It's true. I'm a little upset, though, that they went with the now-overused disproportional Superman-body thing with the huge chest and the dinky waist. Granted, the waists on the Transformers (or at least, Optimus) were smaller than their torso widths, but not nearly to that extent. Part of what I loved about Transformers were they were robots that looked like robots, complete with the squareness and everything.
Alas, it is a new age, and if the new generation approves then so be it. Not that we have a lot of right to complain--for the love of God, watch the original Transformers movie sometime and you will be enlightened.

The new cartoon is clearly based upon a future where metal can bend like rubber. Truly a wonderful advancement in technology!
I saw the trailer in David Willis' blog a couple of days ago. I actually.. kinda like it. I'll probably watch a episode or two to see if I really like it or not.

The animation style is...not terrible, but I don't find it visually pleasing either. I think its success will depend mostly on the quality of the writing.

Heh. Hehehe. Hehehehehehahaha!
You said "the success will depend upon the quality of the writing." *snrk!*
I think that just like the old series, this one will be largely a vehicle to sell the toys. A lot of times, kids just don't care about the story--adults talk a lot, and talking is boring. More action and shooting and fighting and flashy stuff means more engagement for the kids. All the story that is needed is "these guys are bad, these other guys are good, they have a fight."
