I'll eat pasta and pretend that a Canadian person may also be doing so. In that way, I will share a meal with your people, and there will be common sentiment between us.

We will love pasta together.
-------------------------

I had (and am having!) Chinese food.

Technically it's back bacon, which comes from the loin, while ham only refers to a cut from the thigh or buttock.

This is true, but it bears a closer relationship to what we'd call ham in the States than it does to what we'd call bacon.

However, call proscuitto di Parma ham sometime in front of a great lover of Italian food and get laughed at.

Image

Which is funny, since that just means "ham from Parma".

In fact, I kind of want to do that now, just because of that fact.
