(thats ok. Sometimes the simple posts move the story along. As you did. he he.)

She smiled at Kalin and sat back.

"Why me?" She asked with a giggle. "My names Delila. Just a girl looking for some help in these hard times." She said slyly.

Gean rolled her eyes as she flopped back down in her chair.

"To be honest," She said looking Ryo, Kalin, Shek, and Rydar. "I was hoping that you four strong men were Dream Chasers, I need to hire some for a little excavation job."

Gean crossed her arms.

"How much?" Gean asked blankly.

The woman shot a sideways glance to Gean as a few of the other bar patrons began to shout out that they were Dream chasers.

"Well, 1000 gella. To start. And 3000 if the job gets done quickly. But thats only if you accept."

Gean sighed as Tony arrived with a large amount of food. He set it on the table and then pounded Shek on the back in a friendly way.

"You eat this up son," he said siting a huge steak infront of Shek. "A bit of good food will get you back on your feat in no time flat."

Kalin looked up at Tony, the innkeep.

"I don't suppose you have any fish?" he said hopefully.

At Tony's head shake he sighed, and looked over at the other Dream Chacers.

"If this job takes us anywhere near water we're taking it, hands down. If not then I really don't care, I will follow you."

( Gack was typign while people posted. *edits* )

"My name is Ryo, Ryo Magnus. Perhaps you have heard of me?" He smiled kindly at the woman his eyes meeting with hers for a moment.

"I suppose I am a dream Chaser in some regards. I prefer the term Wanderer though. My only true dream is to master my ARM." Ryo motioned over at the Rifle by the Piano.

"It is rare to find such beauty in a run down town such a this. I would guess you are here on business." Ryo adjusted his collar as he said this.

"Gean, the girl who was sitting with me is not my sister. I merely offered to pay for her room and board for this town. She had no money and I have a abundance of Gella myself. I can afford it easily."

Ryo smirked as some of the other men at the bar were grumbling about how he had the attention of the lovely lady. "So ma'am, What type of job are you asking about?" Ryo had plenty of experience talking with women. In fact he might be regarded as a ladies man in some standards. But in his own eyes, he simply had a way with words.

Shek looked at the massive amount of food placed in front of him. Had he seen that massive amount of food earlier the previous day, he quite possibly would have fallen on his face and become massivly sick.

However a two hour march with a long and heavy metal polearm strapped to your back did wonders for your appetite.

You know, this will probably cost you every last gella you have, you know that, right?
~Yeah, I know, but I'm hungry again.~

Shek tried to look dignified (and mostly succeeded) as he shoveled food into his mouth, the dignity, however, was lost as he answered the strange woman's proposition, "Excavation? What?"

Inwardly, in a place that not even his opposing side would venture to travel, Shek mulled over what she had said.

~3000? Thats more money than is promised a first year caravan guard... My family would be able to higher helping hands for the farm, and take a break for awhile...~

Rydar looked shocked towards the woman, '3000...?' That was more money than he'd ever seen in his life. "What do we have to do?

Delila smiled and clapped her hands together.

"Oh so you are interested?" She asked. "Well sugar," she said looking at Kalin. "Sorry about this but it's not near the ocean. Though I could see why you would want it to me. Lovely place."

Gean crossed her arms and sat back in her chair. She wasn't surprised, the woman was obiusly wealthy.

"TO be honest, I was looking for some people to find and ancient artifact for me. But ohh," she said putting her hands on her face and acting scared. "It's just so dangerous for little ol me to go." She said looking scared.

Gean rolled her eyes and jabbed her food with her fork.

"It's in the mountain, an ancient Temple."

Gean jumped to her feet suddenly.

(Rydar may know about this since he's from twindelwood.)

"You mean the ruins of Karabas?" She said looking surprised and a bit confused.

"Yes," Delila said looking angry.

"But that place is. . .its sacred. I mean no one, I mean no one ever goes there."

"Well Now little girl," Delila said sharply. "It's just a pile of rocks. I don't want anything really, just the artifact. You see I represent a small group who is interested in Filgaia's past, and threw that past usher in a new future."

"So. . .what is this artifact?" Gean asked. The woman smiled and stood up.

