RED's Sketchbook

Unread postby RedEye Dragon89 » Sat Dec 17, 2005 7:58 pm

Since ya'll had to be so mean about it..

Old Stuff
Superman on a bad day
He's got lady lips
Blue
Yellow confetti flying around a rock
This piece's been compared to El Greco's coloring style. I'd compare it more to a peanut.

Stuff
Quick color study - 1 hr.

All are color/value studies, all from ref.

More when I draw them. >:[

Batman looks pretty emo there.
The Superman piece, and the last one, are supergroovy.

See, I knew you were good when I saw that Megaman you guys drew in the crazy artsy chat thing, but all you ever posted were the same links to other people's art sites!

Thanks for posting these up. I'd be interested in seeing whatever else you've got.
-------------------------

Why does that old guy remind me of Indiana Jones?

You've been trying out some different styles lately, it seems! Either that or you're just now showing us your your more "traditional" side.

Image

Edited by: [url=http://p068.ezboard.com/brpgww60462.showUserPublicProfile?gid=brainwalker>BrainWalker</A] Image at: 12/23/05 11:57

I've only got one today. There's a bunch in my tangible sketchbooks, and I'll try to scan a few of 'em in this week.

A Generic Hiroaki Samura Freakout Scene - Speed lines and gratuitous mutilation absent. Oekaki'd on oekakicentral.com. Interesting place is all I can say about it.

I used to like Oekaki Central..
But then when most of the people there would rather comment on HAWT BISHY BOIS more than other things.. yeah.. it gets irritating.

And you're still as awesome as ever. Digg the greyscale samurai picture lots.

It would bring me great joy to officially participate in the Batgirl meme, but it'd likely be the only reason I'll ever use an LJ. Probably'd waste away like my DA account (Don't ask, it's empty).

Eh. I couldn't resist...

Geez, I do not know why the hell I thought this was a good idea. It was funnier in my subconscience.

That's better. Some panty-shot to relieve the foggy-headedness. I hear Oracle can move her toes these days.

Incidentally, I've been doodling some Batman designs for about a week now. I'll post them some other time.

Sleepy. Stupid finals.

Edit: What the fuck did I draw last night?

Except that's Batgirl. Note the boob.

And the fact Barbara Gordon's been crippled ever since Joker put a bullet through her spine (from the front).

She then became that Oracle everyone's been talking about.

And heck. She can still fit in another stint in the tights before she becomes the GCPD commissioner. *nod*

And now you know. And KNOWING IS HAL-*shot*

Awesome work there RED, do I detect a slight Alex Ross influence there with your Superman? Image

oh... and I'm still waiting for more of that art and/or sprites you promised for that game of mine. Image

Indeed. That old man, supes, and bats, in fact, were ref'd off of photos in Alex Ross' book Mythology. Batman's lips still bother me...

Anywho...
