(Yup, that's you. I didn't put in Hardrive's character, because there've been no posts from them for a while. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. ^_^;; )

The feint was successful- the lizard hissed out a shriek at it's heavily wounded left arm.

Still, it turned to the nearest person- Kotoki- and attempted to claw at her with the same arm. Obviously the attack was unsuccessful aside from a line of shallow claw marks.

In an alleyway about a block from Kotoki's, Midoku lay resting against a wall, the strain of trying to carry the armored Dark Knight too much for him.

,-.-, I shouldn't be this upset... I should be used to this by now... Midoku thought, a few tears still falling down his cheeks, ...I was used before...

,-.-, ...so why does this feel even worse...? *sniff*

Midoku leaned over, hoping to huggle the drunken Dark Knight to console himself. Instead, he found himself face-planting into a garbage can lid on the ground. Rubbing his sore nose, he quickly looked around for Stephan.

<.>;;; "Stephan!?! Where are you!?!?" Midoku shouted, getting up and looking around. After a minute, a horrifying thought occured to him.

<.<?! "..what if, he noticed I was crying...?" he thought. Then his eyes went wide.

0.0;;; "...What if he was actually coherent enought to think... oh gods..."

**Meanwhile**

>.e+ "...make my shw..shweetums cwy will ya..." Stephan slurred, standing a few feet from the door to the Inn. He drew his sword out, but fumbled it out of his hands to the ground. Bending over to grab it, he quickly faceplanted into the dirt.

>.<;;; "...gods...darned...ground...slaming mie faec..." The Dark Knight grumbled, staggering back to a somewhat standing position. closing his eyes, he held a hand forward, apparently trying to cast a spell.

e.< "Fires... of...uh...heck..." he struggled, a rather small sized fireball appearing in front of his hand, "...um...do...stuff..."

The ball flew from his hand, making it about halfway to the door...

...before fizzling out completely.

Magic out of the question, Stephan defaulted to the only other thing his mind could think of in such a state. He ran foward, slamming into the door and knocking it open...

...and faceplanting once again inside the Inn.

Kotoki looked at Stephan and blinked. "Stephan? What are you doing here? Why did you leave? Will somebody what's going *on*?"

"Uh..." started Brandon meekly. "Mr Stephan and Mr Midoku ended up leaving. They're not coming back, appearently..."

Kotoki sighed. "Will you all kill this thing while I'm gone?" Without waiting for an answer, she ran out the inn door and began blue mage hunting.

The lizard, meanwhile, had no idea what was goig on. But that's okay because it wasn't sentinent anyway.

(Kotoki has left the pecking order. Kraken, dear, please post or I'll have to skip over your turn... ^_^;; )

Kraken whiped out his two hand crossbows and sent two bolts flying towards the lizard before backing away and reloading.

Unfortunately, the bolts went wide and completely missed their intended target.

Brandon, frowning and grabbing his harp, ran forward and smashed the lizard across its stomach. The creature reeled back, winded from the blow.

(Devon's turn. The lizard attacketh not this time.)

Molo scratched his head. He wasn't nearly as brave as Devon, so he didn't want to go rushing in, katanas flailing. So, out of options, he stood up on the bar, grabbed a half-full mug of dragonale, and chucked it at the beast!

Dan's 'attack' managed to get into the creature's eyes. It growled and whimpered at the same time, rendered blind temporarily.

Drawing itself up, it flailed blindly for the nearest target- who happened to be Devon. The attack hit, surprisingly, and left a nasty looking gash down his chest.

Jak grinned widely. 'Dan's "attack" brought back memories of something that had happened in the past, and something which had worked quite well.

Rather than a dramatic thrust of an arm, or an elaborate series of finger movements, he simply pointed his hand towards the lizards booze drenched head.

"Burn." he said simply, igniting the air around the target.

To the lizard's credit, it didn't die even with it's head on fire. However, it was fairly clear that it wouldn't last long against any attacks.

Meanwhile, Kotoki was searching diligently for Midoku in the streets. The men tailing her remained unnoticed.

A low moan came up from the floor of the inn, as Stephan managed to get onto his knees, cluthing his forehead tight. He shook his head slightly, wincing at the slight pain this caused in his head as he blinked his eyes, trying to get them focused. The first thing that caught his attention was the bright, fire lizard thing howling in the middle of the room.

o.< "..w.w.hat da... f..fu...da heck is dat?" Stephan slured, as an eager grin creeped onto his flushed face.

^.< "W...what... deva id is....canni keel eet?" the Dark Knight smiled, his hands waving hapharzardly as he struggled to form an ice spell, barely creating tiny ice shards around his hands.

