Or at least my first go at it. Of course they'll be slightly more cuter and chibi'er in the comic but tis a first go and thought ya might like to see. Also: Here for a little bit bigger version

So yeah! <p><div style="text-align:center"> </div>

Scott, first off, you rock for just drawing that.

Second off, and more in-depth, I really like the cigar. It's a very nice touch-off to the entire thing, really adding a bit of style to it. Same for the heart on the chest. And the stubble-ace.

However, the tiara seems lacking. It needs some sort of decoration so that you can immediately pick it out as embarassing headgear-perhaps another heart, or a flower? I don't think it'd have to be anything big.

Also, the eyebrows are...just a wee bit overdone. Actually keep them on his head, man. :{

And lastly, though least-of-factly, since this is a bust shot/concept sketch, the girl should be quite a bit thinner/small than the real thing. After all, they're seeing someone about thirteen years old.

But yeah. In essence, you rock hardcore mate. <p>

Well at least I didn't make his hairy eyebrows this bad! But fine, less two pointy sticky bits out for supreme hairyness.

Personally If I was any less of a manly man I'd be embarrest to wear any tiara but I shall probably add a.. Jewel on the front or something.

I tried to make her seem a lot skinner in this shot actually. If ya can just tell, the dudes bulk actually goes outside the "hair line" while hers is well within it. Also you can actually just see the underside of his chest in this shot, if ya dare to look closely. Honestly I probably should've really made her face a little smaller/cuter looking though so I'll remember that next time.

I gave him a bit of a chewed off ear and scar on the nexk as well, which goes over to her. Not sure if ya want that but I did it anyway.

So yeah, i shall take on board what you hav put forward and see what happens next.

Add an image of the commander wigging out at the blood at the end of the before-last comic (as the joke there) and I think it could work.

Because that "I think it's really cute" line is worth trying to salvage!

Unfortunately, I think the theme behind Sailor Bubba is that s/he appears to be a typical little schoolgirl while 'in disguise,' so it should mask any obvious physical flaws Bacon has. The mangled ear and scar are a good touch for Bacon's appearance, but I don't think they'd fit for his/her Scout appearance.
Unless... maybe they were turned into cute birthmarks/deformations? Like an elfy ear and a bunny/heart/whatever-shaped 'birthmark?'

I'm not sure this would work best as a series of 4-panel comics. This sounds more like an actual short-volume manga series, and may work better with 8-panel pages (or variable-panel pages, depending on what should have impact and which panels need more space/detail). In particular, the action scene during comics 1-3 might be better off condensed, to make it feel more fast-paced. 2+3 and particular are very similar, and would probably be better off combined in some fashion.

Goddamnit, what else was I going to say?

Oh yeah. What about the events leading up to this first badguy encounter, and would Bacon's commanding officer have an 'official'/pretty name for his Scout persona by this point? Because 'Sailor Bubba' probably wouldn't be the best term to use for public relations, and would arouse suspicion.

And has Sage told you about Bubba's sidekick yet? And his sidekick's sidekick?
And their rivals? :D <p>

<span style="font-size:xx-small;">"Their rhetoric... You didn't put communists in his bed did you!" came Amber's indignant reply.

"Why not? All I had to do was open a gate to his bed and stick up a sign saying 'Hot virgin willing to make the ultimate sacrifice in the name of international socialist fraternity.'"</span>

<span style="color:blue;font-size:xx-small;">Excaliburned:</span> <span style="font-size:xx-small;">Ah yes, I'm thinking of having the USS Bob be preserved outside the Arena as a monument of sorts</span></p>

At this very moment I have to admit to not really wanting to do anything other then 4 panel comics for shits and giggles, so while Sailor Bubba probably would suit a normal comic setup better, it won't be happening from me any time soon ={ *sad face*

I added a mangled bit off ear to the school girl image first because, for some reason, I just liked the idea of this cute girl having what appeared to be a chewed off section of her ear. I mean, its just not something you'd normally see so I thought, hell yeah. Its only a cute little half circle section off it too. Imagine the sympathy votes she'll get if they spin it as a monster attacked her and bit part of it off. Poor cute girl. But yeah, the duiguise thing would probably hide it. Alas.

Also those comics aren't even what one would call, "Cannon". As I just thought of them while drawing the picture. Its probably out of character for anything Sage would want to do. I had just finished reading various 4 panels mangas that I own, drew this and was all like Wheeee and had spare time at work so shared them. As for the scenes leading up to the badguy, unless I think of something funny I wasn't honestly all that bothered with it .. Heck adding a caption on the first one like -We join our hero in the midst of a terrorfying battle- A La the old Earthworm Jim cartoons sets it up just fine =P I think anyway.

Oh and if I was setting these up on a A4/5 type pages:
Comic one would be on its own with a nice picture above it:
Image
And the other Comics appearing in sets of two, so 2 and 3 are together on a page, then 4 and 5, and lastly 6 on its lonesome just because.

It pleases me you like the "I think its really cute" line! Yays!

I know of Emo boy off the top of my head but that's about it. <p><div style="text-align:center"> </div>
