$60 Amazon Credit

Unread postby Molokidan » Tue Mar 18, 2008 3:24 pm

I just won a $60 gift card to amazon, oddly enough, for a FAQ bounty from Gamefaqs for a faq I did regarding the (currently) Japan-exclusive DS game, Game Center CX.

I'm rather confused, but more importantly, I have NO idea what to spend it on.

This is a sign.

You should spend it to buy a Game. A video game. A violent video game.

External Hard Drive. They are excellent, and will last you far, far longer than any game.

Better yet, get an mp3 player that also acts as an external hard drive!

I have an iPod shuffle right now that I'm happy with, so I think I am leaning toward the external HD for storing my crap, since my laptop is only 40 GB.

Do you have any recommendations as to brand, Jak?

Western Digital are the best known for reliable hard drives, but Lacie have a line of compact hard drives that are good if you want to move them about. Dunno what prices are like for US hard drives, but I imagine you could get 40-80 gigs of extra space for $60.

120 Gig Western Digital - $75

$15 more than the voucher, but solid. Couldn't find any Lacie HDs at a glance, sadly.

Jak has the right idea. External Harddrives will give you more bang for your buck. Sure, games are fun but they'll only be fun for a certain amount of time till you're bored with it.

Harddrives love you forever!

Good hard drives don't! :D I've only suffered one hard drive death over the years, and that was due to me dropping it on a corner while it was running. It'd been dropped a few times before.

I don't remember how much into pen/paper style roleplaying you are, but if that amount is greater than zero you should buy PARANOIA XP. PARANOIA is fun. Other games are not fun. Buy PARANOIA.

Do you have sufficient clearance to advertise that game, Priam?

Of course I do! The book is RED, and I am clearly BLUE, as you can see by my ability to access these forums. My loyalty to Friend Computer is such that I even registered my mutation, evidenced by the yellow border about my avatar.

What have YOU done for your Complex lately?

Thanks Cap'n. I actually ended up going with a Seagate portable one because it comes with a 5-year warranty.

It should come in the mail next week! Thanks everyone!!
