How much gaming music can YOU identify?

Unread postby Reako Somner » Mon Aug 07, 2006 8:08 pm

Well, Seppel over at Disaster Labs has made alittle contest thingy, with about 75 music tracks and clips from games from the NES era to present day, PC games from there until now also included.

disasterlabs.com/Seppel/td/

I was only able to guess about one third of the selection, a small handful of others on the tip of my mind but I just cannot remember. How well will you do?

86 points' worth, apparently, with another 6-pointer whose name will probably strike me as I go to sleep. <p><span style="font-size:xx-small;">"It's in the air, in the headlines in the newspapers, in the blurry images on television. Too lazy to register.

Edit: I recognize it all by default, then, I guess.

Did the first 25, got 3.

Yeah, I suck at this.

Edit - Done first 35: got 4. <p>

Listened to them all... Knew 15 and about 5-10 I've heard but couldn't remember where from.

Okay, so anyone who can tell me over IM what ]#56 are gets my assistance on an answer I have that they do not. Most immediately to mind springs the one where Moodock is asking someone to "pull up a char," he'll "teech et to ya."

Because I need to stop punching myself in the face to try to remember those two. <p><span style="font-size:xx-small;">"It's in the air, in the headlines in the newspapers, in the blurry images on television. Name some of the ones you are sure about. SUBMIT THEM TO THE FIELD <p><span style="font-size:xx-small;">"It's in the air, in the headlines in the newspapers, in the blurry images on television. Put my money where my mouth is!?

My good sir, you give me far too much credit.

.. but eh, sure! When, like, I'm at home and sit down and try to do this again I suppose I will.

PS I seem to have 66! GASP! Rather then 60

also Priam = Nina? You're a cute winged princess now? <p><div style="text-align:center"> </div>

GUESS WHO'S NUMBER ONE, BITCHES!?

I can't take complete credit, though. I owe some of it to Reako and Priam, one track to Googleshng, and a couple of my findings were based on detective work stemming from MP3 files from which the ID tag info hadn't been completely removed.

Still! <p><div style="text-align:center">Image</div></p>Edited by: &nbsp; Image at: 8/11/06 19:10

You'll have to check again. I warned you about her, and she's pulled ahead again. And I, am ahead of you. Image

Of course, I can hardly take complete credit either, only 150 of those points are actually mine.

Nobody really wins until #61 is solved. >=( <p><span style="font-size:xx-small;">"It's in the air, in the headlines in the newspapers, in the blurry images on television. I'm willing to bet I'm the only one who figured out the one involving Station 13. <p><hr /><div style="text-align:center">What's wrong with this ring?!</div></p>

You would be losing your wager, then. <p><span style="font-size:xx-small;">"It's in the air, in the headlines in the newspapers, in the blurry images on television. Got 80 points first try. I can answer another 4 more but only if I start up my playlist, which frustrates me immensely.

Also, its kinda mildly annoying to me that they put up both a game AND its remake. >:P <p><span style="font-size:small;"><hr />

Just tried it myself. I've got 71, which is actually better than I thought I'd do. <p><hr />

Well...they put up the answers and results of this quiz. Congrats BW and Reako for being too much more awesome than the rest of us. >:{

As for myself... wow. I pretty much got all the ones I know. Except for Mickey's Mouscapade (thanks, Idran), and the two Megaman entries. >.< <p><span style="font-size:small;"><hr />
