... if you're getting Pokemon Diamond/Pearl.
I know I am, and will want to battle you peoples/trade to fill up my pokedex.
I'm not the only fan of the series, so I want to propose we put up our friend codes when we get them and such. Wifi battles are pretty awesome, though I hope they don't have any slowdown problems.
Now discuss how awesome this game it will be. DISCUSS!

I'm just posting in this thread to mention that Amanda's avatar is totally awesome.
I wonder how long it's going to be before they run out of random valuable things to add as subitles to Pokémon games?

I'm considering it, actually. It'd be a while, though, due to monies. I have enough games to keep me happy for some time to come, as it is.

you know, if they were to make a pokemon White/black, how many of you think it would get a name change on the Unitated states?

Glu^2: I think that kind of nomenclature decision is more of Sony's domain. You know, them being all edgy and whatnot.

i guess so, Sony has shown lately that they're not afraid of potential racist stuff.
what about Pokemon A/B?
or better yet: Pokemon A/1.

Fruit themed! FTW!
Glu: There were already fake games that were sold on eBay similar to your black and white, but it was called ChaosBlack, which was a hack of FireRed and LeafGreen. Aparently a lot of people have hacked/faked Pokemon games and sold them on eBay in the past. Look it up. It's the crazies.
...but back to a somewhat on topic discussion, what are your opinions on Pokemon still being made? Yay, Nay? WHY? EXPLAIN. There will be a quiz afterwords.

Speaking of valuables and pokemon bootlegs, the company will probably avoid naming games after bootlegs like Jade and Diamond:

for me, i love the mainstream pokemon games, i don't care for the spinoffs but, capturing cute creatures, given them silly names and then have 'em beat the shit out of other cute things is pure goodness!

There's so many crazyass monsters in Pokemon games that it's hard not to find one that you like at least a little bit. I remember going fishing and catching a WHALE in... Emerald, I think, maybe. That was pretty cool. Reako handed me a GBA rom and I was bored enough to try it out. Plus there was this little cactus dude with a hat and a stare that just said "You don't want to fuck with me. But you're going to fuck with me anyway, aren't you? Alright, let's dance."

So, who bought Pokemon Diamond/Pearl?
I managed to get the last copy of Pearl a few days ago.

I got Pearl but haven't had much time to play it.
I did muck around in the whole "dig up treasures for GOODIES" type minigame though. So far it's pretty neat.
I only have 9 pokemon :(

Everyone I know but me has it, and they all keep talking about it. From what I gather, Piplups are awesome, and getting "Paralyzed" is the worst thing that can ever happen, unless you're a Zapatos and you're put to sleep while fighting a grass pokemon... or something.

I'll buy it when I know which one to buy. I still have no idea as to why they'd make two games, and what the difference is between them...

The main difference between them is that there are different pokemon available in each version. This encourages trading with your fellow Trainers.

I haven't gotten it, because I don't have a DS. Though I'm re-playing Ruby (in Japanese... this time I actually understand most of it!) so I guess that makes up for it...?
Actually I find that the character designs just get more ridiculous in each version. Apparently they have a pokemon in Diamond/Pearl that is styled after a wind chime. A WIND CHIME. What's next, a spoon!?

The windchime pokemon is actually fairly unridiculous when compared to some of the things I've seen come out of that series over the years.

Pretty much. But since your goal is to capture ALL the characters, the difference is somewhat important.

Clearly you should do intensive research and obsess over it for days before making a decision. And after making a decision.

Besides, I believe the goal that the franchise goes for has shifted further away from finding every pokemon, and nowadays focuses more on competitive matches. Thus the dropping of the "gotta catch 'em all" catchphrase and all.
