Id like some of the members of this community to name some good NON ANIME movies they have seen lately. You know, that kind that makes you think.

One that I have seen lately has been, "Instinct" and I urge those of you who like these kinds of movies, to check this one out.

What about you? <p>------------------

When you say "these kind of movies" be a bit more specific. The movie could be about anything with the name Instict; porn, horror, adventure, romance, etc.

I saw Pink Floyd's The Wall, which was pretty good; takes the CD The Wall and tells the story of a man going insane.

I really, really want to see Intolerable Cruelty. <p>

Kill Bill was terribly excelent.

Freddy Vs Jason was not quite as excelent but it was good.

Jackass the Movie, entertained the crap out of me.

And Fight Club, I haven't seen it in a while, but DAMN it 's good. <p><div style="text-align:center">

Pirates of the Carribean, too, was excellent.

And I just watched Interview with a Vampire the other day, it was pretty awesome.

Either of the currently-released Matrix movies. Likewise Lord of the Rings. *anxiously awaits the conclusion of both trilogies* <p>"Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to being a Republican. Being a Republican leads to being super-rich, or a poor, confused angry red-neck."

Ringu 2's pretty good, Kraken, though it's not quite as good as the original.

It DOES have some seriously chilling scenes, though. :D Watch it at night. <p>

I would strongly suggest Underworld. Nice effects and from a few sources I've heard it follows old legends and myths pretty good storyline wise.

EQUILIBRIUM.

It's a direct to video movie that KICKS MAJOR HINEY. Go rent/buy it immediately.

Also, I second most of the movies mentioned here. Plus Shrek and the ever awesome Shawshank Redemption. <p>--------------------

Underworld was good. I love the way she walks after jumping off really high things.

Also, watch Mont Python and the Holy Grail. <p>

No, Pervy, it's Dr Strangelove or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb. Silence of the Lambs is a different movie altogether. :P <p>

Equilibrium got sown in the cinema over here....

Oh and go see The Rock that is like one of my all time favourite movies.....

Requiem For A Dream is also a good movie but I'm not sure that's what your looking for. Also both the X-men movies were wicksta, then there's Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas etc...etc.... there are so many.

On a side note I just saw any given sunday, and yes I know it's about american football but I still thought it was excellent.... <p>

More importantly - Watch movies that come in Black and White vision. A lot of them are getting re-released on DVD so its a great time to get them. Some I recommend as ones I personally like are:

The original 8th wonder of the World - King Kong. Giggle as he snaps a creatures jaw then plays with it - saddly lacking in all of his other movies.

Seven Samurai : A fantastic movie and wonderfully written and paced. To get some of the finer moments you might have to know a bit about the Samurai culture but it is a movie you can srt down and enjoy. All 4 hours or so of it. (The Cowboy Film The Magifisant Seven was basically stole this movie scene for scene)

Jojimbo - (probably spelt wrong) - Another fantastic movie about a not only skilled Samurai but very clever as well - how he plays the town against each other is great. (For a Fistfull of Dollars Stole this movie as well - both versions worth seeing).

The Victim: (I believe this is its name) A early look at Gay rights and how the world views homosexiuals. Very well written - old school acting of course - and enjoyable. This one should make you think - espically when you compair what was then and what is now and see the difference between them - or sometimes the lack of it.

---

Another Movie I love is The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. Not B&W but a complete Classic of a film.

Its really not hard to find enjoyable films =D so just go out there and I'm sure if you give a few a chance you may be pleasantly surprised.

The 13th Warrior r0XX0rs the b0X3rs too.

High Fidelity's good viewin too, especially the scene where we get to see John Cusack, Jack Black, and that little quiet guy <span style="color:#96CDCD;">beat the crap out of Tim Robbins and crush his head with an air-conditioning unit</span>Image . *spoiler in hard to read font color, there, there's my warning =P*

And let us not forget Better Off Dead, a movie so 80s it's hilarious.

I have to agree with Rube here.

Also, as for recently watched movies, Pirates of the Caribbean rocked totally and completely. Also, re-watching Monty Python's Holy Grail was awesome.

The Game. Awesome movie.

Also, The Count of Monte Cristo. The fight scenes are done well.

As well, The Princess Bride. It's a real fairy tale. Also good fight scenes. <p>From the GURPS Magic sourcebook:

I hated The Meaning of Life. Of anything Python I've ever watched, that is the least liked.

Pirates of the Carribean was very good.

Braveheart is one of the best movies of all time. <p>
