I appreciate this so much. It makes me wonder if there are other songs that could be danced to from video games but you know nothing comes to mind at the moment. Still it amuses me so I thought I'd share!

That seriously rocked my socks. Not the most skilled, but super adorable. Even the outfit fit.

It was cute and creative! IT makes me wonder, what can be done with nerd + bellydance?

Okay, I thought Mortal Kombat was a little... iffy, but I'm going to have to draw the line at Doom. What the Hell, man? Of all the music in gaming history, Doom came to mind?

Anyway, I am bereft of physical rhythm, but I can't help but feel that one of the many versions of Prelude from Final Fantasy would probably mesh well with the style of bellydancing.

Or maybe not.

Certainly better than Doom, at any rate.

These bellydancers at Pagan Pride Day in Indy were dancing to Exotic Ethnic. Yay DDR!

Also, I suggest Tank! by the Seat Belts.

Anyway, more game music suggestions:

Boss theme from Sonic the Hedgehog. Highly recognisable and a wonderful tempo.

And now some songs that wouldn't work:

Banjo Kazooie theme. Way too hyperactive.
Zelda music. Generally too slow and the main refrain has too many disjointed notes in it.
Pokemon theme. Too fast and too dull.
F-zero music. As much as I love it it's just too fast and repetitive to work.

Hmm, there's not much in video game music that really works when considering belly dancing is there? Then again, this is a pretty unusual subject.

PS: The music from DOOM rocked and if anyone says otherwise I shall invite them to square up.

It's not that the Doom theme is crap, it's just that it is so very very wrong for bellydance.

It'd be like trying to waltz to "I like Big Butts" or trying to breakdance to "Moonlight Sonata".