"Oh, you'll know it when you find it."
She sudnely turned to Ryo and cupped his face in her hands.

"Oh please, I need help. HOW can I go into such a dangerous place, when I have no skill with arms at all."

She let go of his face and walked away, waving at them as she went.

Ryo blushed a bit then shook it off.

"Well...... I don't know about you guys but this sounds exciting. Besides some of you probably need that money."

Ryo walked over to Gean with a serious look. "Do you know where these ruins are Gean? If not the general location?"

Gean frowned and stared down at her feet.

"Yeah I think I might know, but I'm not realy sure. I heard that its to the north, where the peak splits. But. . ." She said looking up.

"Its a . ..a cursed place," she said whispering. "People say that those who go up there never come back. But all that gella sure is tempting."

She said with a sigh. And then laughed.

"But since your girlfriend wants you to do It I guess you better." She said poking fun at Ryo.

"I've seen it"

Rydar paused when everyone looked at him.

"Its not a good place, many have disappeared there. For three thousand gella I don't think I would go. Unless you all want to, then I would go, I couldn't let you go into the mountains alone without a guide."

Rydar was very serious about this, he did not like the ruins, many people who came into the mountains went looking for it never came back, most did not even reach it, and were found torn up by something deep into the mountains. Once, Rydar, curious, found it. He would not enter though, scared he backed away in horror and ran off. Something about the place still haunted him.

Gean pushed her plate away and then stood.

"I'll go," she said looking up. "Mainly because I want to know what this artifact is. Besides, I wouldn't be much of a dream chaser if I didn't take up a challenge."

She smiled.

"And besides," she said poking Ryo in the back. "I'm just a poor innocent girl, who wouldn't stand a chance in that place alone." Gean said mimicking Delila. Her voice matched Delila's perfectly, so much so that a few of the men siting at the bar fell of their stools as they turned to look.

Gean laughed and sat back down.

"Just joking with your Ryo."

(Ooc. Side abilities. Something thats just fun. You can have as many of these as you want, just nothing powerful. For example. Gean is pretty good and mimicking voices. Go ahead and go nuts with this. There's no restrictions, well just one. This side abilities must not have any power to it. Its just something your char can do, like being double jointed. It can help move the story along, or get your char into trouble. So just have fun with it.)

Well, defiling a sacred ruin is certainly not something Shek did everyday. He however, refused to voice his opinion, but he did in fact speak.

"So, er, we're going to go rob an ancient temple of considerable holyness? Wouldn't that er.. call down divine wrath and vengance? I've already been bitten by a spider, and been poisoned by cherries, I don't want God to step on me now..."

So maybe he did voice his thoughts.

Ryo shook his head. "I do not fall for every woman I see, despite what some of my previous traveling companions may say."

He then walked over to the piano and swinged his ARM over his shoulder. "Right. Where the mountains split. I can do this alone if none of you are up to the challenge."

Ryo smirked to himself having a feeling that would get them to come. "I'm going to go ahead. And I don't need a guide. Never have, never will."

He walked outside of the bar and headed North out of town towards the mountains. He had never liked traveling in groups unless necessary. Besides, he had a better chance of fighting off any opposition from afar if he was alone.

Gean jumped up!

"WAIT!" She shouted and grabbed her arm as she ran after him.

"RYO!" She said grabbing his arm. "I . . .don't think you should go there alone." She said in a whisper.

"Look, its. . .its not a place anyone wants to go to alone. SO I'll tag along. Mainly because I could use some gella." She said crossing her amrs infront of her.

She looked down and then up at Ryo.

"Ryo," she said. "I . . .I've been there before." She said quickly. "But you can't say anything! Not one thing to anyone. I'm already looked at like some kinda freak, I don't need people thinking anything else. Ok?" She said putting her arms behind her and laughing.

She was serious though. Her mind wound back, reaching to threw the memories that she did have. Back to a place where she had been cold, alone, and lost.

A place where the mountain split.

(Only Ryo knows what Gean tells him.)

Rydar watched as Ryo and Gean took off down the street out of the bar. The bar owner Tom came up to him "Excuse me sir but if your going to stay any longer in this bar, your gonna have to put up those weapons."

"Oh, sorry" Rydar replied " Didn't know, I'm leaving anyway's."

