Alexander caught a whiff of... he couldn't decide what it was. A sharp scent, almost like ozone, but much more pleasant. And it was coming from beyond the door.

whoops

Unread postby PSLoyalist » Sun Oct 20, 2002 9:34 am

(sorry got confused myself thought that there were only two adn one was standing outside....once again i prove my idiocy)

Angel stood watching the men nearly kill themselves trying to get the golem summoned, completely ignoring Angel.

"Hm...I'd love to take a look around" Angel said but was cut off as someone jumped out of the woods.

She was wrapped in several turbanes and clocks creatinga "ninja" look. She had a large crossbow in her hand and she laughed descrimitivly at Angel as she cranked back on the crossbow. (i hope it's OK that i add another NPC to spice things up)

Angel attempted to duck behind the bulding as an Bolt flew towards him. It caught him in the heel adn dug deep into his foot.

"@#%$, no this psyco bitch." Angel said as he poked his head around the corner to see the persons face. "Touami."

Angel saw touami disappear ionto the woods adn tehn dash up onto the roof of the building. Angel could hear the canking of a crossbow as Touami appeared above him.

Angel rolled to teh side tryign to stay off his injured heel adn the bolt barly missed him. He had no choice but to go into the building. He got up and limped into the building and pulled his Short recurve bow off of his back.

He quickly put an arrow onto his bow and waited to see Touami appear at the doorway. Angel could hear her crossbow cranking from outside the building. A bolt blew through the rotted wood of the building, but missed Angel by a mile.

Angel heard the cranking again. He listened to her footsteps as they neared teh building another bolt flew throught the wood. Angel instantly let an arrow fly as the bolt went by him and he heard Tourami moan in pain. He limped off further into teh buiolding putting on a nother arrow.

"That's not gonna stop her for long." Angel said to himself as he turned around to check of the woman was following him.

He came to a hallway that led further in...

Angel

(OOC: Of course! Subplots are always fun... but which building? Generic or plot-important?)

Blindingly bright light blue light assaulted the eyes of the three, as the golem crumbled into a pile of rocks, its magic stripped from it.

Angel Walked further into the tunnel as it slowly stepped further into the ground. He kept an eye behind him but made sure he didn't run into anything. He was being very cautious on his way down keeping an arrow in the bow at all times.

Tourches sprung up out of no where and lit his way. they were blue flames adn danced around like gypsy on the night of the Kuntireia Festival.

"god what i wouldn't give for an pint of Rum right now." Angel said to himself as he continued down the hallway...

Angel ran inside of the farmhouse. No one was there; no sounds came from within. In fact, no sounds came from without either.

As the door was opened far below, Angel felt a sensation as though something tentacled had just drawn itself out of his ears, and he felt the inertial sensation of falling. However, as far as he could see, he was standing still inside the house.

(OOC: sorry, good explanation of getting me out of there...)

Angel shoke his head to each side in confusion.

"I could have sworn I was just going down a long corridor..." Angel said as he heald his head in anguish. "But i still need a pint."

A bolt flew into the house from outside through a window and peirced Angels right arm. He fell to the ground in pain. and grabbed the bolt and attempted to dislodge it. He wiggled it back and forth as more blood spewed from it. Angel couldn't it out, it was too deep.

the precense of Touami was gone, she must have left just playing games with him. Angel got up struggling alittle and walked out the door. several orc patrols could be seen approaching him.

"Today is just not my day." angel said as he fell to his knees then onto his face as the Orcs approached closer...

(OOC: Actually, I'll let that fly; in this case, confusingness advances the (sub)plot.)

Nothing made sense. Angel was falling, but standing still; orc patrols roamed the countryside and yet Tim's men were still happily threshing away. Something was afoot. But Angel wasn't ahead of this barrage of unreality; it completely took him away.

Alexander's eyes were beginning to recover from the flash. Tim would come next, his helmet having shaded his eyes somewhat. William would be the last to recover his sight.

Alexander could almost make out a shape ahead of them; a massive shape. But it could just be the remains of the golem.

The flash hit Williams face like deer caught in headlights.

"AHG!" William yelled as the flash hit him. He sat down in the middle of the tunnel, he rubbed his eyes, he tried to open them but it was all one big bluish spot. He sat there with his eyes closed hoping the bluish spot would go away so he could see. Instead of fighting the pain in his eyes, William threw his back against where he remebered the wall was. And started to listen, to what ever he could here.

William heard a dull thud behind the three, back at the farmhouse, as if something had just landed.

Alexander's vision cleared completely, revealing a hunched over figure, much like a thin, skinless ape, spindly with spines running all over its body. The way it was standing, it was about five feet high, and two eyes of the same shining blue quality as the light surrounding it. It was like a black shadow.

The voice that answered boomed around the room, but was not deep; somewhat thin and reedy. "Yes, you may call me the Slayer. It has been long since I have had visitors who were... not of my following. What brings you here?"

(OOC: well since the DM won't decide what happens to Angel...)

Angel awoke in an open area, the grass cleared out from under him. There were several tents all over the place. He sat up nd shoke his head alittle then lookde up to see several spear pointed at him.

The cranking of a crossbow could be heard behind the spears.

"Touami." Angel said aloud as he looked up to meet her eyes. Several Orcs stood ion front of her holding the spears.

