Hearing the bell, ring, Jason looked up. "Well crap." Putting his Etch-a-Sketch away, he picked his stuff up. Looking at his schedule to confirm, he noticed the name Ms. Schulz on it. History. Ok, that was fine. Just another class he could mess around in.

Walking in to class, he took a seat in the far back corner and waited impatiently for the bell to ring. Lunch would be coming up soon, and he was starting to get hungry. Tomorrow, he'd pack something to eat...

Sheen kept relaxing, positive nobody was going to even bother to see if he was in class. "I think maybe I'll waltz in at the sixth and see if anybody notices" he said to himself

“ At last”

he walked out of the classroom, he picked up his notebook and hade a look.

“Ooo man not good and i forgot my pillow o wot the heck he might have changed over the break”.

He slowly started to walk to Mr. Vierra´s classroom in hope of finding at lest something interesting to do the short time before class

Nan'tulla stopped, then nodded to Faye. "Follow me, then. It's right next to Mr. Vierra." With that, the spider proceeded to her class, dropping off Faye.

Mr. Talton was a tall, rangy man with a small beard and brown hair and a red sweater. Spinning about in his swivel chair, he surveyed the entering sophomores cheerfully, calling "Hello" to each of them that entered.

Then Nan'tulla went into Mr. Vierra's class. The teacher was a balding man with grey hair, who had a few tufts of hair coming out of his ears. Small, deep-set eyes looked even smaller behind large, blocky glasses, and he mumbled something that could have been "Welcome" to the seniors.

* * *

In Mrs. Schulz's classroom, there were a few departing students, but no sign of the teacher. The only person in the room was a tall girl with platinum-blonde hair tied into a high ponytail, standing at the front of the room. Perhaps she was waiting for the teacher?

When Katyana and Krysta entered, she glanced at them, but made no movement. Once the cheerleader and catgirl were seated, then Amie came in.

Dermont made his way to his next lesson, not troubling to hurry, instead inspecting each female he passed minutely. As he came to Ms. Schulz' room, he peered in.

Whoah! She is hot! She can't be the teacher!!

