Manhunt 2... for the Wii.

Hahaha, oh wow.

(Also for the PS2, but that's not the point.)

The idea of using the Wiimote to manage a stealthy kill with a baseball bat is certainly interesting, to say the least.

If we're arguing in terms of 'Mature' related content on the Gamecube...

Let us not forget the entire spectrum of Resident Evil games on the Gamecube (one of which is exclusive; one of which, in terms of being a remake, is exclusive, and one of which was an exclusive) as well as Killer 7 (which was, at one point, an apparent exclusive, as part of the "Capcom Five"), MGS: Twin Snakes (remake exclusively for GC) and Geist (which has, actually, remained an exclusive and was also published by Nintendo).

In addition to other third-party fare, such as the Prince of Persia games, the Splinter Cell games, Gun, etc.

That is, in the broader sense. If one were to focus on titles Nintendo has actually directly connected itself to, that'd mainly be limited to Geist, Eternal Darkness, and (I believe) the Twin Snakes remake.

No it won't. D=

The thing that amuses the hell out of me is that when I was a kid, /all/ video game consoles were for kids. (Except possibly some of the Ataris, since they had pseudo-porn games. Ah, granpa, you old dog. Anyway.) Now that us little kiddies who grew up on kiddie consoles are adults, there's some sort of...I dunno...machoism amongst some folk who apparently need to prove that /their/ consoles of choice are for <s>/big kids/</s> /adults/.

:ghost: I dunno why, entirely, but then again, I still have all my childhood stuffed animals and read childrens' books for fun (not to mention comic books, but I guess those are totally for adults now that they're called Graphic Novels). I guess I just have the GURPS advantage Easily Amused, which allows me to like or dislike video games based on my impression of their content rather than their affiliation to 'childishness' or 'maturity.'

By the way, did anyone else play the original Manhunt? I gave it a good solid go, and I thought it was terrible. Sloppy controls, boring gameplay, poor writing.

I'd honestly be surprised if anyone else on RPGWW had played it.

As far as I go, yes, I did, and I'd have to say it was... interesting. Very stealth-based and thus very difficult. The degree to which Cash was more or less forced to kill his enemies (with the Director apparently jacking off over the more violent deaths) made it all the more disturbing.

I thought the controls were all right, myself, and the gameplay does tend to get a little repetitive, but I suppose you really have to get into the mood for a stealth title to really enjoy it. What was wrong with the writing, though?

I just felt like screaming the 20th time I heard "There's another thug over there! I want you to kill him with X item" Plus I was having a go on someone else's save game, so they let me skip ahead at the end to see what happened in the game, and I never really saw much of a reason to continue. I am biased though, I've never really been one for stealth games. Used to charge guards in Theif.

Well, yeah... if you couldn't get into the almost exclusive focus on murdering your enemies with the use of [random weapon] while sneaking around them, I'd doubt you'd be able to stick with it for many missions.
Personally, I got a bit tired of it during one of the early levels (second? third?) but I suppose I'll give it another shot at some point. It's easier than Siren, at least.

As far as Thief goes, I spent far too much time pestering the guards with water arrows.
