Slightly-retro gaming.

So, for the past few days, I've been looking out for a couple of not-all-that-old games that I missed the first time around, but since then have garnered my interest. Kirby's Canvas Curse for the DS and Pikmin 2 for the GameCube. I haven't been able to find either locally (of course, I haven't been searching hardcore), and of the two reliable online options, Amazon and Ebay, one charges way too much and the other, I don't necessarily trust 100%.

Thus, I bring my situation before you, my bretheren. Help me solve my dilemma!

Where do you guys turn for kindof-but-not-quite-retro gaming?

Cheapassgamer.com & ebay.com. Ebay is prolific with the bootlegs, but if that doesn't bother you, then go for it.

For DS games, I'll sometimes go to Play-asia, what with the DS being region free and all. Non-text heavy games will sometimes show up there in different versions. You'll be paying more money there than with the other two, though.

If you like, I can keep an eye out for those games in local stores--I could swear I've seen Pikmin 2 around, at the least.

I've been using eBay for three years or so, and I have literally never had any problems with bootlegs. Focus on sellers with high feedback ratings... and it helps to try and stay with those in the same country, as well.

What End said. Bootlegs for portable carts are pretty common on eBay (especially for GBA, but I'm pretty sure they're a noticeable problem for DS too), but as long as you only bid on items where the seller's in the US, you'll avoid about 99% of them.
