Enzo sends Sam's body a reset signal. If it wasn't too messed up a restart ought to fix things right up. He would have been more worried if he hadn't gotten any response at all.

"That's not funny. ... Why do you all keep coming back here? Changing things and stuff?"

It had been bothering him for a while, this time travel nonsense and the regular direct interference. It defied everything they had postulated about time to date, as far as he knew. He also knew better than to ask Thirteen, though. She would never have given a direct answer... DA had just proven that with enough prodding she would.

As Enzo is about to send his signal, he just in time receives a reply from Sam's diagnostics - everything is fine, nothing is broken. Immediately after, Sam lifts his head up from D.A.'s shoulder and blinks, glancing around.

"...Hey, how come I'm sitting down?"

"Because you passed out when I told you who I am, silly." D.A. says. She stops leaning on Sam, and smiles up at Enzo. "And technically, technically, I was born the same time you guys were. I'm not going back anywhere, and I'm not messing with anything."

D.A sticks out her tongue at Enzo with that last point.

He looks at D.A., still quite confused. "I passed out? How come? I was just askin' what a-"

He seems to lock up again, but again after a second or two he comes back without any prompting. "...Oh. Um...so I'm not supposed t'say, huh? Okay..." He looks very weirded out!

"...Um..." Glancing briefly to Enzo, Sam lifts up his arm and points to a couple kids coming out of a fancy clothing store with their parents; a bored-looking boy about Sam's age, and a slightly older girl excitedly talking with her dad over something.

"Oh, them?" D.A. asks. "Three days after Winterviel, the girl'll disappear- Sucked into her bother's Deuce. The game in there'll be one of those..." She waves her hand, looking for the word. "Tremendous Man games. You know, the one with the characters we look like already. It'll take her brother three months to realize Tremendous Man is actually Tremendous Girl...And looks a lot like his sister. She'll love the whole thing and become a pretty active soldier for another country's Wunderkind program.

Her brother will be digitized a couple years later, technically older than his sister, after a car accident takes his legs."

She sighs. "Come on, that was too easy. Pick another."

D.A. yawns. "They'll be in uniform by next October."

She begins pointing off kids. "That boy'll dream about the uniform tonight. That girl will go home and need new clothes because she's already lost an inch, and begin mutating six other kids in her class- They'll be the first six Wunderkind in Cardonnay's force."

She keeps going! "That girl right there, see her? Just by the three of us looking at her, her DNA mutated a little bit. Those four kids over there will be human and boring forever. That boy's kids will both be Wunderkind when he grows up- He's mutated a tiny bit, but not enough to cause a change in himself. And then there's a girl one of you actually touched that's already mutating rapidly, enough that her suit is starting to appear!"

She smiles again. "See? I'm not trying to mess anything up. But by being here, we're mutating other kids! And you know what? You can't TELL anyone, because THEN you'd be changing things by AVOIDING spreading it to other Kinds! Isn't it GREAT!?"

Well, she certainly wasn't inconspicuous, but she still had a little bit of grace before the guy spotted her. Emily spent the time seeing if she could spot any fishy packages, or whether the man was in fact ignoring Lauren or instead sneaking surreptitious glances at her. The overall effect was slightly comical as Emily moved about to study him from different angles, all the while remaining out of his line of sight. Yeah, there was no way he was going to remain ignorant for long.

Alexis approaches where Sam and Enzo are chumming it up D.A! She notices that woman has...Wait, that's just an unusually long neckerchief. ...Who still wears those things?

Before he can reply to D.A., Sam spots Alexis as she heads over. Though unnerved by what she's been saying, he still does his best to greet her, with a small smile and a light wave. "Um...hi, Alexis. This is...um...Kristina?" He looks to D.A., not sure if she wants him to say her real name, and not wanting to risk saying the wrong thing again. Passing out is weird!

Alexis ground to a half, apparently not having noticed Sam and Enzo and blinked, looking a little perplexed.

"U...u-um h-hello..." she nodded to the other girl, tugging a little at the scarf. "U...um... have you g-g-guys s-see-suh-seen someone wuh-with a duh-dress somewhere n-n-n-nearby?"

Alexis' reaction was... well, she had been training. Really hard. And she was making progress, but when some strange new girl suddenly starts... touching her, she lost control and yelped loudly, trying to pull away from Kristina with wide eyes.

"P-p-puh-p-p-p-p-p-puh-ple-please... p-p-p-p-please d-d-d-don't..." she looked pleadingly at Sam.

Sam's eyes go wide, and he leaps up, tugging Kristina away from Alexis. "Kristina, Alexis...um...she doesn't really like people hugging her all of a sudden and poking her and stuff. Can...um...can you not do that please?"

Enzo had been listening quietly. It was just kind of something he did sometimes. He was a little creeped out to learn that they were irrevocably changing other kids' lives just by being near them, but it didn't overwhelm him so much that he couldn't focus on how the mood swingy girl was treating Sam and Alexis. He tried to calm himself and be authoritative. He wasn't great at it, but he had been getting some practice lately.

