Strange almost-random question

Unread postby PriamNevhausten » Thu Sep 28, 2006 3:45 pm

Does anybody know of a program that connects over IP and represents text transfer immediately like an old phoneline connection between two modems would have back in the day, rather than the burst-fire style that IRC and instant messenger type programs do? I'm looking for each letter to pop up on the other side as I type. Ideas?
"It's in the air, in the headlines in the newspapers, in the blurry images on television. It is a secret you have yet to grasp, although the first syllable has been spoken in a dream you cannot quite recall." --Unknown Armies

If you do find something outside this thread, Priam, let me know; I'd love a program like that myself too.

What would be the benefit of one of these?
-_-___-___-___-_-

Purpose uncertain, but I expect he wants to do something spooky with direct info transfers. Or alert people when he's typing. And tell them what he's writing out as he works on it.

The benefit is that the other side sees what I am typing as I type it. That is fairly simple, yes?
"It's in the air, in the headlines in the newspapers, in the blurry images on television. It was called 'talk' and was used primarily on Unix systems. I found a nifty little Windows-compatible version here.
