"Hello?Anyone?"He heard sounds.A few players fighting a Dragon!
"Ahhhh!!!!What is this thing?!!!"He held out his daggers.
"Anyone need help?"

"Hey! Next time wait a bit before you start attacking any dragons! I want to try something." Ethra started to glow black again, then with the speed of a machine gun started to launch black semi-circle blades of energy at the dragon(s?).

(OOC: is there one dragon, or are there more?)

Onto the 3rd floor?

Postby ArgusDevilmen » Mon Nov 11, 2002 8:03 pm

( Single Dragon and TK I will ignore your posting untill you post in the OOC forum. )

The dragon let out a roar breathing fire at the waves of energy. Verios smirking at this leaping up right underneath the dragons head. "Dumb Reptile." With that he thrust his spear upwards right through the jaw of the dragon closing his mouth and dealing the final blow. Breaking away from it he jumped back as the dragon fell to the ground kicking up a cloud of dust before vanishing.

Saried started to walk ahead as Verios looked at Ethra. "You need to be more careful. That fire could of burnt you to a crisp." Saying this he shouldered his spear once more grinning. "Now cmon, the third floor is just ahead." Saying this he walked after Saried.

"You had pissed him off enough already attacking like that and he was concentrating on you. Besides, when fighting someone who looked sort of like you.. wouldn't you hesistate?" Ethra went silent and followed.

Verios glanced back at her for a moment grimacing. Saried sat at the top of the stairs leading down to the next level quietly wagging his tail back and forth. Verios walked up to him patting him on the head looking back to Ethra once more to make sure she was still following. Then he began his decent into the darkness below, Saried close behind. "What was on this floor.... Was it that Metal giant? Or was it the Giant skeleton......" Verios shrugged and stepped out onto the 3rd floor glancing around. "Well I'll find out soon enough."

YOu're starting to sound wierd, after all YOU ARE NOT really a dragon-half.

Verios glanced back at her slowly. "5 last time I was here. Although you never know, there may be more now." Shrugging he continued walking down the cavern with Saried, keeping a eye out for a monster or traps.

Hmm.. I wonder how long I've been on? I have homework to do later.

Comon, let's get through this dungeon first.

Ethra smiled a bit, "Looks all clear, but with my luck, some shadow creature will pop-up out of nowhere and attack from behind right about now..."

Verios slowed down then slowly stopping. "Oh yes... thats right..." Turning around he pointed his spear behind Ethra. "Yo, Cyclops behind you." Saried turned to look as well growling at the one eyed club wielder. "Ill let you handle this one Ethra, if you think you can."

"Ah, the stupid one-eyed, teh, they're supposed to be harder than dragons? Give me a break." Ethra took out the her short sword with the white jewel this time. As soon as it was unsheathed a blinding flash filled the room.

Whos said he was stupid?

Postby ArgusDevilmen » Tue Nov 12, 2002 1:16 am

The cyclops chuckled hardily grumbling as the bright light filled the room. Waving his huge right hand he began to chant a spell, quickly finishing and launching a fairly sized fireball at Ethra.

Verios raised a index finger as if he just remembered something. "Oh, did I neglect to mention they are Cyclops mages?" Saried shook his head and watched to see what Ethra would do.

"Thank you." Ethra said briefly, "Magic deflection!" Ethra swung her sword through the air sending what seemed like a ripple through space at the fireball. While her other hand seemed to be gathering light, needles of light were flying into her hand, building up into a ball, suddenly that ball solidified into a solid white object. "Catch!" She threw it at the cyclops.

The cyclops chuckled and went flying backwards into a wall from the ball as it hit him in chest. He groaned and stood back up summoning up another fireball and tossing at Ethra running behind it club swinging about.

Verios chuckled quietly as he watched. For a low level shes not half bad. But we will see what shes capable of at the 5th floor boss... Saried growled watching anxiously.

And back to the one who wants bloody answers....

Postby Dragon Sage007 » Tue Nov 12, 2002 6:06 pm

After a not-so-quick trip to the town shops, the druid was bristling with magical restoratives, warding amulets, hiking gear, ropes, and various other travelling paraphenalia, the Druid returned to the log-in point.
"You do realize that this is farther than I've ever gone before, correct? I've never had a reason to visit it, and this will likely take all of my strength, just to get some answers. You can still back out, if you want. But I want to know what is going on. Why blood can be here. And why Reyta seems so much more real now."

