I remember taking this thing not long ago (maybe 6 months) and got two sects of Buddhism in the top 3, as I recall. The other was probably Secular Humanism. <p><span style="font-size:xx-small;">"It's in the air, in the headlines in the newspapers, in the blurry images on television. Don't forget the old Greco-Roman and Norse mythoi!

Yes, yes, there will always be entries left out of any given list. Truly, I'm actually more disappointed in the content of the questions than the content of the answers, as for the vast, VAST majority of questions on this thing, suitable answers for my viewpoints were not available. <p><span style="font-size:xx-small;">"It's in the air, in the headlines in the newspapers, in the blurry images on television. So I was like, "how does this Unitarian Universalism keep matching with everyone?" So I clicked on it. They have no stances on anything. Every one of their bullets on 'what they believe about X:' was "diverse beliefs. Some believe BLAH, but others believe BLAH."

So, yeah, meh to the whole thing.

I'm a druid.

Zoroastrianism is still practiced in the Middle East, in some places. It's not very expansive, though. The last count I saw put it at about 100,000 followers; mostly in the Zagros Mountains if I recall properly.

From what I know, the Quakers and Unitarians don't have hard, fast rules on much of anything, so they're relatively easy to match with. By that logic, I figure the Christian religions (catholicism, the orthodox churches, latter-day saints) will usually be at the bottom of a lot of people's lists.Image

FD: Well fuck a pig :(

Still, I don't think Jedi has or had nearly the influence that Zoroastrianism did. So, it is a faith that has yet to really be, as opposed to a faith that was and is declining.

This makes me ponder how many proclaim belief in the Greek, Norse, ect. myths, then.

The point is that less people are Zoroastriasts than are Jedi, and jedi also isn't in there. They aren't going to dig up information on a million different religions and toss them up on the quiz if almost no one is going to get them as results. They probably just picked the top 27 religions and used those.

Also, I got some sort of quaker last time this came up on the board. <p><center><table border=0><td>Image</td><td>

I am actually registered as a Jedi for my religion in England.

Yes I did force my parents to put it down on my census form, and they did so, so yay?
<p>

I am just too damn British.

Unsurprising results, really, at least, for the top choice--Judaism, though, I certainly didn't expect.

Reform Judaism is flexible to the extreme. It's basically Orthodox Judaism, except you throw out any rules you think are stupid. <p><span style="font-size:xx-small;">"It's in the air, in the headlines in the newspapers, in the blurry images on television. So basically, I'm either a Christian or a Jew who sets his own rules. Sounds right! <p>

The reason that "jedi" is acceptable on the census in crackpot countries like Britain and Australia is because there are enough crackpots who actually follow the crackpot "ways" of the jedi for there to be enough want for such an option. That being said, Gus, unless you actually and actively follow those ways, isn't lying on the census some kind of offense?

...I may be wrong, but I believe it isn't an option in the sense you seem to mean. It's a write-in for selecting "Other" and putting it down as the specific information, or some such. Gus or another Brit would know for sure, but I'm somewhat certain that's the case.

Edit: Oh, also, on the "there are enough crackpots who actually follow the crackpot 'ways' of the jedi for there to be...such an option", I'm positive that isn't the case. <p>

Bah, they didn't fine me a single penny. And didn't that article say that there will now be an option to choose "Jedi" as a religion on the census form, even if it will be registered as "Other".

Try reading it again. You can respond with "Jedi," sure, but it's a write-in.

Not that any amount of bureaucratic finagling will make it an intelligent idea. <p><span style="font-size:xx-small;">"It's in the air, in the headlines in the newspapers, in the blurry images on television. Mainline- Conservative Christian Protestants (100%)

This can only be true if Conservative Christian Protestants aren't as rigid as people may think. <p>-Seethe Longnails</p>

In any given barrel of apples, there are bound to be a certain number of bad fruits. <p><span style="font-size:xx-small;">"It's in the air, in the headlines in the newspapers, in the blurry images on television.
