Navin sighed.
"...Guys? Okay, any sort of distraction which I might have created is officially completely gone. We need to work a little on our spontaneity, okay? When I make the big bang, you don't go "OHNO WHAT IF IT'S A TRAP". Of course it's a trap. But the point is I throw the trap off balance, and we beat the trap. So, y'know, I'm just gonna wait here for the sniper to hit again, while you people decide what sort of tea you want when you come back. I don't believe I have to explain this sort of thing."
...I die, but I die...no, I'm pretty much dying in vain, actually...

The fecal matter hits the rotary device...

Unread postby Jak Snide » Sun Feb 16, 2003 5:04 pm

(Group 1: Shasti, Deeum and Nale
Group 2-L: Anjelai, Rudolph, Student Soldier 1 and Student Medic
Group 2-R: Ash, Student Soldier 2, Female Student.)

As Ash had instructed, the group split up into their teams, Shasti's moving down the center with the two divisions of Group 2 flanking the trio she led.

As they closed in on the base, all seemed fine, the sniper's field of vision not extending to their current position.

Then all hell broke loose.

Before anyone could react, the rifle-armed student with Anjelai was pitched over backwards, a dozen bullets ripping through his chest, leaving his torso a tattered mess. Rudolph dropped at the same time, his leg taken out from under him by the impact of a round, evoking a cry of pain from the young man.

Anjelai was the first to spot the shooters. A trio of black clad men, shooting out of the top windows of the main HQ building.

The three unarmed rebel prisoners, quite wisely, hit the dirt.

Shasti gulped down but was determined to keep going and headed straight to Navin was. She just had to trust the plan would work.

'Course, this is a classic trp. Its even used in hacking. Leave one area open but with something you want, then take them apart by surrounding them and....'

Her quick thoughts were cut off there and she once again wonderde where the hell her brother had dissapeared too.

The remaining student with an assault rifle, having hit the dirt as well, aimed his stolen weapon upwards at the black-clad shooters. Squeezing the trigger, he let loose a 5 round burst.

And, seemingly to his shock, one of the men keel over backwards, a small spurt of blood flying from his shoulder as he fell out of sight.

(All of you might want to shoot back, move in etc.)

Ash's gunblade roared into action, another one of the black ops taken down by the second shot.

The remaining one ducked back into cover. If that man had any sense, Fanrico thought, he'd be calling for backup.

Nale had increased his pace the moment the first shots where fired, in his mind if he didn't get inside the main building while the black ops were still surprised he was as good as dead. Flattening himself against the HQ's walls he started to look for an entrance.

Nale couldn't see an entrance from where he was. However, guessing from the layout of the base, he reasoned that the door would most likely be on the West or East wall of the building.

(Just to make sure you know, Nale's on the South wall right now.)

---

The medic, as soon as the shooting had stopped, moved over to Rudolph swiftly, inspecting the wound in the downed man.

"Sir, another bullet wound!" he yelled.

The soldier inside the building didn't show himself, Anjelai's suppressive fire doing it's job.

The female students moved forward, flattening herself against the wall next to Nale, drawing a pistol from it's holster.

Navin had a thought.
They probably could quite easily intercept anything he sent via radio. Thus...
"...Damnit! They got m-!"
Navin laid back, switched off the radio, and stilled his breathing, trying to use his GF to make himself seem as unobtrusive as possible. Just another...casualty of war.

The female student nodded, following the young solider around the side.

Nale had lucked out. The door was there, closed though it was. He knew that the one man inside may be watching the door. Then again, hopefully he'd moved too fast for the black clad shooter to get in position.

The lack of gunfire made it easy to advance, Deeum reaching the wall of the HQ building just as Nale and the female student moved around to the East side.

---

Nale heard the concrete to his side explode upwards as a score of bullets pounded themselves into the space he was previously in. As soon as the gunfire ended, the pistol wielding student popped out from cover, firing off a duo of shots before ducking back into cover as a hail of bullets flew out the door.

Nale cursed under his breath, he had no choice but to wait until the student to his right popped whoever was covering the stairs.

"How many are in there?", he hissed.

Ash remained in place, watching the window in case the shooter revealed himself there again.

The medic and the other, living, student from Ash's previous squad moved towards the Com building, eyeing the ladder to the roof with caution. They knew the sniper may well be watching.

---

"Just one." she replied. "I got him once, but it looks like it's just a flesh wound."

Suddenly, the lycanthropic SeeD heard the tell tale "clink" of something bouncing off a stair, on it's way down.

As Nale charged through the smoke screen, he caught his first glimpse of the inside.

There was a door to his immediate left, some stairs leading up ahead...

And that was where the shooter was, he realised as a bullet tore through his shoulder, leaving his left arm wracked with pain.

Then the man above and in front of him dropped dead, a bullet through the chest, and the female student's gunshot ringing in her fellow student's ears.

Checking the stairs above Nale ripped some strips of clothing from the dead man and bandaged his wound. That arm was pretty much fucked so he searched around for some kind of gun he could use one handed as his trusty metal pole was no longer so easy to use.

Clear

Unread postby Jak Snide » Tue Feb 18, 2003 7:03 pm

The top floor of the building was a mess. Dead rebels lay everywhere, no doubt taken down by the mysterious black ops. As for the two shooters, they were dead as well, blood still leaking out of their wounds. Assuming those three had been the only ones who were inside the building, the immediate threat was eliminated.

That still left the sniper, though.

Nale sat down, hopefully out of sight of the sniper and took a closer look at his shoulder.

"The command building is cleared." she said, her voice crackling out the other end on Ash's radio.

A minute later, Navin heard the door on the roof creak open.
