been intensely dark in the solid stonework tunnel if it wasn't for the soft glow of wall sconces placed at neat intervals. The man paid little attention to the furnishings and decorations of the place, knowing full well he wouldn't be allowed the luxory of appreciating their comforts. He had to wonder at how soft the owner of this extravegance was though. Soft things were for soft people, who all too often walked on the shoulders of harder folk.

Jou was beginning to feel uncomfortable. The hallway seemed to go on for a lot longer than it should, and there were no doors or windows to mark distance. There was only the brightening and dimming of light as he passed smokeless sconce after smokeless sconce. In a moment of nervousness he glanced back over his shoulder to see if he had even been moving at all.

Jou's shoulder's relaxed as he finally saw the exit. He could have sword he had been walking for a lot longer than he had, and the more he thought about it the more of a chill that ran his spine. Things still didn't seem right to him, but he was told to go through the hall, and so he had no choice really.

Jou hesitated on the threshold of the new room, letting his eyes adjust to the shift in light before tking a single step in. He paused just past the archway and looked around.

Words could barely describe the room. But I'm goning to give it a shot anyway. What wasn't gold was velvet. There were two stair cases that lead down to the level below. There was a blacony on the level Jou is on that circles the whole room. On the far back wall rested a huge throne. A plump man was in a chair, and a slender shapley, and well endoud woman stood next to him, his 'chamber made' Jou assumed. Many nobels lined both walls there was light conversations going around. Despite the fact that they were all whispering it created a lot noise. One other man stood in the center infront of the throne talking with the king it seemed. Because of the noise Jou couldn't hear what was being said. To the left the other halls were visable.

JT took one step and down he went. A trap door had been activated and he was sliding down a shoot. He landed in a basement like area. It was dark, damp, but happy. The walls were painted pink. There are two doors. One to the left and one to the right. The doors look exactly the same nothing what-so-ever points to either [/u].

Jou's body tightened as he resumed his pace along the balcony. It made his step slightly stiffer, but the tension in his muscles made them more deeply defined. He still did not know why he was there, and so followed the rules he knew. Those of the arena when entering the sands.

Jou had always longed to somehow leave the arena, preferrably to escape his lot. He had even attempted to make that desire a reality when he was younger. But now, ironically, he found himself wanting to be back in the familiar confines.

Jou came to a stop just behind and to the right of the figure that was already before the throne. Despite fighting himself his eyes wanted to drift up the figure of the woman before him, and twice he had to catch himself and once again properly avert his eyes. He may have stood a full foot taller than the average man, but his station still came short. A slave was to never look anyone in the eyes but another slave, and was to be silent unless told to speak. So he stood silently, waiting to be recognised in some way.
