HEAR YE HEAR YE. HEROES OF MANA ISN'T BAD!

...So far. I'm 5 chapters in, and I'm not disappointed in the least. RTS on DS? FUCK YEAH.

RABITES ARE YOUR PEONS! :D

It plays similar to WC3, since the main characters are hero-like units that equip items gained after each map is cleared. It's pretty sweet. Hell, the story hasn't gone to crap (yet), and while it is kinda wonky, it's still worth checking out.

By and large, its way better than Children of Mana. Also it has multiplayer. :D :D

I don't know, I'm still wary. I mean, a GOOD new-gen Mana game? Such balderdash threatens the very laws of the universe.

The main complaint I have is stupid AI. It wasn't that noticable right off, but if you have a horde (5+) of lets say mushboom, and select them to go somewhere far off, they sometimes go severely out of the way to get there, since it's grid based pathfinding. Clicking the destination about a second afterwards should correct the stupid ones, due to the path not being immediately clogged by allied units.

Other than that, the game seems really impressive to me, for a hand held RTS. It's like playing a pretty version of WC1. With a rather nifty plot and hero units.

Another draw is that it seems to be a prequel to SD3. You get Hawkeye's mom on your team!

Well, his father is in it too, but you can't play as him.