Reht, too, was armed with all manner of useful adventuring equipment, potions, throwing weapons, ect. He was running through his mind all the different techniques he knew, along with the measly assortment of spells he had aquired to round out his skills.
In response to the druid's comment, he snorted. "You think you're the only one who wants this world to stay as enjoyable as it is? I'm in this one knee deep, just like you are. I have my own reasons, but I want Reyta to stay Reyta, not become some twisted parrody of real life. For that, I'm willing to go OOC for as long as it takes, God Mode as much as I have to, and if necessary, hack like Satan himself. But if all we have to do is get through the Gaia's Cleft, then it should be a piece of cake. Verios made it through, and I'm only a few levels behind him. The two of us should have no problem."

fire!

Postby Dark Xia » Tue Nov 12, 2002 6:35 pm

The white object hit the fireball head on, and for a second a screen of liquid sprayed forth, then became a flaming screen of liquid, igninted by the fireball. Thus covering the charging cyclopes in flames. With another movement of her hands Ethra quickly dashed around the flailing beast, jumped, and with percision stabbed it in the back of its neck. After the deed was done Ethra stood their sheathing her sword, "So then.... what's next?"

Why the hell did I come along, what's the point of fighting these guys?

There is no point, save that you like to hack and slash them to pieces.

Shut up.

You first.

Whatever...

Kite looked at Alyrra and said, "Let's go get the supplies chose anything you want, it's all on him."

Kite nodded his head at the man flaunting his money, and smacking the waitresses buttocks. (OOC: I would say the slang word, but I'm not sure if I can.) Kite walked over and asked the man if he would join him outside. The man for some reason accepted, maybe it was the small poke from Kite's dagger that he felt in his back. Once outside Kite led him to an alley where he promtly hit the man in the head with the back of his dagger. The man fell like a rock. Kite took his money, and walked back into the bar to meet Alyrra.

The trap filled 4th.

Postby ArgusDevilmen » Tue Nov 12, 2002 8:29 pm

Verios shrugged, then turned away from her heading down deeper into the cave. Before long they were heading down to the fourth floor. "Alright....... We are almost there....." Verios cracked his neck loudly and gripped his spear. "This floor is special.... Its nothing but traps..." He looked back to her slowly. "For your class and race this shouldnt be much of a problem so I will go on ahead...." Verios paused for a moment before rushing off down the hall arrows launching out of the walls behind him. After a few more feet the arrows changed to spears which he leapt over with ease. Next the floor gave way under him as he jumped from one safe spot to the next. Finally, the final trap was a multiple amount of large swinging pendalums. He waited patiently timing his movements so as to make to the stairs to the final floor without a scratch. "Hmm last time I got knicked by the spears and the pendalums......"

Saried growled and proceeded as well, avoiding everything with incredible ease. Far more than Verios. Perhaps the reason being that he was much smaller and more agile. In about 4 minutes he also arrived at the other end beside Verios. "Lets hope the girl is fast, eh?" The two of them looked at each other and waited for Ethra to arrive.

"Should be... easy... for... me?" Ethra sighed and blinked. "Great, great.. never faced something like.. this.. okay.. heh.. here's an idea."

"Light within me give me your speed, let me shoot off into the inifinities of space with your quickness."

Ethra began to glow yellow, and then another smile crossed her face. "These are jsut traps, and have no mind of their own to resist this with so..."

"Time, gentle companion, stop your rushed movements and relax for a moment please, STOP!"

The pendalums and other devices begam to slow, then stop. "So it actually worked..." Ethra said, panting, this was taking a lot out of her. "Let's hope I got all fo the room."

Ethra sprinted across the room, dashing madly, time had stopped, but a sharp spike in the floor, or an arrow hanging in midair was still a pointy object that would impale her if she was clumsy. As she leaped across one pit she almost landed in another as she stood tettering, her arms flailing, as the one toe she was standing on swung back and forth. After a second she fell backward onto the flor, her head landing a centimeter before a spike embedded in the floor. She rubbed her butt for a sec, then with new fonud urgency stood up and sprinted down the path again, jumping over the pendalums that were frozen in the path. She felt the spell falter, and with one last lunge made it over the last pendalum before time took hold of the room once more and continued. She lay on the ground, her face smashed into the first step of the stairs, panting, her hair flung over her face and some up on the stairs.

"Good to know I hired you in good faith then. Come on, Verios isn't going to wait forever. And I fear for the young woman he has with him as well." With that, the druid hopped onto the log-in platform, embracing the rush that changing servers always gave him. But as everything did now, it seemed more...real. It was almost a relief to come to the monster ridden Gaia. The druid waited patiently for the other to join him, and remarked upon something he had overlooked.
"Gaia....in other words, my power is heightened, being a druid. Being surrounded by the earth itself...the power is almost intoxicating. I'll probably come back again sometime. after all this is over with, mind you. I almost can't wait to go back to that hellhole they call High School."

