I never linked this here. <p><span style="font-size:xx-small;">"It's in the air, in the headlines in the newspapers, in the blurry images on television. Thanks for the thought...

... But my limit I torrent games are obscure Japanese PS/PC games or PS to Atari going backwards in time. I still don't agree with torrenting PS2 ro recent game console games.

.... But come 5 years I'll probably be okay with it. Joy for strange moral standings! <p><div style="text-align:center"> </div>

Well, if it's been released for your country's hardware, that's a different story. I just heard 'importers' and got excited. <p><span style="font-size:xx-small;">"It's in the air, in the headlines in the newspapers, in the blurry images on television. Nah - its not released in my country and probably won't be...

... But I've "pre-ordered" it from my importer, though it does say from the 10th October which has been and done, but I'll just wait. <p><div style="text-align:center"> </div>

You should import "Happy" too. Wait, unless you're importing MAD! I didn't know Dr. Claw went multinational! <p><span style="font-size:xx-small;">"It's in the air, in the headlines in the newspapers, in the blurry images on television. :( Since Phantasia I couldn't get into the Tales of... games. They always seemed to me as the... I dunno, Madden of the RPG World since they've had more than one or two each year since the first one came out. <p>[--------------------------------------------]

Oh dear lord that was terrible.

Anyway, while I'm not terribly interested in any of the Tales games, I'm actually picking up FFXII. I'm not quite sure why, considering I haven't even touched any of the FF games since number 8, but... hey, it just looks like it might be good. At least half of /v/ seems to think so, as well.

First Impressions!

Unread postby FF Fanatic 80 » Sat Oct 14, 2006 10:28 am

- Voice Acting is on par with Tales of Symphonia, least to me. So far, all the voices seem to fit the characters very well.
- Luke (main guy) is a naive, whiney bitch. =[ Definitely interested in seeing how he changes over the game, if at all.
- Tear (girl in all brown) is not a meek bimbo, yay! Kinda reminds me of Celes from FF6, cold exterior but not quite so all the time.
- I don't know how the hell I'm going to keep all the countries/dukes/etc straight. I'm sure it'll sink in eventually. And there's always Luke's journal summary of events to fall back on, another interesting little thing to read.
- I still haven't figured out how dates and times work in this game's world. The opening movie gives a bunch of dates that still make no sense to me. Whee.
- Battle System feels a LOT like Tales of Symphonia. Still getting used to "Free Run" in this, being able to run in 3D for once. So far, I haven't really seen much use for it, other than running in circles with an enemy chasing me, but maybe I'll figure something out as time goes on.
- Grade System actually tells you what earned you grade points in each battle (if you want to look it up by hitting triangle), which may/may not be handy depending on what grade is used for in this game.

That's all so far. Still looking forward to what's next. =O
- Whoever coded transitions from battles back to the overworld map needs to be shot =[ Takes about 3-4 seconds in a dungeon, but about 10 on the overworld.
