A little help, if you don't mind

It appears as if my computer has contracted multiple viruses, one of which seems to induce a shutdown of the keyboard and mouse.

I would normally not have such an issue, but my antivirus and firewall are both outdated to say the least--I don't have access to the product codes and all that shit in order to resubscribe to Norton's services. In effect, even if there are viruses, I can't detect them.

So why I'm posting is to see if there are any recommended online services to detect and eliminate such annoyances. Formatting is not something I'd like to try, due to lack of knowledge on how to get everything back to how it was.

So, uh, any recommended online dealies to try? <p>ChibiUrusai: *chomps* I am underage. ^-^

This place can give you an online scan, but I am certain you have to use IE or Netscape to make it work proper

If you don't want an online service, AVG's a pretty good freeware virus scanner. And as for freeware firewalls, there's always ZoneAlarm.
