Death note fun

Unread postby bunnygirle78 » Sun Feb 04, 2007 11:58 pm

I didn't draw this but since I am a big Death note fan I thought I'd share the link. I laughed so hard.

http://tw.snafu-comics.com/

you will only get this if you know what death note is. If you don't know go to you tube and watch a few.

Plot summeray I stole from google:

Shinigami own notebooks called “Death Notes” which are used as killing devices. Whoever’s name they write down in a death note will die within 40 seconds. Shinigami Ryuk dropped his Death Note in the human world where it’s found by honor high school student Light. With the death note actually having directions in it for its use, Light discovers he now has the power to discreetly kill people, and with this new power he plans to change the world in his ideal world by killing off criminals. Eventually the governments of the countries around the world notice the unusual amounts of deaths of their criminals, and figure out someone is behind them, but they have no way of discovering it themselves. That’s when they hire L, a master detective, to find out who is behind the murders.

Tis really good manga and now anime series, though I have to admit to wanting to watch a simpsons style version even if it doesn't exist yet. Seriosuly someone should pay that Matt guy to make at least one episode.

You can buy the translated Manga, which goes up to volume 9 at the moment.

All those who write in the Death Note book lead a life of misfortune, or so it is said.

Light wins awards for being one of the best arrogant pricks out there.
Basically it follows the story of the "bad guy" or I suppose in this case the Anti-Hero as he's the main character and all.

Death note is actually pretty awesome. I saw a couple episodes of the anime before it apparently got licensed and the fansubbers I was getting it from dropped it. The Shinigami in question didn't just happen to lose his death note, he dropped it on purpose, because he was bored and wanted to see what happens. Near as I can figure, it seems like the show becomes a series of L and Light becoming increasingly more paranoid as they try to figure out one another's true identities, all the while the Shinigami (whose name I can't remember) is being incredibly amused by the whole thing.
Anime is kind of like fish in that it is better the less "fishy" it is.

Moments like that are too few and far between in 4chan. But when it does happen it makes me laugh.

The paragraph that first made me try the series.

figures, thanks all for the info!

that sounds quite interesting for an anime, you see, lately i've been avoiding non-comedy anime, cuz it always seems to dissapoint me, but this one sounds promizing.

also, points for Dia for posting that!

All good stories have humor, but Death note isn't what you go to for big belly laughs.

Haven't seen the anime, don't know if I intend to. I -do- intend to check out the movie. Ryuk is some -sexy- CG.

I've only seen the first two episodes before it became lisenced (Read up to volume 7 of the manga).

Dia's right, it's not ment for a premium soruce to roffle your waffles, but there are parts that'll make you chuckle delightfully. Only because of Ryuk and his lust for apples. :eng101:

Oh, and Light's a douchbag and L looks like he needs some sleep. D:

I love how they have to mention he's a high school honor student, like it's going on a bumper sticker.

THANK YOU. Deathnote fangirls/boys are seriously fucking /creepy/ in this respect. It's worse than Draco fans, for-fuckin-serious.

He also apparently never got used to wearing shoes or standing up straight. The "crazy genius" characters all have some sort of wacky traits like that. Mello is the most normal of them all, and that's...err...saying something.

I don't understand it either. But I guess some fangirls(and boys!) are attracted to BAD BOIZ like them. Honestly, he just pisses me off sometimes. I also don't like Misa. But that's a whole other can o' worms there. Ryuk is one of the reasons I read Death Note sometimes. L, too!

Spoiler:
Well, untill novel 7.. .. :|

I like L. Not as a person but as a good driver of the whole Death Note story. He's just so arrogant 'n stuff. Smart people are creepy. This is a universal truth. The more smarter you are, the more creepy you are.

The one near the beginning of the thread?
Because it is. The artist done that on purpose, same as doing the Haruhi in the Simpsons style. Clash, or joining, of cultures and style. And cause its cool.

I was wondering about that. It's interesting, I just didn't expect it from a Japanese comic.

Must be clear here, as I wasn't before, Death Note isn't done in that style AND the artist of the comic didn't do that. Its just interesting fan art.

Indeed, note the 'Space Coyote' in the upper left corner.

I'm sure most people already know:
Space Coyote was recently offered a job to work for Mat Groening. :O
INFO HERE: Really!

Oddly enough, not too long after this, another DA artists that goes by the name Rufftoon scored a job as a storyborad artist for Avatar. Info.

Did you know that the mangaka of Death Note, Tsugumi Obha, released a book that details every snack L eats in the manga?

Here's a cool thing from Newsarama: an essay about how L may or may not be autistic. He presents a fair arguement.