At that Rydar walked out the door and followed Ryo and Gean, once he caught up he told them, " Guess I can't leave you behind, plus three guns are better than two." He hefted his bag back onto his shoulder as it started slipping off. He looked to Gean and smiled and then back to Ryo, who was staring at him. " Well?"

(OOC sorry for RPing Tom but he did ask you guys to put up your weapons, he never asked me and I figured he would.)

Shek sighed, and paid Tony before stepping out to follow Gean and Ryo and the rest of those following them, he figured it would be from a distance. As they seemed to be getting along just fine without him. That, and if whatever God owned that sacred ground got angry, he wanted to make sure he was at least a hundred feet away from being smote.

Shek didn't know what to think of any of these people, he had hardly met any of them, and though they spoke of things such as being "drawn" to eachother, he mainly felt that he was obligated to follow them. You could leave an obligation if you chose too, was always his reasoning.

Shek opted to stand behind them and stay silent, if anyone wanted to talk to him, they would, till then. He'd just stand and look pretty.

Ryo looked at Gean calmly. "I suppose you can come Gean. But only because you seem to know where it is." He said after Gean spoke to him.

He paused as Rydar walked up behind him and Gean. He stared coldly at him. "The less people the easier to get in and out. More people means monsters will come after us in larger numbers and also more aggressively for invading on their natural stomping grounds."

Ryo seemed rather intent on not wanting Rydar to come along. "Besides, I don't trust you."

Ryo shifted his ARM a bit as he walked. "On another note I am probably the most experienced one here with their ARM." He swung it around so it was pointing dead at Rydars face, Ryo smirked.

"It may look bulky but I have had years of training with it. I could probably shoot a fly off your head from a Mile away." Ryo swung his ARM back around so it was on back over his shoulder.

"As much as I don't want you to come. I'll leave it up to Gean. Although I will say that you listen to me when we are in this temple. I have had past experience with Ruins and they tend to be dangerous. So don't run in head on or you will probably fall victim to a trap. Or worse to a monster attack."

With that Ryo turned his eyes to Gean. "Well Gean. Do you think he should come along?"

Shek nodded to Gean, and tried to keep his from Ryo out of polite respect.

"Er, I'm feeling up to going, yes. Though, if it would make er..." He couldn't recall the mans name, so he pointed at Ryo, "Er, him (forgive my rudeness!) feel better, I'll stay at a distance, you know, keep monsters behind me, instead of you. I did it alot for the caravans..." He smiled politely.

Shek, Shek, Shek, what am I going to do with you?
~You're going to shut up and let me handle this?~
If by handle, you mean offend people with your obvious lack of manners, by all means... The voice sounded annoyed, but Shek ignored it.

"After all." He said with a weak smile, "Better myself than the group, no?"

Kalin remained alone at the table for awhile. Draining the last of his glass, he stood up, placed some money on the table, grabbed his ARM, and left.

Ryo doesn't want anyone but Gean to go? Fine. Kalin was still planning on going to the ruins, but he was going separate from them. He would trail the others, slip into the ruins alone, and cover their backs.

Kalin knew enough about ruin-crawling to know that Ryo was being foolish. Not that he had any idea where he had learned this. But he wasn't going against Ryo's wishes.

At least not with him knowing it.

He saw the other four walking away, and followed in the shadows, remaining unseen.

Ryo sighed to himself.

Why do they never listen. Only a fool travels in large groups.

He then went back to waiting for Geans reply.

(( OOC: Ryo is one who takes in everything and thinks things through. He would notice you unless you made absolutely no sound. Which I doubt anyone with a ARM can do. And I doubt anyone in the group right now has more experience then Ryo he has been traveling for 5 years and visited plenty of ruins. Just so you know. Not trying to sound rude or anything but I am just pointing out a fact. ))

((Erm yeah. Kalin's past is a mystery, but he has inate combat skills based on his memories from his past. He is small and agile, and I am following at a good distance. Now, I agree that Ryo most likely has more experience at this sort of thing than Kalin, but Kalins reasoning for traveling without the awareness of the others is so if you get in trouble that you have someone that whoever is attacking you is unaware of.))

