A sad message for veteran board members...

Unread postby Spleen » Mon Apr 13, 2009 11:13 pm

So there are some of you who remember when I joined the board at age 12. Most of you were high school kids, wise in the ways of the world. Some of you, perhaps, were even older.

I just turned 20.

Don't you feel old?

I remember sitting in a school computer lab at age 14 and typing on the original board. I am now 24. Damn right I feel old.

Twenty Five. I forget how old I was at joining, though. Probably somewhere in the neighborhood of sixteen or seventeen.

I had just moved to my college dorms when I started on here. Now I work at a college and live largely dorm-style. Not a whole lot has really changed, as far as atmosphere. Can't really look back and say, oh! That was so long ago!

When I first joined in 2004, it was because these were friends of the guy I'd just started dating, and I wanted to get to know them as well. I was still totally certain that I wouldn't enjoy online roleplaying of any sort.

Joke's on me.

The death of old rivalries, and the birth of new ones. Truly, this is a new RPGWW!

Jerk!

We should totally take a class together, though. That would be awesome.

Man, and to think that we thought Pervy was way off base in thinking you were a total asshat.

I want to see an epic poem. For bonus points, don't use the word "dickgirl" in it.

I'd hardly consider it epic, but it does have a nice simplicity to it. You did include dickgirls though, fo'shame.

Jak showed me of this board's existence at school sometime between age 14 and 15. 23 now. I may not be around as much, but I still pop on to read the new posts once a week or so and check what you guys are up to.

...Jak, remember when we went to Otakon 04 and I thought you were Reako? Good times. Good times...

I remember first coming to this board from a forum invasion from good old Adventurers! Back when powergaming was a standard of both sites, and it was fun times for all. Then I realized half the cool people from Adv! already went here, so I joined as well. I think it was ...2003? I know I joined Adv in 01, shortly after I got my own computer at the ripe age of 15.