**Meanwhile**

<.<;;; "Oh gods, I hope he hasn't done anything ras..." Midoku started to think aloud, looking along both sides of the street frantically as he headed back to Kotoki's. Unfortunately his thoughts were interrupted when he bumped into a familiar Inn Keeper. He fell onto his back, his hat getting pushed forward and covering his face as he groaned from the ground. @.@;;;

Devon's opening strategy, as usual, was used under the assumption that the opponent would not in fact think of counterattacking. As such, it came as a surprise to him when he found himself sprawled on the ground with a bloody gash in him, nearing unconsciousness and quite possibly death.

Brandon kneeled onto the floor beside Devon, looking horrified. "Sir! Sir, are you alright? Does anyone in here have any potions?"

Meanwhile, the lizard finally burnt itself to a crisp. Its charred remains fell onto the floor. Had anyone tried to eat it, it would have tasted like chicken.

Kotoki pulled Midoku back up from the ground. "I'm sorry, sir, I didn't mean to- oh, Midoku..." Having realized that said person was the one she was looking for, she shuffled her feet nervously in the ground. "Hello."

As Midoku was pulled up, he also started to apologise profusely.

-_-;;; "No, it is quite alright, I was at fault for not look..."

Then he looked up and saw that it was Ms. Kotoki.

"....................."

He stared at her for a good while, his eyes narrowed in the darkness of the mage's hat. Not an angry look, but then again, he didn't seem completely happy either.

e.e ".....hello...." Midoku said back, his eyes neither blinking nor moving.

**Meanwhile**

;_; "*SNIFF* Id's nod fair...damned it..." Stephan sobbed, collapsing onto a nearby table into tears, not noticing the current crisis with Devon, "I wanned ta s...stabbidy someding...*SNIFF*..."

He then looked around the inn, noticing the still burning corpse.

"Ah shi..." he muttered, casting a quick ice spell over the corpse, the ice quickly melting and dousing the fire.

Midoku stood there for what seemed to him like hours, a gentle breeze blowing his hair and robes about as the Inn Keeper spoke to him. His eyes were still half shut, making no attempt to hide the fact that he was upset. He was still feeling that way as Kotoki finished speaking, the Inn Keeper waiting for him to respond. The Blue Wizard wasn't sure what to say. Part of him wanted to find the Dark Knight and never speak to her again, recalling the countless times in the past he'd been exploited before...

...Is it a Man... A Woman... Or maybe even a Beast?
...Wanna 'get to know' it and find out for yourself?
...Just name your price...

-\/- What she was going to do... it's no better... Midoku thought, his mind almost made up at that point. He started to open his mouth to speak again when he chose to look at Kotoki. He looked the woman eye to eye, and his resolve faltered.

o.o ...she truly means it... Midoku thought, his eyes opening a bit more. That was something that he had always admired in the Inn Keeper, he recalled, how open she was with her feelings. In the short time he'd known Kotoki, she never held back her thoughts or feelings. Even with her own 'unique' heritage, she wasn't ashamed of what she was or how people felt about it. She always seemed to have a sincere air about her, and Midoku could sense that she was being so right now.

Ã³.Ã² "I'm... not sure what to say..." Midoku said back, looking a bit sad. He took his hat off, holding it in front and glancing at it nervously.

v.v "...I... I know you did not intend to hurt me by that... but..."

"...................."

v.v;; "...I'm not sure I can explain my reaction."

He looked back up, returning the same sincere look Kotoki had.

Ã³.Ã² "...But, I should have tried to talk to you instead of making a scene... I realize that now..."

"................"

v.v "...I'm sorry too..."

**Meanwhile**

6.6 "H...hey, dis shtuff iz pree... preeed... pree... ...sum good sh#$..." Stephan slurred, using a nearby fork to eat some of the weird meal Jak had cooked (he thought) for everyone in the middle of the Inn.

Kraken looked down at Stephan, he seemed to be dozing lightly, one thing was for sure that guy was gonna have one hell of a hangover.

IM:Time for a bit of "hair of the dog"

Using all his strength Kraken hauled the Dark Knight onto one of the bar stools. He sat down next to him and helped himself to a little of the Knight's gold, taking a little for himself as well.

IM:Its only fair....well to me anyway

Slapping the gold down on the table he shouted "Some wake-up juice for my new best friend, and some dragon ale for please", he grinned to himself.

Kraken pocketed the gold and scrambled over the bar, he poured himself a small dragonale and then proceeded to mix up a multitude of other drinks. The resulting brown liquid he poured a small amount of into a glass, he placed it in front of Stephan and slapped the knights face lightly with his hand.