Ethra reluctantly stepped forward and took the lead, she was still glowing yellow, and as far as she was concerned she was going to KEEP on glowing yellow until this guardian was reduced to dust or whatever small particles she could manage to turn it into.

Verios blinked as she walked up to the light. Glancing upwards he went wide eyed for a moment before jumping infront of her scooping her up in his arms and jumping backwards away from the light. Just as he jumped back a large stone crashed down where she just was, followed by a large amount of others that began to circle around the Light. They began to attach to it, forming a large rock hard golem. "That, is the Guardian of this place....."

He placed her down, Saried running over to Verios. "Wasn't it just rock last time?" Verios grimaced and nodded slowly. "Yeah it was... I wonder why it has the red light in its chest..." Verios shook it off as he flung his spear into his hands. "No matter! It wont be able to get in my way again!" Saying this he began to prepare for attacking. Saried meanwhile crouching down getting ready to pounce upon it in some manner.

The guardian began to stand up the hall shaking violently as he did so. He stared down at the party with glowing yellow eyes. Other than the stare he did nothing but stand there, upright and rigid.

Men'drakk'ar loped along at a pace which far outstripped the low level monsters in the area, reducing his need to fight almost to nil. Eventually he came across a small village - one of the few villages that had sprung up as a PC base of operations during the first few months. It was along a major road, and roughly in the middle of three popular challenging low level adventuring sites, so was popular among the less experienced players.

Stepping onto the login platform in the village's centre, Mendrakk'ar said "The Amber Oracle Clan Spirit Chamber". He felt the buzz that meant the transfer was taking place, and found himself in the Spirit Chamber's antechamber. Pushing open the doors and stepping inside, he paused to appreciate the beauty of the room - it was circular, and hewn from the living rock, veins of precious stones pulsed with an eerie luminescent light along it's walls.

Sitting in the middle of the chamber, Men'drakk'ar opened his mind, letting the voices of the spirits fill his head, asking them for guidance.

Abruptly his eyes shot open.

'Gaia's Cleft.'

The Newbie Brigade!

Postby Spleen » Wed Nov 13, 2002 7:59 am

A veritable crowd flew by Reht and the druid into the mouth of the cave. There appeared to be eleven or so people. Leading the charge was Zephyr, blade in hand and yelling war cries that recalled the days when his guild was the top hacking community in Reyta (like "DYNAMIC RANDOM TEXTURE SHIFTING!"). Behind him was the famous and ever-changing Newbie Brigade, made up of nine complete newbies from his clan and their permanent commander, Taril. They were the ultimate cannon fodder and were doubtless not going to make it through the first floor, but they were being payed more than enough to compensate for their obviously eventual deaths. They barreled headlong into Gaia's Cleft, still yelling.

Great, I had to be saved like a "damsil in distress."

Aww, who cares, at least you didn't have to reconnect...

True.

Ethra got out her light blade, taking a few steps back from the golem, and started to contiuously fire a beam of light at the red thing on its chest, hoping it was a weakspot.

ArgusDevilmen

Not a pretty site.

Postby ArgusDevilmen » Wed Nov 13, 2002 3:53 pm

The Golem quickly reacted to the light beam, she was safe in assuming the red ball was the weakspot. But getting to it was another manner. As the beam was just about the start hitting a large rock slid around infront of the ball, guarding it. It began to summon a large boulder, about the size of its head. After grasping it firmly in its large stone hands he hurled it at Ethra with ease.

Verios saw this and grumbled to himself. "Damnit... Never go for the weak point first!" Rushing over he pushed her out of the way raising his spear to block the boulder. Unfortantely, with the solid rock pushing up against his spear, he was quickly flung back the boulder flying along into a wall shaking the area. Blood slowly flowing out from the crater in the wall the impact caused.

Saried stared at the boulder snarling angrily. He let out a howl before opening his mouth, small bits of energy able to be seen in the back of his throat. Arching himself up to point at the golems chest. Slowly a purple orb began to form infront of his mouth before it shot out at the golems rock covered chest. A beam of purple and red began to pound against the golems chest, slowly the rock began to crack. His red orb showing once again, the rock once there shattering into pieces. He then shut his mouth glaring at Ethra. "Finish it now! While it is exposed!" Saying that he rushed over to the crater in the wall digging rapidly with his large claws against the boulder.

