Gasoline!

So. I was struck with an odd bit of curiosity today, and I decided I wanted to take a survey to get an idea how well (or poor) off I am with regards to a certain issue. I figured, hey, RPGWW is diverse with respect to the geography of its members. Why not ask here?
Right now, in my area, gas prices are plateauing at about $1.69/gallon for standard, regular grade gasoline (87 octane). A gallon is 4.546 liters, so that's 0.37 cents a liter. That's about 0.21 British Pounds Sterling per liter or 0.50 cents Canadian.
I'm rather pissed off at having to pay $1.69/gallon. Whatever happened to the good old days of paying $1.30 or less? *weeps* Anyway, the question is...how bad off am I, really? What're gas prices like in your area? Even if you don't drive, I'm sure you look at a gas/petrol station now and then.