Shek shrugged, "Well, Gean invited us, and I wouldn't classify four or five people as a large group..." He winced, knowing for full the bad idea of a large group. Especially caravans...

He figured that, despite Ryo's protests, they'd all meet up at the ruins eventually, and if they didn't. Well, they'd all meet up later. Its just seemed to be something that would end up that way.

Gean sighed as she stared up at the mountains.

"Its kinda funny." She said putting her hands behind her back. "I never thought I'd be traveling with a bunch of guys like you." She dropped her hands and then looked slightly sad.

"To bad that Kalin guys not around," She said looking down. "Its weird, but. . ." She shook her head and then laughed. "Ahh, never mind."

Gean said walking ahead.

She should have said somehting more to the group, but, for some reason, she had stopped herself. She knew more about that temple than she had let on.

She stopped suddenly and then turned to the others. Her face serious.

"Ok," she said sternly. "Look, I don't know why but I trust you all. I just wanted to say that." She said blushing slightly. "Its just a feeling that I got. And Its because of that. . ." She said biting her lip.

"I think you should know. . .that I . . .have been there before."

She looked down at her feet and then turned quickly, and walked on quickly.

Rydar stood, his face flushed, royally pissed off. 'That man, Challenged me. He called me inexperienced.' Rydar set his bag down. Then he gently set his sword and his ARM down next to them. "Turn around Ryo." He stretched his arms. Then he removed his shirt, underneath, a large scar covered his belly. "You want to talk Ryo, fine lets settle this as MEN, not as pansies. Your little act of pointing a ARM at me is fine, but I will not accept being insulted by you, or anyone else. Fight me like a man Ryo, or stop your little pissy attitude."

Kalin continued along the edge of a dune, keeping the others within sight. He was completely certain that at least Ryo knew where he was. But hopefully anyone who caused trouble once they got into the ruins would not. He prayed that Ryo was smart enough to play off of that. Kalin was willing to bet that he was.

( actually a little conflict between to chars is a good thing. It helps the story along. And yep Kailn dose remind me of jet.)

Gean stopped and turned to see Ryo and Rydar staring each other down. She sighed and walked on a little, since Shek had decided to step in.

"Boys," she said as she walked on ahead. "No matter how old they get they stay kids."

Gean's paced slowed, she didn't want to get too far ahead. She stopped short. There it was, towering above her. The Temple.

Her hands fell to her side as she stared up at it. It wasn't hard to miss it. The Temple had been carved into the mountain.

"So you finally made it." Said Delila as she stepped from behind a large rock. Her face took on look of surprise and anger as she saw Gean. "Where are the men that were in your group?"

"They'll be hear," Gean said shortly.

"Good. I want to give you some information about this place."

(I thought since we were already in the mountias we'd be close enuf to the temple. I like the posts, and the conflict between chars. makes things intersting.)

Rydar finally realised that Ryo was all talk. "Fine, don't fight me now, but we will settle this before this trip is through." With that he picked his things up and put his shirt back on. After walking for awhile he saw Gean and Delia standing at the mountains entrance. 'hmm, how did she get here so fast?' he thought. Finally upon reaching the two with Ryo slightly ahead and Shek still with them, Rydar asked Gean "So, whats going on?"

Tempel (wee. Fild items come into use.)

Unread postby bunnygirle78 » Sat Feb 22, 2003 5:40 pm

(Brief Description of the temple.)

Towering above the small band of travelers, a temple ancient and aged by time. Seemingly as old as the very mountain that it has been carved from, it blends in with the surrounding rock. Fine carvings of strange creatures adorn its base. These creatures are beings lost in time, each staring out at the world with cold and dead expressions.

There are holes where the eyes are, perhaps at one time there had been pretiosus stones there, but they have long been stolen by passing by thieves.

The stone gates are heavy, and upon first glance have no apparent way of opening.

Above the gate, a small green crystal hangs.

(End Discritption.)

Delila smiled and took a few steps forward.

"Well now, I wanted to make sure you all could actually make it hear on your own. Call it a bit of a test. I wanted to make sure I could trust you knew what you were doing."

She said as she brushed a strand of hair from her face.

"I came with a few colleagues," she said with a smile.

