What's up with them text ads, eh?

Unread postby Mechanisto » Thu Jun 26, 2003 8:09 pm

<FONT FACE="Verdana,Arial" SIZE=2>So. Text ads.

FIRSTLY... I read the note that mentiond the offer of temporary free EZ Gold for any board that offers to test out a new text ad system. As long as you test the adds, your Gold is extended for free.

SECONDLY... I noticed some text ads within the RPGWw forums. Nothign intrusive or insulting... but they have a kind of sinister shadow to them.

Me, I hates me them ads. But on the other hand, they are not big annoying graphics, and they aren't pop-up-under-over-everywheres. It's possibly they might even funnel ads to us that are at least slightly of interest to our forum goers. Maybe.

Has this been decided upon officially? And what's the general consensus?</FONT><FORM method=post action="http://p068.ezboard.com/frpgww60462frm11.processVote?topicID=481.topic"><table border=0 cellpadding=3 cellspacing=0 width="55%"><tbody><tr><td><input type="radio" name="choice" value="1"><FONT FACE="Verdana,Arial" SIZE=2>I hates me them ads, and I'd rather pony up cash</FONT></td></tr><tr><td><input type="radio" name="choice" value="2"><FONT FACE="Verdana,Arial" SIZE=2>It's worth free EZ Gold, and they are quite endurable</FONT></td></tr><tr><td><input type="radio" name="choice" value="3"><FONT FACE="Verdana,Arial" SIZE=2>I don't care either way</FONT></td></tr></tbody></table><P><input type=submit value="Vote"></form>Show results</FONT> <p>---

What's up with people never reading the RPGWW Discussion forum?

Oh yeah, laziness. <p>

Dia is at least 120% correct.

For shame, Mechanisto. For shame. <p>

That's just great. Now there's two serious discussion forums I have to keep track of.

Nothing more to see here, folks. Show's over. <p>---

What amuses me is I got four ads for popup killers on this thread :D <p><Chat> <Matto says, "What's up?"
<Chat> <Prince_Herb says, "Angst."
<Chat> <Prince_Herb says, "Drama."
<Chat> <Prince_Herb says, "Betrayal."
<Chat> <Prince_Herb says, "Plushies."</p>

That's only ironic if the four ads were themselves popups. <p>---

...yeah, that's why he said it amuses him, and said nothing about it being ironic. <p>

I did not say he said it was ironic.

How ironic. <p>---

Yes, but it was implied in your post, whereas it wasn't implied by his. <p>

I assumed he DID imply irony, though indirectly. He laughs at ads that support the ignoring of ads.

Really, FD... your interfering with my universal right to be wrong. <p>---

And just for fun, I will be nitpicky and noticed that the correct form of that is the contraction "you're" as opposed to the possessive "your." <p>

AM: Your obviously wrong. Where's you're common sense!?

Though, I cannot refute the speaking of Pie. It is that which defeats me instantly!

*is dafeeted*

*Instantly*

Someone either lock this thread, or move it to spam where it apparently has evolved to belong. <p>---

And Mike says that the Spam forum will be taken over by the serious one. <p>

...and for the love of fuck, who keeps voting on this?

It's a dead issue, folks. Seriously. <p>
