Why did I click it. I knew better. I knew better.

That is all.

This thread devolved into game lingo faster than I expected.

I would like to remind people posting in this thread that not everyone is attached to the SC2 multiplayer community, and therefore might not know why you're bringing adhesive companies, sled dogs, and backyard furnishings into a discussion on a videogame about tactical space warfare.

Hey man, if you want to do a Destiny Cloudfist and transfer into a standard fast-expand with mech-heavy, gas-intense build, that is so up to you.

So, okay, I got totally converted into SC-geekdom, and I literally sucked and hated the first game.

I haven't clicked the link, but since when is SC2 complicated to begin with? You pick the unit you want, rush to building it, then make ten metric asstons of them and attack.

"Destiny Cloudfist" sounds like a bad translation of some kind of over-the-top anime martial arts technique.

Anyway, since the quarter started, I haven't really had a lot of time to mess with SC2. But now that I beat Laura Croft: Guardian of Light and Disgaea 2, I might get back into it. Then again, Disgaea 2 is a Disgaea game.

Didn't they nerf the shit out of siege tanks recently? I heard they dropped the damage of siege mode like 30% or something. Which... is a decision I really can't say I support.

I had a chance to play SC2 recently on a friend's computer. I wasn't very good at the first game, but it was fun enough to get me to try this one anyway. He was trying to teach me the interface and stuff... and then got confused when I started shift and control clicking units, and using hotkeys and such. I spent the rest of the afternoon reteaching him to play. :x

I love that they kept the same basic interface. :D

Siege tank damage was nerfed because of the fact that unbuffed, their siege mode could oneshot a zergling.

Which I thought was the goddamn point.

If you're turtling, yes. Siege-tank is fairly okay offensively, but they kept the marauders effectiveness and the stimpacks give ungodly buffs to MMMs, so it's not like the Terran's underpowered.

Compared to Protoss, they are.

Compared to Protoss, though, anything short of an ancient horror from beyond the curtain of reality itself is underpowered.

... that said, I'd be shocked if they didn't bring in the Xel'Naga in an expansion.

From the discussion going on in this thread, it's always possible that there isn't a massive skill gap at this juncture?

Nothing tears people apart quite as well as one being much better than the others at Starcraft.

I'm curious whether it was because of the defensive or offensive uses of the tank, seeing as a turtling terran can be pretty tough to crack, 'though denying him expansions is the way to go there, I think... and banshees, of course.

Offensively, the tank was pretty damn well good as well, but the fact that they didn't nerf Marauders makes me wonder... Still though, I've seen enough play to know that the M3 isn't invincible, it's just easy to macro up quickly which I guess is a big problem in bigger games, i.e. 2v2 and beyond.

I'm actually a terran player, a shitty one, but I've been trying to get a better grip on Zerg recently simply because I think I might learn a few things about them that can help me vary my game, not to mention decide on going Random one of these days.