Gean looked over her shoulder to See Rydar putting on his shirt. Her eyes fell on the large scar on his chest, blushing she turned her head away.

"So," Gean said as she stared at the Temple. "Now what?"

"Now you go in. That green crystal activates the door. Some other Dream chasers have been inside. But none have ever come back out." She said smoothly.

Gean bit her lower lip and looked at Ryo.
"So are you coming to?" Gean asked Delila. Delila shook her head and then let out a small squeal.

"Oh heavens no, do you expect such a poor and dainty woman such as me to endanger herself?" She said putting her hands on her face. Gean frowned as Delila walked past them and sat down on a rock.

"I'll wait hear."

Gean turned back to the door and then to Ryo and the others.

"Well, uh. . .we all hear?" Gean asked looking from Ryo to Rydar. She could sense the tension between them as she pulled out her sling shot. She picked up a rock loaded the sling and released it.

The crystal turned red as a loud echoing ping filled the area. The large heavy door began to slowly rise, causing a few lose rocks to fall from the mountain.

Gean gasped as she stared into the darkness of the Temple

(Weee. Yay first dungeon. . .weeee. Get those field items ready guys.)

Shek was mildly annoyed by the antics of Ryo and Rydar. He unslung his polearm and started using it as a leaning post.

"So, what are we supposed to do now?" He asked, looking at Delila tiredly.

"Inside," Delila said smiling as she fooled with her hair. "You will find some ancient technology. I want you to bring back something that looks like this." She said and held up a small hard looking piece of paper (Ooc. Looks like a credit card.)

Gean stared at it and then shrugged.

"Uh, were going into a deadly temple filled with monsters for that? Lady if you want us to do that then you should either tack on another 1000 gella or tell us why its so important."

Delila put the card away and then laughed.

"Trust me bumpkin. This thing is worth the gella. You have a deal. But as for what it can do, thats for me to know." She said as she stared at Gean.

"It should be in a large computer." She said.

Gean groaned.

"Ok now your just making up words. Who the hell has ever heard of a com. . .pooter."

Delila glared at Gean.

"Its what the ancient people of Filgaia used to store information. Just think of it as a really small library." She said shortly. "Once inside, you should be abel to find it. And just think, you'll bee five thousand gella richer."

(Gean doesn't know what a computer is because she has is less experienced than the older members of the group. It is an old technology, that only a few peopel know about. Thats why Gean seems like a dummy about computers)

Shek didn't know what a computer was, or why people used it, he assumed that it was some sort of pewter box, but he didn't say anything on that subject.

"Well, er, what do we do if that... 'thing' is broken? And we can't get it out, or when we do, its useless?" He looked at her warily, "I don't want to risk my hide for something broken."

"Don't worry" she said hoping down from her rock and walking over to Shek. She stared at him and smiled. "I'm sure a big strong tuff looking guy like you won't have any trouble getting it for me." She smiled and winked at Shek as she laughed.

"Besides, the computer itself is harmless."

Shek blinked.

~She's sweet talking me! What do I do?~
Smile politely, and nod.

Shek nodded, but didn't smile. "Right. I see. Okay." He nodded again.

Couldn't have done it better myself.

"So are we going in or what?"

Ryo chuckled to himself. "A computer, interesting.." Ryo smirked, a mischievous look of a child in his eyes. "This should be very interesting..."

Ryo swung his ARM around into his right hand and walked forward into the ruin entrance."Ah its been a few weeks since I explored a ruin...."

Ryo glanced over the interior quickly. He proceeded slowly looking for anything remotely suspicious.

I doubt she will mind when I find the computer if I look up what the information it was storing is.

Tempel

Gean followed Ryo inside.

Inside the temple's entrance reached high. On the walls, painted figures were spread out. Gean turned around in a circle as she walked on.

"Wow," she said. "Look at these things." She said pointing to two large statues that stood by another door. They had long fins reaching to the ceiling, and seemed to be jumping out of the ground. The ground was painted blue.

"This place is kinda neat, well once you get over the fact that its filled with creepy monsters." She said wiht a laugh. "Lets wait for the others." She said siting down on the ground.

She jumped up suddenly with a squeal.

"AHHk the ground is cold!" She said as she hugged her arms to get warm.
