Critiques of all types welcome.

The description as I posted it at DeviantArt, because I'm lazy:

"This is an RP character of mine called Leah Brone. She is a second gen (second generation) Gaera character for RPGWW ([link]).

"Leah is a Dratasi, a race I created--but rather than make a new race for Gaera, I made Leah come to Gaera from the world of Ayenee (a world some of you may be familiar with). Dratasi are a non-numerous race which are a mixture between human and bat (batlike wings sensitive ears which are a cross between a human's an a bat's -- yes, I forgot to draw Leah's ears. I hope to redraw this sometime, there are so many faults -.-;; ). For the most part, Dratasi live in tribes and Leah's tribe lived in the settlement of Adara, in the mountains of Danai.

"It is a cultural custom for the Dratasi to tattoo their face and arms, and Leah is no exception as you can see. Tattoos are variations of the family base and as such Leah's tattoos look similar to her mothers. I have a oekaki in my z_crap folder on my computer somewhere showing the tattoos of Leah's mother. Perhaps one day after RPing her enough, I will draw a decent picture of Leah and her mother together, and you will see them together!

"Leah left her home for reasons I haven't revealed ICly yet and has come to work at the Ivory Horn in Doma City in exchange for room and board. I have had a lot of fun designing her, character, background, and design, and hope to RP her more in the future.

"Things to correct in a second drawing:

"-=- ears
"-=- arms (prefers to wear short sleeves so her arm tattoos--tiger stripes--show)
"-=- wings (find a reference picture!)"

For a moment I was thinking, "where are her ears?" until I read the blog beneath the link. I give you EXTREME props. You've improved SO much in such a short time. How long did this take you to draw and ink?!

Critique: The wings are very nice, curvy and proportioned. The pants and shirt are also good; the wrinkles add that 3D fill you need on a B/W sketch. The face, however... the distance and placement of the eyes/nose/mouth seem odd, and therefore she isn't the prettiest thing.

One last note--I love the face tattoos. FACE TATTOOS RULE!!

Groove on, Dia, groove on.Image

*nibbles happily on her EXTREME props!*

Actually this is pencil! I used a tool on my image program (Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0) called auto levels to darken the lines because the lines scan very light (I use a 3H pencil so it doesn't smear). Took me maybe 20 minutes to draw.

Thanks for the note on the wings, because I was rather unhappy with them. All comments noted and appreciated. Thanks, Nick!