Grinning at the woman lecherously, Dermont made his way towards the back of the classroom, tripping over desks which people had rather rudely left lying in his path.

~~~
Blaze also took his time moving to his next class, but for different reasons - he just wasn't that bothered about arriving for any lesson early.
Arriving at Mr. Vierra's room, Blaze looked in to see who had already arrived. Spotting Nan'tulla, he smiled and waved, making his way across the class to sit at the desk next to her.
Katrina looked about the class at the spider and Blaze and leaned back in her seat. Silently she started humming to herself.
The blonde girl glanced at Jason, a flash of something like anger in her eyes. Then she glared at Dermont.
"Take your eyes away from my bust right now," she said, her words cold and distant, like rocks dropping down a deep pit.
Amie buried her head in her arms. This was just going to be another great class, with the pervert... she tried not to moan.
Krysta and Katyana, though, were staring at Dermont with horror, finally making the connection with the bad feelings they'd been having.
Simultaneously, they went "ACK!" and facepalmed.
Nan'tulla smiled at Blaze. "How's your day been so far?"
Plot setup! Expect another plot post before he arrives.
Unread postby PriamNevhausten » Mon Sep 30, 2002 6:52 pm
Tendra strode into the classroom, quickly examining Mr. Vierra upon entry. She hoped he would actually teach some of the useful stuff...elven history, especially. She sighed...nobody ever taught the interesting stuff in a history class. A damned shame that she'd probably only have PE to rely on for some sort of amusement during the schoolyear. Though that new, 'enriched!' science class could have potential...
--------
In another world, or perhaps another aspect of the same world, Knyte studied the ingredients before him. He never was very good at component examination, and it was even worse with the unstable nature of magic here. Going back to the book, he read the recipe, and began mixing, as he heard the massive door to the keep opening not terribly far away.
The door to Knyte's study opened shortly thereafter, and an unfamiliar voice asked, "Pardon me, but could you tell me the whereabouts of Master Ythran?"
"He's probably in the lab again. Half a mile down on the right, down the stairs, third room down the first hall," Knyte rattled off mechanically, too absorbed in his work to care much who it was.
Dammit...too much acid in the mix. I wish people would stop pestering me in the middle of my work...guess I have to start over...AGAIN...
Jason was prepared to cover his ass in case this sort of thing happened.
"My apologies. I didn't realize you were a teacher. See, we generally don't get to see someone as youthful as you in a school. And, for your information, I was studying your hair. I find it very nice to look at your hair. I've never seen it colored so brightly."
Sure, he would still probably get yelled at, but at least she would know that he WASN'T looking at her chest. Whether she believed it or not was entirely up to her.
Not that Jason cared one way or the other. Lunch would be coming soon. And that was ALL that mattered to him at the moment.
Again settling for a nice corner seat in the back, he prepared himself for the bell to ring.
Ms. Schulz gave an angry sigh, still glaring at Dermont, though addressing Jason.
"No, I was talking to the other boy. Dermont? I've heard some interesting things about him from the other faculty... And in ALL my classes so far, I've been mistaken for a student," she said with exasperation.
Ms. Schulz's eyes narrowed.
"You may relocate your stare... right there." Her voice had gone low and ominous, and a thin band of darkness seemed to settle around Dermont's eyes, effectively blinding him. Her voice returned to normal. "And it will stay like that for the rest of the period," she said calmly.
* * *
Mr. Talton glanced up as Faye entered, smiling as he gave her a friendly greeting.
Nan'tulla shrugged. "So far, so good. At least I haven't seen Dermont so far, so this may be a good omen."
Tendra shouldn't be doing this much introspection...
Unread postby PriamNevhausten » Tue Oct 01, 2002 6:15 pm
Tendra eyed the spider on the other side of the room. It was very strange to see a form so...different...in the classes, and even stranger still that so many would get along so well with her so quickly. Frankly, she was surprised that there weren't any serious strikes made against Nan'tulla, based on the simple fact that she had eight limbs.
Tendra herself had gotten used to seeing the arachnid in her classes; after all, she too was a senior. And thankfully, the spider was more friendly than most of the humanoid students, and quite capable scholastically to boot--at least as far as Tendra had noticed.
Why was she thinking all of this crap? This was school, not unlike a part-time prison, and reflection served about as much purpose here as trying to play tennis on a bowling alley. She shook her head lightly, as if to shake off the irrelevant ponderings. Stupid classes. Why do we even need to learn all this junk? It's not like we'll ever use it... she scowled.
'A blessing indeed.' Replied Blaze. 'I have to say, whenever Dermont's around, I'm glad I'm not female. I've let him know where I stand on his antics before though, so if he tries anything and I get to hear about it, he'll have hell to pay. If Mik doesn't get to him first, that is.'
As if on cue, the bells rang.
Ms. Schulz smiled grimly at her class. "All right, here begins the new school year for you— at least in my class. And Dermont, if you fall asleep, I'm going to make SURE to send you a few nightmares.
"At any rate—" she continued without missing a beat, "This semester we're going to be covering the troll and elvish wars, including the rise of the Shifters. It's a pretty large topic, so we're going to be trying to move quickly."
* * *
Mr. Talton stood up, then stretched his arms over his head.
"Good morning class!" he boomed. "Let's begin with roll call. Sheen?"
* * *
