'Yello, it's my first time posting here, so I just wanna make sure ill get myself started on the right track by saying hi first...

so...

Hi Image

Anyways, back to my question.
I have been doing some art for some time, and recently I have resulted in doing my line-art inking via photoshop. I went from the freeform pen tool, to the lasso + line making routines. But seeing the art done in some fanimanga done around the web has got my stumped. People are using pens! Image

I myself have even tried using pens, although my inking lines never come out smooth like some I have seen. I use the Sakura Pigment Micron series art pens. Anyone have any tips on how to get smoother lines?

Thanks in advanced Image

Draw on your monitor. It'll work. Honest.

But yeah, I haven't really been able to fix up stuff I've drawn in photoshop, it hurts my head usually. DM would be a better person to ask.

I know that if I ever want to ink smoothly without a computer (on which I use a tablet, which works far better than the pen tool or lasso), I forgo pens entirely and just se a thin brush and inda ink. <p>

Hmmm, I actually use the pen tool via the wacom tablet, graphire 2 I think it was.

Anyways... hrmmm... maybe the thin brush idea is worth the trying out. Actually, I have the Sakura Pigment Brush pen with me, which isn't half bad. But I usually use that for thick hair, and not line-art as a whole. Image
