Wii remote hacks

Unread postby Archmage » Fri Apr 11, 2008 4:57 pm

Holy crap, this is amazing.

Johnny Lee has devised a set of simple software and hardware modifications that allow a Wii remote to be used as either a digital whiteboard (normally costing $2000 or more) or a 3D headset.

I dunno about amazing. All the technology is already there, it's just configured differently. Hell, you can use a USB Bluetooth jack and an LED strip, download a driver and use the Wiimote as a pointer-mouse with no modification whatsoever, in both Linux and Windows. Better in Windows than in Linux, though.

That's exactly what's amazing about it, Bes. Think about how cheap a Wiimote is, and how much you can do with it with little-to-no modification or trouble. It's awesome. :D
