OK, so, this weekend, I've been on a Magitek Armored Corps graphic image making BENDER, so I feel a certain desire to exhibit these little gems to the general public. Now, bear in mind that these are PROBABLY going to be official. Nothing's set in stone yet, but Brian DOES like them and with luck, these will be locked in as official ... stuff.

First, I did up the team patch of the PCs in the current RP, Delta Unit (Squad, whatever.)



Then, I decided, what the hell, let's make up MAC ranks. Seeing as we'll be going off of army ranks, I went all the way up to General, so I went off that model, for the most part.

First, the grunts...



Then, the middle management...



Then, I just kept going up.


Uh... this one's Captain, not Major. >.>





And, well, I couldn't decide, but I think I want the first one.

The majority of these will be on arm-insignia. That's why we originally discussed the fact that there would not be room for an infinite number of concentric circles.

Also, I still have reservations about the sword motif.

Hopefully I'll quit being a slacker and draw up the uniform. This will obviously be fanart of either Hel or Makura, because otherwise I'd have NO motivation, but Brian gave me details yesterday and I'll get an image out as soon as I can. <p>-------------------------

The concentric circles stuff is good, but the eight million swords are too busy. The two crossed swords I like, but beyond that I think we need to take another approach.

Some portion of my mind thinks that since there are relatively few generals that their patch could be something completely different. It would be appropriate, I think, for there to be mage generals, tek generals, and machinist generals; perhaps a dragon's head, a universal symbol for mecha symbiote, and a cog? <p>

Normally, that's not an issue of rank, though, Brian. Rank is purely to establish a chain of command. You could have special division patches like that, and that'd be a nice and quite sensible touch, but if you make those ranks then you've got the question of "does a tek general outrank a mage general and why", that sort of thing. <p>

Which works because in real life different divisions of the military often have less than friendly rivalries :D

Yeah, but a Colonel in the Army Corps of Engineers is still equal in rank with a Colonel in the Army proper, as far as I know, and they both wear the same rank insignia. The former just has a special division insignia to go along with it. <p>

Though they are sent together, the Teks, Machinists, and Mages were considered different sections of a larger force in the original concept, ala the Army, Navy, and Air Force.

Additionally, there's something about the squad patch that puts me off for some reason. If anything, it's probably the fist, and possibly excess of green--the latter just doesn't seem too appealing, and the former doesn't really fit. Then again, I'm me. Okay, a basic image for the uniform. It's nothing goofy like a Star Trek jumpsuit, because Brian has decided that MAC soldiers have dignity, or at least are allowed the option.

It's dark green with silver accents on the arms and outer seams of the trousers. You can see on one shoulder is the rank insignia (which is different for Hel than it will be for your characters) and on her other shoulder would be the unit patch.
