Killeon awoke.
IM: Great; I've got cinematics running in my head.
The first thing he was aware of was that his head REALLY hurt. It wasn't the pointy pain that accompanied a head wound, it was the dull throb of magic. Killeon hated magic; it didn't play fair. EVER! A perfectly executed backstab that should have severed the spinal cord and left the recipient paralyzed from the stomach down, and WOW! I TOOK OUT ONE #$%#*$% STONESKIN!
Next, he was aware of his companions, strewn around him in the dim light. It looked like they were all alive.
The last thing that occurred to him was that he was caged, trapped in magical green lightning bolts. Testing this, he tossed one of his daggers at these "bars." The projectile turned to dust on impact.
IM: Not getting out that way.
Sitting by himself, Killeon had a lot of time to think.
IM: What happened to us?
(OOC: Let the screen go all wiggly!)
He and his companions had been a hastily organized band, all of them hunting a particular shadow dragon. It hadn't taken long; they found the dragon in about a week. It was far bigger than any he had ever seen, but they had never fought it. Killeon remembered his companions falling unconscious, before he had as well. The one thing he didn't think his comrades had seen, was the woman.
She was obviously a mage, and even more obviously responsible for their current predicament. He hadn't seen much of her features before he, too, passed out, but she had been cloaked in black, and giving off a visible red aura. Anything other than that was up to speculation.
With little else to do, he waited for his companions to wake up.
