Pyrrha nearly stopped, surprised by his quick learning of her language, but retained enough of her senses to bat the flaming rock into the ocean, using her tail.

"<Why should I be afraid of a piece of wood on a string?>" she snapped.

On the other hand, he seemed fairly confident about the foreign weapon.

Pyrrha decided that this time, discretion was the better part of valour... at least until she could get another chance to capture one of these land-dwellers.

And if not, I am not fit for consumption.

Remarte' was suprised by her reaction to his threat...

He walked towards her. <"Why did you attack me?"> he asked as he edged closer.

IM:*slightly annoyed by the child's whining* Need to get him away from this if I am to be able to handle this situation without unwanted distractions.

Remarte' felt sick to his stomach after the words finished in his head...

IM: I sound like a fuckin' hero...

Remarte' smirked, <"Simple...."> and with that he left his arrow fly, he wasn't aiming really at Pyrrha, more to the effect of skimming over her arm and leaving a nasty scratch... in hopes it would show her what it would do if he had meant to hit her.

Pyrrha didn't seem angry at all, more shocked and surprised as she examined her arm, then the bow.

For the first time, she seemed respectful. "<Do all land-dwellers use such things?>"

The shadowy figure turned back towards the child...this time, in a way that light came over the hand holding the spear, revealing it to be covered in smooth blue-green scales with short claws on the ends of slightly webbed fingers. The figure extended it's arm forward, the robe's baggy sleeve drooping down. Suddenly, the figure released it's grip on the spear. Instead of falling to the ground, as a solid object rightly should, it hovered in the air for a moment, before it suddenly turned from a solid to water...and continued hovering for a moment, until it started to fall to the ground. Before the mass of transparent liquid could land, however, it dissipated into a mist, and snaked it's way into the figure's sleeve.

"Child...why do you torment this creature?" it said, gesturing towards Pyrrha. "It was not attacking you..."

The figure walked over towards the child and stooped down to his level. The glowing eyes narrowed under the hood, as if to scrutinize the child. Suddenly, the figure thrust it's arm forward, the hand begining to glow, into the wound. As the figure pulled it's hand out, a warm feeling washed over the child, as his skin started to bind together over the wound, no doubt to the great suprise of the child.

Remarte' lowered his bow, <"Yes. But only after long periods of training. Besides, I'm not your average landdweller..."> said Remarte' as smiled at Pyrrha.

The robed figure nodded to the child...the only acknowledgement he recieved before he turned back to Pyrrha and Remarte. The figure narrowed it's eyes, scrutinizing Remarte from afar. Slowly, it began to aproach him...

"<I believe I know what this thing is...>" the figure said. "<...and I am begining to believe you should continue your assault on this spawn of hatred and suffering...this demon...>"

The figure stopped several meters away from the pair, and from it's menacing stance alone, those around could tell that it was none too pleased with Remarte's presence...

The hooded figure leapt from his cart and started ambling toward the busy Remarte' and Prryha. The child, standing close by, presented little interest to the traveller, but the tall, ominous presence of that ugly beast beside the child startled him immensely. From the place where he had been hiding, the traveller had not seen the creature.

His face in distinguishable beneath the brown hood of his robe, the traveller ran up behind Remarte'. He was ready to fight.

Reaching into the folds of his robe, the short figure pulled out an assortment of small daggers. Holding about six in each hand, the traveller spoke to Remarte' in a soft voice.

"You won't die here. Not as long as I'm around, fellow."

Remarte put another arrow into place, "All i wanted was a little relaxation..." he sighed as he eye both the new comers and the guy over by the kid.

The shadowy figure narrowed it's glowing eyes at the newcomer, taking another step forward...

Pyrrha stepped between the figure and Remarte'. For the first time, she wasn't in motion, and her true size became apparent. Though lean and rangy, she easily was six feet tall.

"<I don't know what a 'demon' is, but I am willing to defend one. Pain and suffering are part of life, and weed out the weak.>"

The hooded fellow threw a knife down at the foot of the figure. "This is odd. A demon? But he looked so friendly," the traveller said. "I assumed from my position that you two were being attacked by the water beast. It seems I was wrong."

The traveller turned to Remarte'. "You're lucky I got here in time. You could be dead by know, ser'ein."

The traveller brought his gloved hand up to his hood and yanked it off, revealing his face-- or her face!!

"Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Niaga."

Pyrrha glanced at Niaga, not sure if Niaga meant her name or was a word in the unfamiliar language.

Remarte look puzzled, "Well that was unexpected." He looked at Niaga then at Pyrrha, <"So are we gonna stop fighting now? I had no intention of harming you Pyrrha. You seem like an interesting person."> he said as he lowered his bow.

IM: Crazy day I'm having.

He looked back at the kid next to them, "You ok kid?" he asked as he resumed his gaze on the two female strangers.

Perhaps I better start trying to learn this language... this 'demon' is remarkablyâ€” what's the word he used? 'interesting'â€” for a land dweller, and it would be better to understand what everybody else is saying, thought Pyrrha.
