<FONT FACE="Verdana,Arial" SIZE=2>Well?

Schnoo-schnoo: You can't possibly have enough sex to keep you warm for long. I mean in the cold how much heat could you possibly generate. Maybe I'm just a silly virgin but I'll take hot chocolate.

To all people who choose coffee: WHY? WHY WOULD YOU DRINK THAT?? It takes like....liquid tires, I dunno.

Tea: A viable option. A good all year round drink. Clearly you have class.

Hot chocolate: Oh my god, it's the same as schnoo-schnoo. And with those little marshmallows? Hell yaes.

Hot apple cider: Clearly a harvest drink. You're a few months too late!

That's my drink editorial.</FONT><FORM method=post action="http://p068.ezboard.com/frpgww60462frm3.processVote?topicID=5175.topic"><table border=0 cellpadding=3 cellspacing=0 width="55%"><tbody><tr><td><input type="radio" name="choice" value="1"><FONT FACE="Verdana,Arial" SIZE=2>Schnoo-schnoo. Just kidding. Hot chocolate is always good, so I'll go with that.

I don't.

I stand outside on my front stoop with shorts and a T-shirt on so I can enjoy every drop of the freezing winter weather.

I always thought it was snu-snu. *shrugs*

Not that it matters, since it is currently unavailable. Hell, I'd use that to stay warm on summer nights, when it isn't even a problem.

Anyway, I liken the taste of coffee to licking the devil's own asshole, tea is best served cold, and although I like cider it just doesn't hold a candle to hot chocolate.

Mmmmmm... yea... hot chocolate.

Although I'm hideously lazy so I'm actually more likely to toss on a sweatshirt and retreat under the quilt on my bed than I am to actually make myself a cup of cocoa.

...I tend to play outside in the winter. Keeps me warm. Yay for bloodflow!

More seriously, I more or less act as if hibernating. Gain about ten pounds of padding, wear an extra shirt or pajama pants under regular pants, then sleep as often and as long as possible. It's what practically everyone does in Northern New York, though the weight gain is more subconscious and I really just like to sleep.

I generally prefer to put things in my mouth that taste good immediately with no need for blackwhite mental acrobatics on my part.

You're really missing out on that; think about how many foods there are that are considered absolute delicacies by people who have acquired the taste for them. I wasn't so sure I liked sushi the first time, and now it's my favorite food. A lot of people have issues with things like stronger cheeses, beer that doesn't taste like water...list goes on. <p><hr /><div style="text-align:center">Image

I like coffee that I've made. This is because it contains fifteen to twenty teaspoons of sugar. Otherwise, I'll chug it down and tell myself that it builds character.

I'm going with hot chocolate, though, because it's easier to make.

A microfleece long sleeved shirt. If that is not enough, I do have heaters. Several of them. Many, many of them.

Why would I drink something to make my extremities warm? Or are we bathing in coffee, here? Which, by the way, would be like LIVING in the devil's own asshole.

I tried, I really tried, to give coffee a shot. There was a coworker of mine once at BW3 who made a batch of this french vanilla stuff, and it smelled like awesome. I said, "You know what, I really don't like coffee at all, but I think this has potential. Pass me a cup."

Five seconds later, I was quickly, and starkly, and unforgettably, reminded why I never drink coffee. Ever. Under any circumstances. I would have to be dying of thirst before I would even consider it. <p><span style="font-size:xx-small;">"It's in the air, in the headlines in the newspapers, in the blurry images on television. Also: This is why Starbucks is so damned popular. People can't stand just a straight up cup of coffee, 2 creams, 3 sugars, so they have to go triple sweet, non fat cream, no foam, blah blah blah snotty seattliteacino on the world's ass. Dumb. <p><hr />

Incidentally, Starbucks regular coffee is pretty bad if you actually like coffee, and their espresso is even worse, but it's passable if you're, like, on a desert island or something. <p><hr /><div style="text-align:center">Image

I'm in the boat with ArchBrian. Good coffee is better than good... It's simply amazing. I tend to drink it regular with cream and sugar since it's hardly a bad drink. It goes well with most foods, suitibly clears my bowels out. It just gets better when hazelnut or irish cream is involved, that being baileys or just the regular "irish cream" creamer. If people don't like coffee, they either had terribly bad coffee, or they're predisposed to disliking it, in my opinion.

Except for Priam. He just got a genetic freak lottery of hating coffee. :(

The Bean...

Unread postby Roose Hurro » Sat Dec 16, 2006 6:30 am

For good coffee, you not only need good beans, you need proper preparation. Unfortunately, few people understand how to make good coffee. First, don't boil the water... get it hot. Using a percolator is the worst thing you can do to coffee! Use either a drip machine, or better yet, a French Press. Oh, and make sure you use good water, too. And don't let your coffee sit for more than an hour. All the essential oils evaporate, leaving you with a bitter mess, same as if you'd boiled it. Very bad. However, good beans, clear water, hot but not boiling, in a drip or press... excellent results!

I picked tea, but to be honest the way my family keeps warm in the winter is by laying a log fire in the living room. Does a far better job than any central heating system.

A log or a wood stove is horrendously awesome in the winter. It makes you want to fall asleep beside it without a blanket because it's that comfortable.
