And that trailer needed more of the robots talking. Really, any robot talking would have done it. As it is, it's not Transformers. It looks like an incredibly generic "stuff blows up" action/thriller movie. Not necessarily a bad thing, but certainly not a "totally awesome" thing, and really not the kind of form I'd want a Transformers movie to take. <p><div style="text-align:center"></div></p>

It doesn't have Orson Welles or Leonard Nimoy, but it does have Peter Cullen, who unlike the above was in Transformers for more than just the movie.

Also, teaser trailer! The entire point of a teaser trailer is to look cool and get you interested, not actually tell you anything about the movie.

Lastly: The entirety of all Transformers shows, comics, and movies exist as advertising for a toy line. I'd actually be slightly disappointed if it had some huge, moving, emotionally-charged plot. On the other hand, I would love a giant "blow crap up" movie with giant robots! Giant robot live action movies aren't made every day, you know. <p><hr />Radio message from HQ:

I don't need a gripping plot in an action movie either. It's not about the plot, it's about "Oh, I've already seen this moive 50 times, it's just the robots are bigger than usual now."

If I'm really desperate to see shit get blown up, I can just pop in Independance Day again and save myself 8 bucks.

Also, if the point of teaser trailers are to look cool and get me interested, I'd have to say that about 80% of them fail. Is it really so bad to want to know something about the movie before I spend money on it? That's why I can't fucking stand the vast majority of pharmaceutical commercials. Near as I can figure, they're marketed at hypochondiracs. "Ask your doctor about [pill name you'll probably forget in 5 minutes]. ...Explosions and hints at transformers. So far the teaser didn't do anything I wasn't expecting. What they REALLY needed to grab my attention would be neon laser bolts and 80's sound effects before the explosions happened. Ahh... Juxtaposition..

I hope some of the transformers get completely blown up. And if any get blinged out while being mistaken for cars, I will walk out of the theatre. Seriously.

If you click on the link that says "Transformers trailer" you KNOW there are going to be Transformers in it, so the fact that there are Transformers is no goddamned surprise.
