Nivek Rowan lounged against the side of a building. His shirt was unbuttoned all the way, and his long hair was out of it's usually tidy pony tail, to become a rather pretty mass of messy white locks that spilled over his shoulders and back.
His dark black eyes trailed over the ever changing assortment of Domans that strolled past him getting their shopping done in the market. None were spared an appraising gaze, wink, leer, or greeting filled with just enough innuendo.
"Hi there my darling lady...how that skirt flows in the breeze...it gives only hints as to what's beneath..."
Promptly, he has a rock thrown at him. All in a day's work for Gaera's drow bisexual gigolo.
"How tired you look, Sir! Perhaps a massage and a little company from another gentleman will give you a boost...my ability with my hands has been said to be priceless..."
This time it was a dagger that was hurled at his face. Thankfully for Nivek, he was quite limber and agile, and rather used to objects being flung at his body.
TAP TAP TAP, he feels on his shoulder. Fearing an officer of Doma had come to tell him to shove off again, he turns to see who it is.
*************************
MiMi the nekojin was not pleased. She had found the perfect man at last! Sure...he was a hairless...and an odd shade of blue, but he was lovely none the less. Oh the time they had spent together... so lovely ... they romped all over nekonia together and had the best of times. She just wasn't sure why he charged 100 gil an hour for his companionship. She figured he was a bit on the poor side and gladly gave up the money. She could afford it after all.
But then one day he was gone. Mimi was very sad. Her whiskers drooped and she felt absolutely wretched. She had been abandoned by a poor hairless blue man... her good friend had gone.
Then the baby came. Mimi had always wanted a baby, but when she saw it for the first time, it only had small patches of white fur...and dark dark blue skin. How horrible! Her friend Nivek must have left it here. So it was his baby and not hers. This made Mimi very sad.
But she knew her good friend must be worse off! He must miss his baby very badly. So packing up the newly named Purity, and covering the wriggling youngster in blankets, and giving her a stuffed fish to chew on...the young mother set out, to return the lost baby.
She journeyed long, and her thoughts took odd directions, like if it was his...how did it end up in her stomach? Mimi was never really one for any long trains of thought, so she soon tired of trying to figure it out and managed to make it to a small town outside of Doma capital. It had taken a year for her to do this...she would have made it faster...except for the baby...
Thinking she would never find her friend. She settled down in a small boarding house and took care of little Pure a bit longer.
Soon Pure was a rambunctious two year old nekodrow with an appetite for fish that was rather astounding for something her size.
One bright morning, Mimi overheard some conversation from two travelors making their way away from doma capital.
"Too many damn drow around here nowadays. And all of them up to no good! Out to have their blue hides tossed out of our borders."
The other travelor nodded solemnly and Mimi thought this over.
Nivek was blue...so he must be a drow!
Mimi now knew where to look! So she headed for the border of Doma, where the men had said all the blue people had been tossed...but after a days worth of travel...she reconsidered, noticed her mistake and headed for the city instead.
***********
Nivek paled a little. It was the rather slow nekojin he had taken up with for awhile.
Automatically, sweat began to form a sheen on his forehead, he swiped at it annoyed. "Hi Mimi! Long time no see! How is the most fetching nekojin on Gaera?"
"Oh I'm good good good Nivek! I missed you lots. Why did you go? I realllllllly missed you! Yep!"
Little pure stayed hidden behind her mothers legs. She hated strangers and this one seemed particularly odd.
"OH! I'm soooooo sorry Mimi my love! I was called away on urgent business......I'm needed by the masses of Doma....to uhm.....bring a little joy into their lives or bedrooms! You see I couldn't have stayed.....I'm an important part of their commerce....erm... I cannot stay too long with one, when all the world needs to experience the embrace of Nivek?"
He floundered about trying to think of how to explain this to Mimi. He had explained to her once that he was a prostitute....but she just didn't catch a hold of that.
The catgirl was confused.....but that was really nothing new. But she had a mission and nothing could daunt her!
"Wellllllll ok. I guess that makes sense. But you left something with me! I came here to give it back to you!"
"I didn't leave anything there....what are you talking about Mimi my dearest?"
"THIS!" Mimi stepped aside and picked up the small little nekodrow and shoved her into Nivek's face for inspection.
She beamed a smile of triumph, knowing how happy her friend would be. "I found her a little after you left. I know she's yours because of the skin and I JUST KNEW you wanted her back!"
Pure began to lightly bat at the face of the weird man with her front paws. HE wasn't moving or saying anything now, he was just making a funny gurgling noise.
Mimi, with mission accomplished nuzzled the little girl's head, gave her a hug and skipped off, ready to return to Nekonia.
Pure stared up at the man, who had been gurgling for about ten minutes now. She figured this must be some sort of game, so she quickly slinked behind a garbage can so he could find her. While hide and seek was not her favorite game, like gimmecat, it would do. The little girl curled up behind the garbage cans in a little ball, and waited to be found.
(urgle.......it was better in my head this story. blarg....may or may not post more. x.x *SIGH*)

I died for beauty, but was scarce
Adjusted in the tomb,
When one who died for truth was lain
In an adjoining room.
He questioned softly why I failed?
"For beauty," I replied.
"And I for truth, - the two are one;
We brethren are," he said.
And so, as kinsmen met a night,
We talked between the rooms,
Until the moss had reached our lips
And covered up our names.