"Hey. Calm down. We're not doing that here. We don't need to go causing a panic."

He looked around a little, to see if they were causing a scene.

"I don't even like talking about things in the open like this."

Telling her where they live couldn't be a bad idea. Could it?

With that, D.A takes her CD player and drops it on the floor, causing her form to flicker. She raises her foot and stomps on it, leaving pieces of the device all over the place, and revealing her true form...A black on grey Wunderkind with long black hair hanging over her right eye. Her left eye is dark and her skin is very pale, almost unnaturally so. She smiles at the group, before...Diving into a LED-Screen map of the mall and disappearing.

Enzo started when DA stepped on the holo device, but he actually squeaked when she leapt into a nearby LED display. He quickly tried to recompose himself and look normal, which failed miserably. It didn't stop him from continuing the charade, however. He looked around to see if anyone noticed.

Do you think anyone saw that? Damn-!

He was, of course, still listening for radio chatter relevant to what was going on.

There is still no radio chatter... Some people look confused- They saw it but have no idea WHAT they saw. Probably not worth worrying about.

I dunno, but I think so! What was that, I didn't know we could do that! Where'd her body even go? Maybe she didn't have one or something? That was weird!

With some help from Thirteen, a pair of 'super chips', and the mall security, the Wunderkind have successfully wrapped up events at the mall, got their dinner on, and even got their pictures taken- Professionally. It seems Project Bluesky is public...In so much as it's acknowledged as a youth outreach program, and they're sending out a Winterveil card this year! And it's a pretty good card. Casey is amazingly photogenic.

For those interested, Anka offers to explain what's going on to the children...It seems, at this time of year, Ettezan and D-52 put aside their differences. The device exchanged was a video phone...Allowing Ettezan to call her parents and spend a day with them...Even at range. It seems even Ettezan still cares about her parents.

The 'Kind decide that, even though they know where she is, they should just leave Ettezan alone. Winterviel is nice and snowy- The whole week, in fact. The city is shut down for three days and everything is peaceful. For once, on Krynus, everything is quiet.

And on Winterviel morning, under the tree...

Twelve packages of grey Argyle socks mixed in among the rest of the gifts.

Special Mission 1: Winterviel- Mission end!

Mission: 10- Stretching the Truth
Location: Deck City- The Deck, Gym.
December 27th, 3756
12:00 PM.

It's a dark, rainy/snowy/sleety day in Deck City- The perfect day for some specialized training. And not just any training!

In the gym, all the equipment is moved to one side with Rivendare and a handful of mechanics and scientists observing. In the middle of the room is a certain spandex-clad teenager.

She's about the same height as your average Wunderkind, and dressed in sky blue and white spandex, the design not horribly unlike a Wunderkinds, except without the clunkiness, and a bit more fancy. On her chest is a lower-case e. It's Ellastic, everyone's favorite super hero! She stands with her fists on her hips, grinning.

"Okay then, gang. I'm supposed to give you some special training while I'm here. You're all stronger than I am, but I can promise I could take any one of you- Even a bunch of you at once. Anyone wanna try me?"

"Um...I think you're probably right, I'm not very good at fighting close up..."

After the mall, it's been a nice, mostly relaxed Winterviel for Sam. He's distributed his gifts, Juliet made a nice Winterviel feast, everything went great in the end! And even better, Ellastic was invited back down to the building to give them actual training! Real training from an actual super hero; awesome!

But this wasn't exactly what he expected. He thought she'd be giving them advice on heroing and that sort of thing. Not telling them to punch her! He doesn't want to punch Ellastic, even if it wouldn't hurt her. Plus she's probably right and he doesn't even know if he could punch her, she's way better than he is at fighting bad guys and stuff. Maybe the advice and stuff will come after this stuff, though? And the other guys'd probably be a lot better at trying to fight her anyway.

Alexis had kind of... disappeared into her own little world as she'd found the gifts given to her, and when she'd finally come out of her hidey-hole, she'd looked a lot more happy and relaxed than she'd been in a long time. She also presented her gifts to the others, in a very unorthodox way. Using piano-splash, she'd done some recordings of herself singing, and some other instruments, and had created, for every wunderkind, a theme-song. They weren't awfully long, a minute or two each, but she'd tried to make each reflect the team-member they were intended for.

Once Winterveil had passed though, the news that they would be doing some sparring made her light up happily. She really wanted to get even better at what she was doing, and she'd liked Ellastic once they'd met... and getting to fight a super hero would be cool. She considered briefly the chips she had... then brought both with her... you never knew.

Enzo pointedly did not step forward or volunteer himself. He knew that he wasn't a fighter and now wasn't a time that he particularly wanted to start trying to be one. He did listen, though. He did pay attention to how Ellastic moved and how his brothers and sisters moved in response. He didn't have as much experience with this specifically, but he felt like he might be able to work with Ellastic to help perfect his brothers and sisters' forms and techniques. ... Except maybe Kid. He had a feeling she might take Ellastic. He grinned a little at the thought, but kept it to himself for now.
