Well, I have to say, I love the opening theme song. And it was endorsed by PA.

I haven't seen the actual show itself, though, because I lack cable. Has anyone? Is it of merit?

The art style bothers me, though not in and of itself. The art style bothers me specifically in the context of Transformers, because the Transformers are robots. Robots have lots of right angles. Robots are not supposed to have an 'organic' look to them. At least, not robots that are supposed to be robots. Robots that are supposed to also turn into other things. And I can't get past that. I mean, if I close my eyes it seems unobjectional enough, I guess.

This is actually the first time I heard the theme song. It's actually pretty cool, surprisingly. Unfortunately, the art style is not, for reasons Priam has pointed out. But honestly, I might actually be able to forgive the art style if the animation wasn't flaming shit. Animation has made leaps and bounds since Astroboy. There's no excuse for animating at 5 frames per second, other than frugality. And they really could not have put less effort into transformation sequences.

How drunk did they get Glen Murakami, anyways?

The toys for the line look just as cartoony as the art in the show, which is incredibly awesome. Also, it's not being written by generic anime writers, so I have high hopes for it!

Probably not very. He was (partially) responsible for "The Batman," after all.

What amuses me is that apparently Weird Al plays Wreck-Gar on the show. Someone needs to confirm this for me.

Seconded.