Dark Xia

I DO NOT like blood.

Postby Dark Xia » Wed Nov 13, 2002 4:37 pm

So he got hurt, even with all this magic you've been practicing instead of leveling up you're still weak. Teh what did I tell you, practicing magic isn't as good away as fighting monsters to become more powerful.

Shut up.

Make me.

Ethra had been staring in horror at the boulder Verios was behind. She turned towards the golem as she heard the summoned creatures words. She smilled, then her expression went cold, her eyes had turned completely black.

"Purpose of life, bestow your will, make me your avatar. For vengence, I shall be one with you, Death!"

Within the time of a blink Ethra stood before the glowing red of the Golem's weak point. Wisps of black swirled around her, and before a person could blink again, her left hand plunged into the golem with incredible force. Her other hand now held a black scythe.

(eh, ya.. time for the golem to respond if it can still Image )

(RPG rule number 1 - death spells do not work against bosses. :þ)

Men'drakk'ar paused at the login platform, questioning the wisdom behind his choice of action.

It is well...besides, it will minimise the amount of fighting I have to do.

Stepping into the rings, he stated his destination - "Gaia's Cleft".

He reappeared just in time to see Zephyr and his hired goons disappear around a corner. He hastened to follow - with them ahead of him, that meant he was only vulnerable to monster attacks from behind.

The Golem grunted before slowly falling apart his core shattering into red bits of energy. The large pieces of him floating in mid air before launching themselves after Ethra, in a final attack.

Saried growled angrily scratching at the boulder more, the blood still spreading out from the crater.

"Grrrrrr.... Don't you die..."

Re: Too bad, theres alot.

Ethra's scythe made short work of any of the final attack's rocks, with the exception of a few that she had to dodge- and barely could. While being impeded a bit by the rocks Ethra gradually made her way to the boulder that was trapping Verios.
"Out of the way, dog." Ethra said in a cold voice, blocking another rock and nearly cutting Saried with the movements of her scythe. Almost casually she plunged her scythe into the rock, though it wasn't a cutting move. She pulled backwards, the boulder still attached to the rock, and lifted it into the air. She dropped the boulder next to herself, and gave a dead gaze.

That being had no life, this one is truly alive, only this one can truly die. Kill him. This is your purpose, to bring death. Give it to him. Fufill life's purpose!

(OOC: They're not hired goons, they're the Newbie Brigade, and Zephyr doesn't pay them, the guild does.)

The Brigade flung itself against monster after monster, Taril healing the injured and shooting off high-level strengthening spells for their benefit. Zephyr battled fiercly as well, the Masterblade's powerful attacks doing as much damage apeice as the entire Newbie Brigade. That was kind of the Brigade's purpose: To have a fighting force made of people who have much to gain but little to lose. Together they fought as well as Zephyr, but much more recklessly, taking weird chances and getting in as close as they could.

Verios lay still, unmoving and blood pouring from his legs. Saried growled violently at Ethra bearing his fangs and snarled. "You are a fool.... You know nothing. You are but a player sitting at home, enjoying yourself." Saried let out a howl before stepping back, into a ripple in space vanishing from sight.

Verios suddenly opened his eyes staring at the woman who stood before him. He stood up sharply, the blood about him fading away. He reached out his right hand violently grasping her throat, and lifting her off the ground his eyes slanted. He reached out grabbing her scythe with his left hand pulling it out of her grip with ease. He clenched his fist upon the scythe it vanishing into small black particles that began to circle about her before vanishing.

"You think you are powerful....... You are nothing Ethra, you have no power at all in Reyta. I possess all that is needed to shift this world to will. You as my pet stated, are merely a player who knows nothing of the truth. Truth that is far beyond yours or anyones grasp. I alone, shall keep this truth."

Smirking he pulled his spear out of the crater holding the pole to Ethras head. He let go of her neck and swung his spear around sending her towards the stairs that led to this floor. He cracked his neck and knuckles slowly walking backwards towards the treasure room. He grinned momentarily before walking into the room, out of Ethras sight.

What is he nuts?

Though that would be kind of cool... if this.. could be more.

This... actually hurts I think.

Maybe it's just my mind doing that.

You rolepaly too much.

Ethra tried to move from her position on the steps. She had slid down a bit and was lying in a very uncomfortable position.

Can't even move...

You could just reconnect...

No, I'm going after that guy...

She shoved the thoughts of her mind before shrugging. "I... don't really know what to equip with. All I can think of are potions to regenerate mana."