Mr. Vierra stood creakily. "Now class," he said in a mumbling voice which managed to make the simple greeting sound boring, "Let's get started. You're seniors after all, and need to get started, ha ha."
Despite his words, though, the assignment he gave was fairly simple.
"Tomorrow I'll be giving a lecture on this so be sure to bring your notebooks."
* * *
"You all right?" a musical, lilting male voice asked Bob, helping him to his feet.
The speaker was a tall elf, with long dark hair tied back with a silver hairpiece. His eyes were brilliant amethyst, over sculpted marble features which despite their perfection, seemed warm and welcoming, rather than distant. Wearing a midnight-blue robe which had trailing sleeves and a vortex of sequinned stars over it, he seemed like the classic bishounen mage.
Mr. Talton nodded to Bob, shrugged, made a mark, then continued halfway through the list until Sheen opened the door and stepped in. He glanced up.
"Hello. Who are you?"
* * *
Ms. Schulz's eyes glinted slightly, although Dermont was incapable of seeing them.
"Now. We're going to leap right into the middle here. Fine. Let's begin." Talking animatedly, she began outlining the first territorial disputes between the trolls and the elves. Katyana's eyes glazed as she tried to translate everything the teacher was saying. Noticing that, Ms. Schulz stopped.
"Katyana, you're new here, right? Just listen in and try to get the big points. Krysta? You take notes for both of you and try to help her with it later. There is also tutoring after school if you need it." Pitching her voice higher, she added "If you're intelligent, you ought to be taking notes about now, or at least paying attention. This includes you, Mr. Dermont."
Nan'tulla scribbled in a short sentence before replying to Blaze. "Not really. Helped one of the junior girls get to her class, though. Bumped into Mik— literally, even." She gave a quick ghost of a laugh before continuing.
Enter the Knyte
Unread postby PriamNevhausten » Sat Oct 05, 2002 4:50 pm
In the distance, a large blast could be heard. Knyte almost smiled; he'd wagered the stranger probably distracted his master as well, and that his master had a little more of a problem with component mixing than he had. I wonder if the newcomer was enveloped in the blast, he mused. It would serve him right for coming in unannounced.
And then he heard another blast. Closer. Then metal against metal, and a scream.
Great Guardians...an attack?!
Quickly setting down the vials and flasks with which he was busy, he ran to the door to the study and threw it open, tossing a few of the flasks to the ground as the heavy oaken door slammed into the wall. He dashed outside, only to see destruction--a flaming building, a couple charred bodies, and a streak of lightning coming from a single figure, positioned towards the main tower. Without even examining him, Knyte knew who it was.
Each shock of lightning wracked Knyte's senses as he crept slowly but silently towards the stranger. Ten yards...five yards...almost within arm's reach...
Knyte drew his obsidian dagger and stabbed forward in one smooth, fluid motion. And his face twisted in horror and shock as the stranger spun around, knocking the dagger away with one hand and grabbing Knyte's scrawny neck with the other. They looked into eachother's eyes for a brief moment, and Knyte memorized every part of the man's face--how could he not? The man had just killed his master!
The figure, face darkened by the sudden lack of functioning torches, spoke in a haunting voice. "Death to the Order. Refine your ways now, child, while you have a chance. I give you your life back, but I will not hesitate to finish its extinguishment should I see you causing trouble again."
Knyte's eyes flicked briefly towards the knife, which lay suspended in the air, precisely where Knyte had released his grasp. The figure's face tightened. "Oh, no, boy. I see you'll have trouble learning. Let me escort you, then, into a new, harsh world." He jerked Knyte away from the blade, and tossed him a great distance across the courtyard. Stopping in midair, Knyte glid back towards the stranger, grabbing the knife, and was suddenly enveloped by a strange blue light--a gate!
"NOOO--oof!" was all he could manage before his surroundings changed to a white-brick wall, which he promptly met in a rather close encounter. He fell to the ground... I...fell?...and before passing out, the last thing he saw was a sign labelled "-EXIT->" in green lights...
When Knyte awoke, he was in a small room with white walls and a ceiling. A middle-aged woman with an average face and figure was sitting at his side, looking at him. Her chestnut-brown hair was tied into a loose bun at the nape of her neck.
"You had a bad fall, young man," she said scoldingly. He had no injuries though— other than a nasty headache. "Be more careful on those stairs. I patched you up, though. Any side effects?"
Knyte shook a little where he was laying. He wasn't moving...why? Oh, the portal...right... He lifted an arm weakly, and experimentally waved his fingers, which responded in the same way they would had his arm fallen asleep. In truth, his arm felt a little bit like that anyway.
He blinked, as though to clear his mental fog. "ungh...stairs? Wh...where...egh...is there a...town crier?" Knyte questioned, clearly referencing the semi-ancient practice of news-by-shouting.
"...yes...history class...ow..." Knyte's mind raced with thoughts of what era this was...he wanted to know where--and when--it was, so he could act accordingly, rather than stick out like the sore thumb that he knew he would probably be anyway.
Her parlance...sounds roughly information-age...let's see, were newspapers still around then?... He pulled himself up into a sitting position, which clearly took much more effort than it should have, and his small reddish bush of hair fell a little ways down his neck--an odd, though not completely uncomfortable, sensation, Knyte noted. Blinking again, he turned his head slowly to face the nurse. "Is there a...news...paper...I could see?"