"hmm, i can see that you are quite aware of your suroundings." Touami said holding the crossbow to her shoulder and touching her chek against it. "OK, you've got a choice...you can either join us and help protect the world. or i can kill you and resurect you."

"Why don't you just kill me and resurrect me." Angel said throwing a nasty look at Touami.

"because, When you are resurrected your a shamboling mass of flesh adn need to be retaught everything, if we just take you now than...we don't have to retrain you." Touami said staring down Angel, the Orcs impatient to taste teh blood of a human.

"Kill me." Angel said as he closed his eyes patiently

Touami walked up to Angel and pushed the tip of the crossbow into his forehead making a small cut that caused blood to draw and flow down into his eyes.

"I was looking forward to you killing me Angel." Touami said as she placed her finger on the trigger. "good-bye."

"Hurry u..." Angel was cut off as Touami pulled the trigger adn drove the bolt into his forehead causing his limp body to fall back onto the ground.

Blood rushed on teh ground adn the Orcs quickly dropped their spears to go drink it from the mud.

"Get a shaman over here." Touami said to one of teh Orcs as she pulled the bolt out of Angel's forehead and put it back into her bag.

Angel awoke with a start in the farmhouse. By the look of the hallway, he was in the same area as the others. His eyes adjusted quickly to the bright magical light.

A massive hole was obvious in the thatched roof of the building, through which the daylight shone far above. It was obvious that he had fallen a long way, and had hit his head on the corner of a table.

His entire body ached from the fall; but even so, it was a miracle that he hadn't died.

(OOC: dammit...i wanted to make Angle the villian or a sub-villian...grr...guess i'll wait till later)

Angel got up and grabbed his aching head were it had hit the corner table.

"Dammit." he said to himself as he observed the room.

The place smelled freshly and it was obvious that someone was in here not to long again do to the busy surrondings instead of a quiet sudtle farm house. A door led down into a deep hallway and by the angle of the hellway it was obviously underground.

Angel tried to walk out the door but was stopped as his face hit a magical feild. his nose ached as he rubbed it in pain.

"well can't go that way..." angel said as he turned towards the tunnel.

Angel walked down the tunnel and he heard the bustling of a loud voice, not deep, just loud and echoing. Angel picked up his pace but with each step not a noise could be heard. Angel drew his dagger and approached closer to the voice.

Angel turned the corner quickly without thinking of checking first to see what it was. His eyes widened as he saw...

Angel saw basically the same thing as Alexander had, and Tim's sight had now fully recovered as well. William was on his way there and could make out an indistinct shape coming toward him; namely that of Angel.

(OOC: Ah, I see... sorry 'bout that... but I already have a few sub-villains in the works, and as to the villain him/her/it-self, well, you'll see. The thing about the last bit was that Angel was "inside" the house, really falling almost to his death in the pit left behind by it, which is why he couldn't leave and get to the orc camp. Sorry 'bout not briefing you on that...)

Angel Held his dagger out and realized it wasn't much of a compation. He quickly put it away and brought his bow from around his neck and placed an arrow, rather clumsily, on the string.

He pulled back on the string and aimed it at the demon (can we get a description please? is it like a three headed dog or something?)

Angel looked around and realized that there were more people around him. He backed up behind them so that if something broke out he would be able to run...

"Yes, you may call me the Slayer." the creature responded. "And this one," it indicated Tim, "thinks I am the leader of a cult. Why?"

Tim mentally growled.

IM: Great: a mind reader and an illusionist rolled into one.

T: I heard that.

IM: @#$@.

Tim, somewhat on edge, said the first thing that came to his mind. "If not, then why were we attacked?"

An irreguar grating sound prevailed. After a few seconds, it was realized that the creature was laughing. "I had thought you were more tax collectors..."

It turned around, looking at William, Angel, Tim and Alexander.

"You four pose no threat to me; the farmers are expendable. But, to assure me that you will do me no treachery, I will send one of my servants with you."

Another shadow, humanoid, appeared next to the Slayer. Tim realized that they looked that way because a bright light source was behind the Slayer. Who knew what it really looked like?

T: You will never find out, human.

"Now, begone!"

The world around the four swirled in a blaze of rainbow colors and then turned to black. When they recovered their senses, it was apparent that they were back in the farmhouse. The light of day beamed through the door, and the sounds of activity came from outside. The four were again above ground.

Correction: the five were above ground. Framed in the doorway to another room to the farmhouse was a tall armored figure, clad in sky blue plate and wearing a helmet with small dragon wings on it. His face was difficult to distinguish as the shadows from the helmet covered it almost completely. A hint of a grey beard was all that was evident, at the very edge of the shadows.

NPC!

Unread postby Yari Koneko » Wed Oct 30, 2002 7:48 pm

The stranger lifted his head, revealing a weatherworn but decidedly human face. He had a short beard, with a few streaks of brown but were mostly grey, as were his eyes and eyebrows. While this man was not given to old age just yet, it seemed that he was readily crossing the border to it. Concealed by the doorway had been a long steel-tipped spear, and he brought this into full view, leaning on it somewhat as if it were more of a support than a weapon.

Without moving, he said, "I am Thomas Lightcarrier. And, unfortunately for the both of us, I seem to be obligated to follow you." He sighed. "'Tis a pity, but unavoidable nonetheless. Shall we depart?"

Thomas began to move toward the doorway exiting the farmhouse. With a bit of an angry expression, Tim followed.
