New Sprite Sheet?!?

Yes, I know, I have no right to post anything in this section due to my massive lack of artistic ability, but this is a sprite sheet for Virgil, which I finally got around to doing.

I... Hope this works. Some parts are still tenuous (Like the battle poses. But I'm not a good spriter so I'm not able to make up new ones without viciously ruining the sprite.) but most pieces are pretty close to what I'd like. <p>"There is great disorder under Heaven, and the situation is excellent."

It looks good, but shouldn't his hair be darker blue than that from what you described to me? <p>

It SHOULD be, but my abilities in MS paint are woefully limited. It would take me a long, long time to change it, and honestly I like lighter better. <p>"There is great disorder under Heaven, and the situation is excellent."

I'm getting a "British punk rocker" vibe here. Is that accurate?

Also, kudos on MSpaint spriting. That's a bitch and a half. <p><div style="text-align:center">Image</div></p>

MS Paint > Just about every other graphic-editting software when it come to spriting.

It's true. Honestly. I swear... Anywaysa, these fellas Image Image etc were all made in Paint, animated in PSP, but meh. >_> <p>

Dude, I have access to every version of PSP and Photoshop ever made, and I still use MS Paint whenever I happen to do spriting. <p>

I'd rather use MSpaint for spriting. Well, the only exception now are FFT/RO spites. I need to whip open Photoshop for that.
But if I want to edit a fighting/Final Fantasy(well you know, upuntill 7 anyway)/any 2D based sprite. They get done in MSPaint.
I'd say it's easier but I don't want that whole "Well, you have artistic talent backing you up" shit on me >_> i know for a fact being able to draw =/= always stellar at spriting. <p><div style="text-align:center">

I don't know enough about British punk rockers to answer that, thank you for the kudos, what the heck is Utena, isn't Aiko a female name, and anything else I failed to address in this one multi-purpose sentence. <p>"There is great disorder under Heaven, and the situation is excellent."

Dude, MSpaint for fighting game sprites? That's insane. There's so many frames in fighting game sprites, I can't imagine how anyone could possibly have the patience to do that shit in paint. PhotoShop and Paint Shop make ripping and editing batches of sprites a bazillion times easier and faster.

I'm baffled about this whole Paint thing. It's like... trying to build your new house out of legos, or trying to recreate history's greatest masterpieces with a number 2 pencil. <p><div style="text-align:center">Image</div></p>

From scratch? Shit, that's even worse.

You know, reducing an image to 256 or 16 colors in Paint Shop or Photoshop is virtually identical to doing anything in Paint. <p><div style="text-align:center">Image</div></p>

BW: First off, There's such a thing as a 24 bit bitmap. This can be converted to otehr formats safely by any number of other programs. They do provide you with a limited pallete, but it's modfiable. o_o You put a color from the pallete onto your color selection (right click the color), go up to the top bar for settings. properties and tools, and choose the menu that says "Colors-Modify Custom Colors". That brings up a large palete, along with about 16(more?) temporary saveable color slots you can fill in, starting with a base color, and modifying it further in a special window reached from "Create Custome Colors".

It's easy, it's quick, and it makes getting shading assloads easier. <p>

Aside from the fact I agree doing spriting with MMSPaint when you have other options sounds like making things harder for you then it has to be...

... This quote freaking kick's ass. I don't know why, perhaps I have snapped (hell I have honestly heard a voice that wasn't there and seen someone when hey weren't there - honestly), but this amused me a hella a lot.

... As I'm here I suppose I'd best say something about the sprite.

Well done! <p><div style="text-align:center">Image </div>

Say what you will. But I personally LIKE sprite making in MS Paint. *shrugs*
I don't like PSP7. I only have it because it comes with Jasc Animation Shop.
Photoshop is something I only like using on Cging pictures not Pixel art.

PERSONAL PREFERENCE STRIKES AGAIN. ZOOM.
I look at it this way. Use what you damn well please. As long as you get what you want out of it there is no reason to complain. Xp <p><div style="text-align:center">

Hey, I'm not saying you guys are stupid or you're doing it wrong, I'm just saying I don't get it. You MS Paint-ers can go over there and be crazy, I'll stay here with my sweet, sweet paint shop. Image

Also: the 24-bit bitmap is one of the least efficient image file formats ever. They're like... DBZ characters. They're all like "RRRRRGH!!! HARDCORE!!!", but it takes them half a season to do anything, and in the end, it wasn't really worth it anyway. <p><div style="text-align:center">Image</div></p>

The 24-bitmap was the only way I could take the GIF file and paint on it using nonstandard colors. If I didn't, then you'd have... well, a somewhat misshapen Gau. <p>"There is great disorder under Heaven, and the situation is excellent."
